I was skeptical to go with this person because there were no reviews but once I met him, I could tell he was professional. I did have to use a translator a few times, but if he didn't understand, he definitely asked questions and was very understanding. I highly recommend this individual, and now we will be on a biweekly rotation for grass!

Dishonest, Inconsistent, and Not Worth Hiring…read more I usually only leave positive reviews, but after years of giving John McAvoy Landscaping chances, I feel it's important to share my experience. The first two summers were just average, but this year has been extremely disappointing. * The lawn was constantly cut unevenly, and I had to call every week asking them to lower the mower deck. * Despite being told weeds would be taken care of, they were done inconsistently (some weeks partially, some not at all) and eventually ignored completely. * Most recently, the crew didn't even attempt the weeds along the sidewalk -- they just skipped that side of the house altogether. After reviewing my home's camera footage, it was clear very little work was being done. When I finally confronted the issue, I was told they "don't do weeds" and only mow -- even though the service structure was different in previous years and this was never communicated upfront. The lack of honesty, poor communication, and overall shotty work make this the worst landscaping experience I've had. Unreliable, inconsistent, and not worth hiring.

He made a few suggestions for upgrades around our yard. Both backyard and front walkway. After going to the nursery that they deal with that same very day, we placed our order. Replacing two centennial hollies with black mulch was a start. Followed by 3 hostas by our walkway. Also added a small knock out bush (rose) , along with one smallish gold mop by the front corner. It took the 4 guys a tad over an hour to get everything planted. Prices are reasonable. Expect to wait a few weeks for your work to be completed.
