A nice family market! Clean and organized. Definitely a gem to Dearborn. It's not huge but about 1/4 the size of Kroger. Meat selection is very good and the cold cuts will make you chill. Have been going here since I moved to the neighborhood in 2000. Like others have stated, it has definitely gone down hill in the last years. Bought a pricey steak just for it to turn gray in less than 24hrs. Also the pound of store made chicken salad was just plain disgusting! For some reason it had so much of a vinegar taste it was inedible. Never had a vinegar base chicken salad before, just gross. Not sure if it was to mask a smell from it getting old. I stopped for a quick pickup of fruit. When I got to the cashier line it was backed up and one of the cashiers got an attitude that she had to open the other line. When I paid for the fruit, I had 2 pennies in change coming to me. She asked me sarcastically if I wanted my two pennies back. I would have let it go but since she was rude, I wanted my change. She gave me my receipt and change but didn't put my fruit in the bag. I asked her 3 times for a bag, and she reached behind grabbed one and put it on the conveyor belt. This market is down the street from my friend's house, so every time I come to visit I stop at the market. It's small, but they have a lot to offer. I'm always impressed with their deli selection. Everything is always fresh, and the staff is pleasant. I was very disappointed to see that they do not have any avocados. I was disappointed when I learned they didn't have any I always pick some up, when I go to the store. This is why I gave them three stars. Besides that, I have no complaints. read more

I just popped over to a co-op in Ypsi and they had a bunch of local options that weren't certified, but were still organic. And local. I know it's MI. I know the growing season is short. I asked where to put the basket, and she's like, "over by the door." Um, no. That's your job. Plus, the place was totally empty - so what else is she doing with her time? Standing there being a jerk to me, that's where. - Parking spaces that are sized for vehicles that are typically used in Dearborn. I mean, I have an Escape - it's small. While visiting the area yesterday, we decided to stop by and buy some fresh produce. Selection was outstanding . We bought more than we should have and hope we can eat it all this coming week! Only complaint is that the store was way too cold, which probably rushed us outside sooner and prevented us from even spending MORE money inside. I visited a lot more when the store was under the former ownership. Now I only go for certain things; i.e., potato salad and lunch meat brands that I can't get anywhere else. I trust that the meats are fresh, I sometimes buy roasts even though more expensive. Doesn't feel like the affordable Dearborn neighborhood store anymore. Don't see any need for the drastic increase in prices. I don't feel welcome there anymore. Cashiers are a little aloof.....could smile a little more. I've shopped at the Farms Market for years, and always felt it necessary to support local businesses. Prices were decent, and I could always find what I wanted. Since changing hands, the quality has gone down and the prices have skyrocketed. You used to have to fight off the crowds, and take a number and prepare to wait at the deli/meat counter. Now the increase in prices reflects the decrease in customer support. I was there today and chicken tenders (that scrappy part of the chicken breast that is cut off) were $5.99/pound. Most stores charge $1.99 for them. Cherries (peak season) = $5.99/pound. As much as I hate to concede to the larger chain stores, these prices can't sustain my loyalty. read more

I was very embarrassed. While looking for my arrangement none of the other customers were asked for their receipts. I was already feeling like I paid too much for the flowers. I haven't shopped here much since Art sold it to someone else. The prices have skyrocketed, and the typically appropriately priced plants are now double what you'll pay at a nursery. I do like that the store is smaller, not a chain, and is easy to get to. If you are following social distancing guidelines (like everyone should be), I'd avoid this place. One of the female workers approached me multiple times outside and was standing waaay too close for both my health and my comfort. I understand she has a job to do, but she should follow the signs posted on the building regarding keeping at least 6 feet away from customers. I'm immunocompromised so this will definitely affect my opinion about coming here in the future. The prices are much higher on produce and the produce is not always fresh. Many of the apples I bought were already turning brown inside and the lemons that looked beautiful were all skin and very little fruit. The cheapest fresh produce around; not super fancy stuff but daikon and radicchio are in attendance. They don't have a wide selection of dry or canned goods, but they do have decent looking meat and cheese. The store is small and packed to the gills, so expect to be rubbin' elbows with Dearborn's finest. read more

It was such sad news to hear that my favorite market has been sold. I have been going here for decades since I left the family nest! I loved the signs Art would place on certain items, "Try the grapes, they're sweet, Art says so!" One day I approached a man in the store and asked him, are you Art? He replied yes--I said I love your signs, they've never steered me wrong. Flash forward about 4 years later, my wallet was stolen. Trying to feed 5, I went on an early Saturday morning, filled my cart with $78 worth of groceries. I obviously hadn't had my cup of java, and forgot when I went to pay that my wallet was awol. Art noticed what was going on, I said I'll be back in 5 minutes with the cash from the hubby, and this classy gentleman said, "No dear, I know you're in here all of the time, take the groceries, I trust you, just next time you're here you can settle the bill." It was a lesson in humanity as well as great food to have this man be so kind after having my wallet stolen 12 hours earlier. One of my favorite establishments, I still have a 23 year old hanging pothos plant he sold me! You'll be sorely missed in Dearborn! read more

Fantastic deli trays! I purchased a large meat tray, fruit tray and veggie tray for my group. Garrett helped me choose meats and cheeses (so many choices!!) which I appreciated. My secretary picked it up and we walked in for lunch we all said WOW, this is gorgeous! It tasted wonderful and we had plenty to feed others in the office as well. This business has gone downhill recently. The prices are outrageous for the quality of the item. I wouldn't mind paying extra if the product was worth it. It wasn't. The red peppers were really pricey, but they were definitely not fresh. They looked like they had been there for quite some time. Had to pass on those. The cucumbers were the same...they must have been sitting there for awhile. Bought some peanuts...definitely not fresh. The lunch meat must not sell well. I bought a couple of items and within 2 days everything was slimy. I've bought lunch meat from other stores and it lasts longer than 2 days. Glad I didn't buy a lot. I've seen expired items in the refrigerated section. Needless to say, I'm done shopping there. I wouldn't be surprised if the store closes their doors soon, which would be a shame...they used to have fresh products and the prices used to be fairly reasonable. read more

Every time I come into town I shop here for vegetables and meat. Good customer service and the place is clean. I recently purchased ground pork, veal, and chuck for meatballs. I also purchased store made Italian sausage. Not many places make their own sausage. The meat and sausage were very fresh and turned out great in my red sauce. This is a good little market for vegetables and meats. Don't forget the cookies in the corner that are some of the cookies you have not seen in a while. Been going here for years, but in 2019 the quality suddenly dropped precipitously - smaller selection of veggies, often of inferior quality (e.g., all the beets are soft and squishy). Wife and I have been wondering, what's happened? Found out that the original owner sold it in December of 2018 - it all clicks. There is one employee who is there constantly who is belligerent and often seems irritated by the presence of customers. Today (11/24) an elderly woman was asking about the romaine lettuce, which has been recalled nationwide for e coli, and he kept arguing with her that it was "fake news". We were in there maybe twenty minutes and the entire time he was berating her while other staff looked on. Setting aside the optics of a grown man yelling at a little old lady for 20 minutes plus, this is dangerous and ignorant. I can't imagine that Art (the original owner, who passed a couple months ago) would have knowingly disregarded a federal recall, and he certainly wouldn't have treated his customers this way. read more

This is the type of market that my grandparents would go to. No bells or whistles here just friendly reliable service coupled with solid produce and great prices. A solid selection of staple produce which is fairly priced and they have a good turn over so you don't come across anything bad or rotten. If you are into planting your own garden, in the spring they carry a nice assortment of vegetable plants and flowers. They also carry a lot of meats both deli (Boars head) and butchered which are also very reasonably priced. You can also find cheeses, sauces ice creams and other shelf stable products. If you need something that they don't carry if you talk to the owner he will make an attempt to get it for you the next time. The staff has always been very friendly and the owner is one of those old school types who has been doing this for years and understands how to listen and be kind to his customers. I will always remember the time he gave my daughters a treat when they were young and just recently he offered to order up some plants he was not carrying. read more

I have shopped here for years and fondly remember when Art still ran the market. It used to be a wonderful store and if you came here in the afternoon it was so busy that you'd be lucky to get a parking space. I dropped in a few days ago and there was nary a customer to be found. I made my way to the meat counter. I was the only customer there and while there was plenty of staff behind the counter nobody seemed interested in helping me (as I stood there awkwardly waiting.) I wasn't greeted, I was simply ignored while the staff engaged in a private conversation until a nice guy working over in the deli asked (nicely) if I needed help. He was the only bright spot for there for me. When I got home, I found that the ground meat that I ended up purchasing was brown on the inside but not bad enough to return or anything. I used to love this store and I feel bad that it has gone downhill. I hope that they take a page out of Art's old playbook and return to the days when customer service was the priority...I really hope that they turn things around or they won't be around too much longer. I like to shop local but I won't be going back there anytime soon. read more

This is a wonderful neighborhood farm market with a full service meat and deli counter. They have Angus beef, Dearborn Sausage products, and all kinds of other poultry and meat items, as well. Great prices on fresh veggies and fruits and meat---often much less expensive and certainly always fresher than your local big grocery store. They even have plants in the spring and summer, fresh flower bouquets, pumpkins, hay bales, and corn stalks for the fall. They also carry a good line of Michigan-made products, as well. They have canned goods, dairy products, and ice cream, too. Don't be fooled by the no-frills exterior; I've been going here for years and I have always been satisfied with my purchases. read more

I regularly shop for produce as well as cheeses and breads at this farm market. Their cheese is really great. Mostly standard varieties but they do have a smoked gouda that is amazing. Their meat always looks really fresh. The prices on produce can't be beat. It is a tiny place though and it tends to get crowded. But I will say that the deli line goes pretty quickly, even when it's long. There are usually at least 5 or 6 employees working the deli counter. read more

I've patronized this neighborhood shop for years. Lately, I'm having a problem with the freshness of their meat. I buy meat one day, put it in my fridge, and the next day it's brown. I returned meat for this reason a few weeks ago and complained to the manager. I went back today, and noticed more brown, discolored meat at the meat counter today. I have no problem with the produce, but I have to find a new place to buy my meat. read more

I've been shopping at this market for years. One of the reasons I go there is for Cantoro's bread and I know I've been told that a lot of people buy it. Ever since the new owners took over, I haven't been all that fond of this market. You used to be able to walk in and there were multiple different types of lettuce. Not any longer. I was looking at the peaches one day and there was a big rotten one in the bin. That never happened with the original owner. When I asked about the bread today, some big guy asked what we were talking about and I asked if they no longer carried Cantoro's. He said we haven't had it for about a year. First of all, the new owners haven't been there for a year and the original owner ALWAYS carried it. Then he said, yes, we carry it. Which is it? You do or you don't? From now on I'm a Trentwood Farms shopper. It's a beautiful market and I can hit it on my way home from Wyandotte. read more

Hate the shopping carts! You cant put anything in the front top part of the cart because it will fall out and you can't lift that part flat part up to block the holes. The carts are too deep so an older person has problems reaching for their items. The people in the deli are really slow. In peak times, they need to move a bit and they just take their sweet time. The cashiers never say thank you...just have a good day if you're lucky. The lunch meats aren't that fresh and don't last but a few days. I haven't been in there for well over 2 months. I'm a big fan of this place. I've been lucky enough to stop by during what seems to be non-peak times, because I fucking hate crowds so I can't speak to the busyness of the place during the popular times during the day/week. I have three major gripes about this place which isn't really a deal-breaker, but it's an inconvenience in my book. No hand-held baskets, huge grocery carts, and they don't accept AMEX. Can we please at least fix the cart situation? I swear the carts are bigger than Meijer carts, and this place isn't half the size of a CVS. Oh well, enough complaining. Their prices are great on meats, deli, produce and fruit. I'm in love with the garlic sauce they sell. I put that shit on everything! The ground sirloin is fresh, they sell the Oakwood brand Vienna bread, and also sell raspberry Kolachy from Bartz Bakery on Telegraph. I just saw Paczki's the other day for CHEAP! I think a half-dozen was $3.99 or something. Way cheaper than Meijer or Kroger, so suck it! I'd like to see DFM stock some pita bread from Yasmeen Bakery, and it would be SUPER COOL to see some Baklava from either Yasmeen or Sajouna sold here too. I love Baklava and I'm sure I'm not the only one. We're in Dearborn, after all. I'd also like to see them open a little past 7pm (how about 8pm?) during winter. That would be super cool. During late fall or early winter, they sell wreaths and grave blankets outside too, and they're all quite lovely. I regret not picking up a couple of each to place on my parents gravesites.
