We then had them add French doors. Start to finish, the company was responsive, answered all of my questions, and gave a fair and reasonable quote. One of the qualities that I appreciate about Peter and his crew was their attention to detail. They made sure that everything matched our home (such as moldings, casings, and creating a natural look) and truly took the time to make sure that their work was quality. They communicated well throughout the project and finish in a timely manner. I would absolutely hire them in the future for other jobs in our home.

Dakota finished the work faster than I anticipated and always checked that I was satisfied with the finished product before he considered it done. I went through hell wIth Poorman's years ago they gave me an 11k estimate on a 620 square foot house. They made up nonsense that my basement ceiling was too short and the only unit they could sell me was an institutional grade model! BS! I called so many places, that most would only work on their installations. Doc Dancers price structure and Maintenance practices were really unfair to the bottom. I'd lost all faith in Trane and Bryant. There is no need to pay for all that nonsense advertising. Heil is an old USA company since 1929, they were swallowed by sears and whirlpool and later bought by Carrier. They are "generic" and easy to work on and have a 20 yeaar warranty. My advice is go with an entrepreneur you can build a relationship with. Like the tv repair man used to be in the 1980s. Go corporate and get a trainee, and get moped up, or go small with an artist who stands proudly beside his own work. Kevin is no nonsense. I trust him. I recommend him. Go Manz. You know it's going to be a problem when the owner calls you and can't even understand what you want after 3 times. Seriously, the guy couldn't get it right AT ALL. To be clear (again), I just wanted a wall unit AC replaced now. And I wanted an estimate only for future central air. Just two simple things. When I expressed a bit of frustration of not being able to hear him on the phone because there was so much background noise on his end and that he wasn't understanding me after the third time, he simply just hung up. Just like that: hung up. I tried to return the phone call because surely he just doesn't hang up on potential customers after less than a minute, right? It went to voicemail, no return from him. If this is an indication of his customer service, you're probably better-served by someone capable of showing interest and a bit of courtesy. It goes a long way when you're trying to spend money, right?

On the first day they arrived, they were putting canvases on the floor and he told his workers that we were replacing the flooring so they didn't have to be that careful. I reminded them, I would not be replacing the flooring right away so please be careful. Ervin Bros. painted our family room and loft area walls and removed our popcorn ceilings and replaced it with Spanish lace. They started March 18th and finished on March 20th. I paid them in full on that date. (March 20, 2020) After they finished the painting, they removed the scaffolding and canvases from the floor. I noticed several drips all over the floors and one area where they spilt a can of paint on the carpet. They tried to clean it up by removing the excess paint and left the rest on the carpet. (I have not complained about the sloppiness and damage to the flooring.) After they left on that Friday, I called Shane the following Tuesday and mentioned three small areas that needed touched up. He said he would be here that Wednesday or Thursday. Since then I have left several phones messages and an email on April 10, 2020. I was only able to reach him April 16th when I used someone else's phone. (He is apparently ignoring my phone calls.) He said he was staying home because of the state shut down for the pandemic. He said when he could go back to work again "I would be first on his list" to do the touch ups. My final phone message was on July 20th. By that time, Indiana was in stage 4.5 which should allow him to complete the job. This is August 3rd and I have yet to hear from him. I had a friend call him today about a painting job and Shawn said he is booked four to six weeks out. He is doing business and he has NOT contacted me to finish this job. I noticed on Ervin's web page it states a "30-day touch-up warranty" and a "2-year paint failure warranty". It also states an "Award winning company dedicated to customer satisfaction". I think he has failed to live up to reasonable expectations let alone winning any awards. I would NOT RECOMMEND Ervin Bros. for any work you need done.

We are having the popcorn ceiling removed and retextured with spanish lace. All the workers are nice, down to earth guys that take pride in their work. It's a messy job, and we knew that going in, but they thoroughly clean up at the end of each day, even after telling them to not worry about little areas that much. If any equipment is left behind for the next day of work they always ask if it's ok to leave things in the house. Shane is very involved in the process, doesn't cut corners, and can tell he enjoys what he does. He just wants the customer to be happy with the final product. If something isn't right or ready to be moved on to the next step, it doesn't move to the next step till they are certain it will turn out well. You don't get that level of care/concern from a lot of contractors these days. Can't say enough good things about these guys!

Nothing left behind. When he was done, the septic tank was empty to the floor. Norm arrived clean. He is friendly, and professional. Fair rates. First problem - first heavy rain started coming in the LR! The worker 'forgot' to caulk the skylight?!?!! The next year my son is up there cleaning off the roof of leaves and such and finds a 12 inch cut in the middle of one of the rolls of shingle material! This was cut from a knife - clean, not a branch hitting the roof or anything. I call the owner out who 'patches' it and tells me they will come back and repair it properly after the winter. Fine. I reach out this summer and crickets. He will not call me back, not fix the roof, etc. DO NOT USE
