Inspired by a NYTImes review of a Bronx restaurant that serves incredible pork, I did a Yelp search on "lechon" and came up with this 2-1/2-month-old restaurant. Thank you Yelp reviewers! A bit past noon, we walked into a nearly empty dining room. It was immediately filled by the warm hospitality of two women who greeted us like long-lost relatives. They sat us down, took us through the menu, made a couple of recommendations, then got to cooking. The food: piping hot, huge portions, very flavorful. My wife loved the Puerto Rican chicken stew; I had the same reaction to my roast pork sandwich. The only thing we finished were the empanadas--they were simply too good to leave any behind. Our gracious hosts treated us to a dessert of powdered chips and a homemade guava dipping sauce--fabulous! Service: attentive. Value: we took home as much food as we ate!

Nice business... Affordable, delicious food! Husband got the steak sandwich... Really good! I got a half pound of the pork that was tasty... Some pieces a bit dry but overall a steal! We also got casava... I could have ate those all night . We will be back for sure!

Sandwiches were so flavorful! It is a small place however it wasn't crowded when I arrived and I was able to choose my seat. The rice was very tasty and the empanadas were amazing as well! The staff was also very friendly. Will be back again !

My mom and I were in the neighborhood walking the dog and searching on google for a place to drink a coffee we found Deborincuba. We were not hungry since we ate before but were craving some coffee so we stopped here and decided to also add some empanadas as snacks. The restaurant wasn't busy so it didn't take long although they do have a sign saying to please be patient because everything its make at the moment so it might takes a little longer. My mom order a beef empanada and I ordered a Chicken one. When the snacks and coffee arrived I was actually in shock of how AMAZING this empanadas tasted. It had meat from the beginning to the end, no gap in between. Since they made this empanadas fresh, they were warm and it also comes with a mayoketchup sauce. Coffee was also very good, it was truly a real Cuban cafe con leche. We decided to placed an order of some pastry that reminds me a puerto rico desert call pastelillos de guayaba (Guava puff ) but this one were different, they were like a tortillas shapes, it call besitos tropical with a side of guava. When I am telling those things were AMAZING it was because they were amazing. We couldn't stop eating them, so addicting. The owner also came to talk with us for a bit, a very lovely lady, she is half cuban and half puertorican so she has the best of both world. In overall I give this place 10/10. Only subjection I would give its to maybe change the glass tint on front, you can't barely see inside so you are not sure if they were open or close until you actually push the door. Other than that highly recommended, next time we need to go back to order food since we didn't this time.

I am so happy I now know DeBorincuba! The food is outstanding. It is also a little different from the usual places, which is refreshing. The steak Jibarito is FANTASTIC! The shrimp, beef and Cuban empanadas are awesome. I lived the Cuban and Puerto Rican rice equally. I would not know how to pick between them. And the Besitos! Where has homemade guava sauce been all my life. The perfect crunch and sauce. Wonderful food!

Placed an online order. They canceled it 10min after the order was supposed to be delivered. No notice at all. Unprofessional.

Kinda small…read morelocation but they make the best of it.. i ordered tostones which are fried plantains and fried pork belly...which is exactly what it sounds like. I was a huge fan of the tostones, it was crispy and crunchy and fried to perfection. They put tooo much garlic oil on mines but still edible. I was not a huge fan of the fried pork belly.. it was like I liked it bc I was hungry but I didn't like it enough to come back and order it again.. I think it was the seasoning and it was overly salty for me... besides that it was cooked to perfection. Maybe I need to come back and try something else on the menu but for now it's not a place I would rush back to and eat at.. I'm sorry I hate being mean but I have to be honest.

We were greeted with a smile and guided to choose our own table. A basket of bread and butter was brought over promptly. I ordered appetizers, tostones rellenos de lechón and carne frita. They came out at the same time as the entrees. It only took about 10 minutes! We ordered a volcan with steak in red sauce (mofongo relleno de bistec en salsa), breaded chicken breast and lechón with arroz con gandules. The food was spectacular! Everything was very well seasoned and reminded me of home (born and raised in PR, moved here as an adult). I would definitely recommend that anyone come here for authentic Puerto Rican food. Be mindful that they are very generous with their portion sizes. We ended up taking about half of it home. There are worse problems one can have. :-)

A beautiful little place, tucked away in a cozy corner of a small shopping center, you'd never expect such flavors and such an escape. With a larger place, walk ins would probably be handled fine. When I went, we felt lucky showing up when we did, as it soon filled up inside, such that a couple had to be turned away at the door. Plantain soup. It was a special, and special it was. The drinks were equally phenomenal. And the service was delightful. Itching to go back before they make their move.

The owner Eric is so sweet and down to earth he makes you feel like an old friend visiting from the homeland. Katie was supper sweet and very informative on all the menu and drinks. I decided to try the Entre Las Sabanas made with Bacardi & Conac it was so good I asked for a second one. My wife had Tamarindo non alcohol because she was driving, we also asked for the Hummus de Gandules that was so different and so yummy served with plantain chips. For dinner I had shrimps with arroz blanco and pink beans my dinner was so good. My wife had vistec encebollado with rice and beans, she loved it. Our dessert was pudding de pan. It's a must restaurant to visit if you like Puerto Rican food. I highly recommend this restaurant and on weekends it's highly recommend to make reservations. I will certainly return again.
