Joe promised, and Joe delivered. When my wife and I moved out of Brooklyn and bought our home in East Brunswick, we fell in love with all the landscaping the previous owners meticulously put in. Our property felt like a botanical garden, far exceeding the standard run-of-the-mill landscaping jobs you see in most neighborhoods. What I didn't realize at the time was how completely unprepared I was to maintain this level of landscaping. Even after renewing the previous owners' contract with Broehl's (the local gold standard for lawn care and maintenance) there was still too much to do. Unfortunately, I have a black thumb for this kind of thing, and there's only so many checks I can afford to write to try and keep things looking good. So for the past few years my wife and I have actually invested money in scaling *back* some of the landscaping; essentially ripping out and replacing some of the more complicated beds that have steadily been beat on over the last few brutal winters and didn't look good any more. When we met with Joe, we were clear that we wanted nice-looking beds, but nothing that would be over-the-top difficult to care for and maintain. And we wanted clear sight lines down our front yard so we could see our kids playing in the street. The overall amount of work we need to do to get our property where we really want it is pretty staggering, so Joe discussed a phased plan that would allow us to get started without breaking the bank. Long story short, he and his crew ripped out the mess of bushes and plants and undergrowth that marked the front and center portion of our lawn. He designed a simple, but elegant bed that he said would look great but wouldn't be impossible to maintain. He took photos of our property in advance, and then simulated his recommended design over the photos via computer, allowing us to "see" what it would look like before we'd have to commit. As you can see from the photos, Joe and his crew did a great job. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the work. We get a ton of compliments on the before and after. (Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of the before, but trust me -- this was a huge leap forward.) Truth be told, you're really at a disadvantage if you cannot do at least some of your own landscaping. Professional landscaping is expensive -- plain and simple. And frankly, I hate paying for it. But as I said in my previous review, Joe is a no-nonsense, honest businessman. If, as the saying goes, a man is only as good as his word, Joe is a good man. We weren't really happy with how this turned out. The job ended up being not done the way it was supposed to be, and they wanted quite a lot more to finish it. It was a very straightforward job so I didn't think this made sense. The whole thing from the get-go seemed disorganized, haphazard, rushed, and overall quite unprofessional. If you want to believe that all these other reviews... every single one... mostly from people with only 2 or 3 reviews, are all genuine five star reviews rather than fake ones, well you can if you want. This long time reviewer is warning you... be careful. Mowing services were good, but fall clean up is poor. The lanscapers left leaves piled up the perimeter of our backyard, when I reached out to management they asked for my address and I never heard from them again. I paid extra money for fall clean up and they did not deliver. Very disappointed. read more

So Joe's team just finished up on the first mow service after I called Joe just two hours ago asking if he could get me on his schedule. Not only did Joe give me a very reasonable price to take care of my lawn on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, but his team was at my house within an hour mowing and trimming. If that's not great customer service you're going to have to show me what is. The yard looks fantastic and we will use them to do the mulching and other landscaping later in the season. His crew came over blew out all the leaves from in between all my bushes, in and out of the pool area, and behind my sheds. They mowed and edged the property, and it looks fantastic. My once $4,000 budget ( the first landscaper scoffed at this for being too low!) was now a shoe string budget. With blooming trees in ruin ( a product of one failed landscaper) I called Joe in a panic. Despite quoting me a very low and realistic amount I was unable to spend any further money. Absolutely fantastic! Joe's Landscaping did an amazing job on our home! We went from a complete disaster to an incredibly beautiful exterior! They came when they said they would be there, on time, and didn't finish until THEY were finished with the job. Had to come back the next day but made sure everything they quoted us got done.
