That means living in a community with other men from all different walks of life, geographic areas, age differences, gender and/or sexual preferences. In reminds me somewhat of a military organization, in that people from all walks of life, economic positions, careers, etc. live together. This is in fact part of the treatment in learning how to become tolerant, share community responsibilities, self-govern (to a limited extent), and become a contributing member of a community. For some it is difficult, in that they have never had the experience or requirements to do so. It's about growth on an individual basis, in relational and interpersonal skills, in self-confidence, reliance on others, and examining the basis of your specific issue. Whether it's a substance or process addiction, there are many similar foundational actions, behaviors, traumas that contribute to our (clients) issues and helps build a bond between us (clients). One of the strengths of the organization is that nearly everyone of the staff, both support and therapists have been clients at Prescott House and are in recovery themselves. This gives them incredible "street creds", as they have been on the clients end and understand the issues the clients are dealing with. They also know how to get a client to look at themselves, take responsibility, learn how to change behaviors, thoughts, actions, and alternatives to the substance/process of choice. They are active in also working with the family of the clients, (those left to sit in the mess we left), and provide a space for family members to share the impact on them and integration back into the family, with boundaries, relapse prevention programs, relationship building plans. They also use whole person approach with using various outside practitioners, from spiritual advisors, fitness/health growth, life coaching/yoga, outside activities, meditation and mindfulness classes. These are things that helped me while a client and after when back home repairing relationships that have caused trauma of various levels, benefits of continuing individual treatment plans and Twelve Step programs. This also includes building support networks both with other clients here at P House and back in our own community. I have built some very close relationships here that will be in my life for a very long time. If you are really ready to do something about your addiction, the impact on your life and the life of countless others and do some hard work and return to have a meaningful life, and enjoy each day as a gift, then I recommend that you give serious consideration to seeking treatment at Prescott House. No help, just excuses. After all she was a D.N.R. And then, a lot of morphine to dull things even more. These things happen, don't you know?? Just covering their asses, and Covid is the great excuse. I called last week to check up on her, only to find out that she passed away 2 weeks earlier. No phone call, no letter, No notice. I am still trying to find out where my mother's corpse is located. Restraints are not allowed but they could have lowered his bed and put pads on either side of his bed. No, instead they called me to meet him at the ER. He just missed hitting his eye on the air conditioner and was a bloody mess. Very old, dark and dingy in appearance. I would never go back there again with someone I love. The next nursing home always kept his bed lowered to the floor with thick pads on either side to protect him should he fall.

He came in as a broken man with all of his morals and values had disappeared. He was 85 pounds and a total mess been living on the streets for years. My girlfriend spent a lot of money on postage and they can't even return it to the sender for me. I have them on tape saying they would send my items and have been getting the run around for months. Chris refuses to return my personal belongings! The stress is causing me to have a breakdown which is what brought me there in the first place! I don't wanna relapse over this nonsense that has nothing to do with me. I had no choice in the rehab I was going to so stealing my clothes is really disappointing. I hope to get this issue resolved in a timely manner but Chris keeps giving me the run around.

I could not even sleep it was so darn hot. They attempted to push drugs on me that I did not need. When I checked out I was given a bag with 3 prescriptions. No instructions or reasons given. I cannot believe places like this are legally allowed to operate, much less subsidized by taxpayer money. No wonder most of their positive reviews were written by staff. And duplicated. DO NOT GO HERE. Unless you need free/crappy food and/or enjoy being babysat by ex-addicts in their 20's who get free housing in return for said babysitting services. This place is 100% a TOTAL JOKE.
