REALITY: on the start date it went up tp $900/day. (I should have see the flags then). They NEVER put in an 8 hour day. Came late every day and left as soon as 2.5 hours early. A total of 9.75 hours. Still charged me for full days. PROBLEMS: 1.) The shower pan did NOT meet the shower wall (big problem). 2.)TOO frequently they did not have the equiptment to complete their task. (a ladder a drill or what ever) 3.) They also blamed eachother for not ordering or bring supplies. 4.)My shower hot and cold were reversed and they insisted the tail of the handle pointed to the selection (not the handle itself). 5.)the light fixture was not centered 6.) I opted to pay for labor and materials separately. When it came time to settle. He had a bunch of loose receipts (inculding dated before my job started). Not all of the returns were included as well. Do youself a favor go elsewhere. I have had 6 other houses fully renovated without this nightmare. Additionaly: he said the shower door would be $700 and it was $1777. He is a handyman (and not the handy) posing as a contractor. He also through a hissy fit when I wanted to review the receipts.

We were recommended to use Sharp's Painting to paint the interior of our newly acquired 4 bedroom…read moreriver house in Sylva by a local vacation rental company who had heard of his work. While we were at first reluctant to trust this company without personally supervising, we were extremely pleased with the outcome! Shaun's wife helped us choose the color (by phone!) and we love the "Revere Pewter" color suggested. No touch-ups were necessary and he left the place immaculate. Subsequently, we decided to let him paint the 3 story outside decking and stairs along with some minor repairs. Again, very happy with his work. Not any sloppy work whatsoever. Then, we arranged for him to re-stain and do minor repairs on our own vacation home nearby. The two story wrap around porch and 3 sets of stairs had been stripped of previous sealant. He re-pressured washed and stained, and sealed all of it. It looked fantastic! All of his work was very reasonably priced and done in a timely manner. We will arrange for him to paint the outside of our home within the year. Shaun is talented , personable, dependable and hard-working. My husband and I feel very comfortable recommending Sharp's Painting! Rex and Susan Sentell Sylva, NC

Where to start (perhaps with recent reviews is where we should have)? Our experience with Shaun has…read morebeen extremely disappointing and costly. The project has now dragged on for more than 9 weeks, with MOST work still incomplete. When Shaun does show up, he frequently arrives after 10:00 or 11:00 a.m. and often works only three to four hours before leaving. There have also been numerous occasions when he has said he would be there and simply did not show up (and no call), followed by one excuse after another. We also have video documenting a lot of the work, including him not pressure washing the entire house before painting. He simply oil spayed over large clumps of dirt. His work has been erratic and inconsistent, with areas started, skipped, or approached without what another professional considered proper preparation. One of our biggest concerns has been the lack of communication and the protection of our property while painting. Windows, vehicles, and surrounding areas (and things) were not adequately covered or protected while he sprayed. As a result, we now have paint on our cabin windows and on our vehicles. After more than 10 weeks, it genuinely feels like we have more unwanted paint on things around the property than completed paintwork on the cabin itself. We have also read public accounts from other customers alleging that they were threatened following disputes with this company (not in person of course. Think we all know these tyoes). We cannot independently verify what happened in those situations, so I will not present those allegations as our firsthand experience. However, if those accounts are accurate, we consider threatening customers over a business dispute to be cowardly and completely unacceptable behavior -- but they are welcome to it if in person. This is no longer simply a matter of being dissatisfied with the quality of the work. We are now pursuing approximately $11,000 related to incomplete work and approximately $10,000 in damages. Everything stated about our own experience is based on what we personally witnessed and documented. We have photographs, video, communications, and other records concerning the work performed, missed appointments, condition of the property, and resulting damage. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering hiring Shaun, NOT. If you do consider, carefully check references, speak with local paint suppliers and previous customers, get absolutely everything in writing, and photograph and video the condition of your property before, during, and after the work...and park your vehicles far far away. Btw - they now seem to be a one man business with only Shaun available to ignore the job and his word. We hear he lost his crew for reasons I'll assume Sharp's Painting would say not of thier doing. That accountability is, in a nutshell, what we're dealing with now. Anyone interested in seeing his 10 plus weeks, yet 15 hrs of work, please email me at daviss (@) netchamp.net. More pics to come.
