Firstly, I went in and was actually listened to rather than having the Dr wait for me to stop talking. He never interrupted me and let me interrupt him, when I did so accidentally. I regularly feel Dr's don't listen to me. Sure, their training is in medicine and they are the experts, but I am certainly the expert at what I am experiencing. If I feel regularly shut down as a man, I can only imagine how women are made to feel with most doctors. So this first off was an excellent sign. Secondly, he was friendly, upbeat and polite. That's not necessary but a nice touch. On to the checkup. He was methodical. He told me exactly what he was doing. When I told him I thought my BP was a little high on his machine, rather than ignoring me he did a second check to ensure it was correct. He was knowledgeable about my ailments, my medications and I didn't get the feeling he was just trying to rush me out the door to increase his turnover cash. This guy is aces in my books and I changed my primary care physician to him today. I'm angry I didn't find a doctor like him sooner. I've only seen him once and his businessman paraphernalia is a little disconcerting. I like money too but it makes me uneasy. I had to sign a form saying I am responsible for the full final cost. Most doctors I've seen will charge a high amount for the insurance and "forgive" the rest. Gotta say that makes me uneasy as well. We'll see how it goes going forward in terms of how badly it hits my wallet and I will update.

I actually suspect that her staff may be adding all these 5 star reviews to keep the rating balance alive - but I digress...) and concur with the majority of the rest. I saw Dr. Stroud in this office. I'm reviewing here because neither the practice - LICH Family Medicine - or the doctor I saw have an entry yet on YELP. The doctors at this practice are truly, truly good, solid doctors. Dr. Stroud could occasionally be hurried and scatter brained, but most of the time she listened and responded well to most of my concerns. The problem is that in a doctor's office, quite a bit of your time is spent dealing with the office staff. And at this practice, the primary issue is absolutely their abominable, insufferable, HORRIBLE staff. They are unfailingly inappropriately loud, rude, dismissive, unhelpful, and generally the textbook definition of poor customer service and patient care. The last straw with this office (and there were many before this one) was this past Monday when I found myself knee deep in throes of the flu, pregnant, with chronic respiratory disease. I called the office first thing that morning to see if I could get an appointment to see Dr, Stroud. I got the voicemail (as usual, no one EVER picks up the phone at this practice) and was reminded that there were walk in hours that day. I know what walk in hours mean at LICH Family Med - it means HOURS and HOURS of interminable waiting - so I decided to stay on the phone and see if I could reach a person just to make sure that it wasn't at all possible to get an appointment. After several attempts, including redialing the number over and over again and getting no one, I decided to just show up. When I did, the receptionist, after making me wait for her to finish her personal conversaiton with another member of the staff, unceremoniously informed me that one of the doctors was on vacation, the other was sick, and that I could return on Wednesday - two days later - if I wanted to be seen. First of all, if they had picked up the phone EVER I could have avoided dragging myself, flu riddled, pregnant and on the verge of an asthma attack to the office in the first place. Second of all, since there are no doctors in and therefore no patients to see, it BAFFLES me why the fact that walk in hours were effectively canceled was not added to the voicemail - especially since they never answer the phone. Did I mention NEVER? Yeah - NEVER. It was a blessing in disguise though, because after meaning to for months now, I finally got off my duff and found a new internist. I made an appointment at a wonderful practice in the city with a person, in 10 minutes flat. My doctor saw me 15 minutes after I walked into the office. He determined that I needed to see a specialist, so the staff made an appointment for me with a pulmonologist while I received breathing treatments in the office. (!!!) I was treated like a sick patient and a paying customer and I didn't have to wait for anyone to finish discussing thier weekend to attend to me the entire time I was there. I bet the billing will even be done correctly - the impossibility of which was a foregone conclusion at LICHFM. I don't know why or how LICH Family Medicine continues to operate the way they do and keep patients, but I'm done with them for good. They can fail to call in refills, fail to read charts, smack gum while they loudly discuss people's charts, and otherwise display with precision what it means to give bottom of the barrel service with someone else from now on. I'll take my business elsewhere.

She is thorough and thoughtful in her assessments and recommendations. She always presents a number of options and fully supports what you end up choosing. She committed to helping you work through whatever issue you are facing. She is smart, asks the right questions but also tell it to you straight! I have never felt rushed by her. We feel so incredibly lucky to have her as our doctor. Every single time either of us see her, we swoon over her for days. Simply out, we LOVE her.

Her bedside manner is awful and the wait times ridiculous. As a 15 year old she charged me $50 I couldn't afford for cancelling the day before an appointment . So she's allowed to make you wait for hours but if you need a concession to her extremely strict cancellation policy she's heartless. Despite her always booking way too many patients in a day anyway. It's all about the money for her. If you have Medicaid or Medicare she will treat you like garbage. I cancelled my appointment 21 hours in advance and was again rudely told that I would be charged $150 because I missed their 24 hour cancellation period. I asked for a recommendation for a dermatologist and was given the name of a surly unhelpful dermatologist I had been to once 10 years ago. There was nothing about this experience that was positive.

I love hearing her explain her thinking and the relationships between conditions, allergies, lifestyle, etc. I think the reason she's not for everyone is in how you look at medical care. If you want someone to simply treat one ailment and leave it at that or blindly send you for tests you think you need then I suggest you go to an urgent care clinic. Dr Glass is holistic in her approach and she treats the whole patient, always searching for root causes, preventative care and ways to make you feel better, overall. She has referred me to specialists but also told me if they were out of network or I found someone I preferred that was fine too. I don't believe she did it for the referral bonus at all, in fact, many times she has suggested I try natural and over the counter treatments before going to a specialist.
