The office is in a brownstone it looks like an the waiting area was nice. The Receptionist had me fill out some forms then I was on my way with Dr. Grishina. She was very nice and asked me the general medical questions & history. Then she gave me an overall checkup. She drew blood, which I hate doing but she was gentle and I didn't feel a thing. After that she told me when I get my results back she will give me a call. Which she did not too long ago. It's hard to find a doctor these days you can feel comfortable with and who aren't pushy or rude. I really like her and I feel good knowing I have a place to go to if I have an issue.

She is thorough and thoughtful in her assessments and recommendations. She always presents a number of options and fully supports what you end up choosing. She committed to helping you work through whatever issue you are facing. She is smart, asks the right questions but also tell it to you straight! I have never felt rushed by her. We feel so incredibly lucky to have her as our doctor. Every single time either of us see her, we swoon over her for days. Simply out, we LOVE her.

The experience could be better in one way sometimes I wish the staff was more patient friendly - they can sometimes not be friendly and helpful and there is a wait even though you have a scheduled appointment time. They have also lost my paperwork that I made to point to make sure they had more than once.   Reason I cannot give this a 5 star review the practice and staff overall. When someone mentioned "integrative medicince" might be what I should be looking at I remembered the sign for "Park Slope Integrative Medicine" around the corner, and checked our Dr. Chiniwala's website. I am SOOOO glad I made this connection. We have been working together for more than a year. And I mean it: "working together". I don't feel alone. I feel heard and respected. Dr. Chiniwala has so much knowledge to share, but she does so without forcing it upon you. I have made significant changes to my diet and lifestyle since working with Dr. Chiniwala, and all to my great benefit. I only wish I had found her sooner.

I think the friend recommended Dr. Litvinova because she would sometimes recommend nontraditional medicines. I'm not a big believer in nontraditional medicine, but I went anyway for a couple of years. I eventually went elsewhere--to other doctors who were just ok at best. But I kept looking. And I asked another friend where she went. She and her husband grew up in Brooklyn and I thought they'd be very smart about finding a great doctor. And their doctor turned out to be Dr. Litvinova. So I decided to give her another shot. And as soon as I saw her again after many years, I remembered why I'd stopped seeing her. From the moment she walks into the room, I get a strong feeling she wants to get out of there as quickly as possible. I understand that most doctors are under extreme pressure to limit the time they spend with each patient, but most of the ones I've encountered are at least better at hiding it than Dr. Litvinova. And this "rush rush rush" mentality carries over to her office staff. Call me crazy, old fashioned, cranky, whatever you like, but I expect something more from my primary care provider.

Drugs are often not good for you in the long run. I'm not sure if he is still in practice, retired maybe (?). It's an old office with old school equipment. It still works. Listen people, primary care physicians most important asset is to listen and assess. All the physical and fancy equipment is the least important. Today 2025 I take bp meds as needed although that's not what's recommended by most doctors these days. The alternative methods weren't really working for me. High bp runs in my family unfortunately.

I finally reached the admin, who couldn't find the results. I asked to talk to doctor; was promised he would call me back. Never called; I called back twice during office hours and there was a machine that told me to leave a message (even though it was during "office hours.") This may be "old school" medicine, but seriously, there are better ways to run a practice than this....

Pro's: close to my apartment, Dr. Ahmad was nice enough when I met him in person. Some of the staff were really trying. Con's: you have to advocate for yourself SO HARD here and even be aggressive just to get things done and moving, since the staff are so disorganized and unprofessional. I needed a copy of my echo and it turned into the most difficult process, involving me calling and talking to multiple staff and insisting I needed the reports that my pulmonologist required instead of a follow-up / going in person and talking to multiple staff just to slowly find out they didn't have anyone who knew how to export a sonogram file / running to Walgreens to get a USB for them / dropping that off / returning the next day when the person that knew how to export the file was in. Also, I was told I'd get the results on a Saturday, sure enough got a call, but was from a very confused Dr. Ahmad who asked me why he was calling me, then said he'd call back and hung up? I reached out Tuesday when I hadn't heard from him and after much back and forth the staff said he's call me the next day. He did call and report was abnormal. His explanation of what they found was very limited and without any detail on the severity etc. He told me he'd refer me to another specialist that I needed, asked for my email, then took 2 days to send a 1-line referral. The communication between the staff throughout the process was the worst, including resulting in me getting an EKG instead of an echo which the doc agreed was totally unnecessary.

All patients, including myself, were treated n the most condescending manner by staff who were largely incompetent at best and on some cases showed signs of poor health themselves. In my experience I witnessed and experienced inappropriate orders and insufficient information given to patients at appointments, a well as upon follow up. By far, my most serious complaint is that it took three months, multiple calls, and a string of increasingly threatening messages with regard to my privacy rights under HIPAA to obtain the results of the cardiology workup for which I'd been referred to Dr. Ahmad to perform and are my lawful right to possess. It would appear that both the doctor and the administrative staff at Park Slope Cardiac and Diagnostic Services are not only perfect models of the Dunning-Kreuger Effect, but also consider themselves to be above the law with respect to their lawful obligations to their patients.

I'm of the belief that an appointment is an appointment. I am now trying for a morning visit, in hopes it won't be so crazy. I think that's the casualty of having a caring doctor - he takes time with everybody!

I only went to his office once so have no idea how he manages medical problems. All I know is that first impressions are lasting and in this case I found Dr. Berlin unacceptable as medical provider.
