Since I wanted my daughter to start therapy as soon as possible, I cleared my schedule and so did my husband (he had to be at work by 9), so that we could make it. We waited until 8:11 am, no one was there. I called them and no one answered. Needless to say, I am going to find another therapist who can keep appointments.

I was very disappointed with the service that we didn't even get a chance to receive due to the lack of responses. I reached out to an open path team member cancelled my membership & was said to be getting my refund back. Which was nice . However I do wish I would've got in the service instead hopefully in the future they're more on it with their responses for their future clients.

I was fortunate enough to have an option at Excelsior House to build my new life. The staff faces many challenges between shift changes, varying degrees of hostility, and constant changes with health care policy ESPECIALLY NOW. But they provide a safe and very well managed program where I was able to focus on recovering and healing many deep and long standing issues in my life. The Group Sessions were very well managed and I enjoyed the plentiful resources given to those who needed additional services, such as housing, or employment, or medical services. The Staff and Administration was wonderful, I really miss some of them. Certainly there were challenges but every day we were fed, kept safe, given medications. The rooms are shared by two people and they're required to be kept clean with daily chores. The rehabilitation through structured chores pairs patients up together in teams of 2 or 3 people and each day they rotate. I certainly enjoyed cooking and found that to be my favorite. When it came to confronting personal issues, each day we were having 2 group sessions, and at least an hour and a half to research and examine what our "new lives" would be like. There would seem to be a lot of repetition but that is necessary. I felt safe and comfortable even with challenges I had with certain staff members as they were very infrequent and mostly resolved. I'm on day 35 of my new life and I couldn't have done it without being there. I miss everyone, I miss the once a day walks the staff would supervise, and working together to play games in the evening. They have 2 computers and a very nice living room to use, I would on occasion join to watch movies lol! the restrictions on moving around and going out were very challenging for me, but they were necessary. In all I have a very favorable scenario and I'll miss Courtney, Matt, Vanessa, Toya, Trebin, Shelly, and Arianna and although I may have forgotten names, there are a couple of special ladies that provided transportation for me to handle personal things that required supervision and I hope they know they're missed too!

What sets Sheena apart from other like professionals is her goal oriented approach. Sheena takes her time in molding her coaching model to fit her client. For me specifically, I wanted to track my progress. Sheena knows how I am about tangible results, haha! That being said every quarter I hit milestones that proved I was blooming in ways I never have. It has been a revitalizing, emotional, thrilling, honest, and sometimes aggravating journey - but one that has truly changed my life thanks to Sheena. She also freely and kindly shares her learnings and knowledge regularly which provides added value on top of the sessions. I always come away with resources, readings, or tips to keep me motivated in-between sessions to keep on keeping on. She is not overbearing, over-communicative, intrusive, or adamant. She is inspiring in her own right. I highly recommend any one of Sheena's many offerings. The hardest part of committing to this type of service is finding the right person you connect with and trust. Sheena hands down is that person.

----AVOID ----- Many years ago, I was doing therapy with…read morethese people and found it very helpful back in the 90s and 2000. I found them to be a good hub for mental health services. I had gone in for various crisis and found the therapist, compassionate and trained pretty well. UNTIL 2015 Sadly they have lost their mentor (they changed administrations because she died in 2014 ) -- I was **deeply damaged** by my last experience with them. My father had just died and my mother too. I was really floundering for the first time in my life. They became hostile towards me and literally *kicked me out. ! The psychiatrist had recommended that I use CBT training therapy for my anxiety, and when I requested that, they use that as an excuse to kick me out. I have never met anyone with less compassion than Therapist. It was a huge betrayal, and I would not recommend this to anyone, it used to be a really good facility, but you can see how the stars are going down They don't have good selection or supervision of their interns so you're kind of left with whatever Therapist unable to deal with my grief that she herself freaked out and went to the administrators and so forth, so I have no anger towards them, but I know they've lost their way AVOID!!!!!! The psychiatrist that they have a pretty good, but they only come once a week and give medicines. I found them more helpful than the interns. (these are from UCLA and very well trained psychiatrist) Blaming me for them** not having the CBT after the psych told me I needed? Beyond ridiculous. I almost reported them to the ombudsman, but I decided not to. Since I was in so much grief, I barely had enough energy to get out of bed never mind battling these people but I see that they've been closed down and I can see why

Thirteen years ago a dear friend recommended Rebecca, and I continue to feel so incredibly fortunate that she did. To this day, Rebecca is the only therapist I've seen since. When I had to move away from the El Segundo area, I continued to see Rebecca through phone sessions, and now we are fortunately in the "Age of Zoom" where our sessions continue remotely. I genuinely consider Rebecca to be a life-changer. It's not coincidental that I launched my career less than one year after my first meeting with her; looking back, there's no way I would have had the focus and the self-assuredness to move forward with realizing my dreams, let alone feel like I had a right to them. If you need help, and you've had the good fortune to stumble upon Rebecca's profile and are reading this, count your lucky stars and get in touch with her.
