Yes, well thanks to the highly skilled purchasing team at Deco this is exactly what you will find. I stumbled upon this store while traveling and I am so happy that I did. It has so much variety in gifts and home decor that you will surely find something for everyone. What I love about stores like Deco is that they make it easy for you to shop for that tricky friend who has everything. Maybe they have all they need in this world, but do they have an inspirational Lizzo mug that says "100% that bitch!"? Probably not. I absolutely loved this cute store! They had the cutest things and I just wanted to buy it all. They do keep the doors shut and ask you to ring a bell to enter. You're then asked if you have an appointment, we didn't but were accommodated right away. They provide hand sanitizer at the door and ask that you put anything that you touch into baskets that are located throughout the store. They had a variety of things that were all super cool and made great souvenirs. I ended up leaving with a Christmas ornament and a moonshine glass that I adored. The employee that was there was really friendly and answered all of my questions. She was helpful without being overbearing. It's impossible for me to go in there and come out empty-handed. They have such a wide array of goods. Seriously they have thousands of items in the store. They offer things from incredibly scented candles to dog leashes and now they are the official retailer for Holly Aiken in Raleigh. Each item you pick up is so well-made and something you want to take home with you. If you're looking for the perfect addition to your home decor, look no farther, they have potted plants, painted canvases, little knick-knacks, and even lighting. Each item is unique and you're not going to look like your average basic person. I know that if I get a gift for someone here, they will love it, and well if they don't I will gladly take it off their hands. But, seriously, they have to love it. Everything is very well laid out and I give them credit for offering a wide variety of creative and unique items. The fried chicken map of the Carolinas made me laugh. It's a very left wing focused shop, which is one thing to carry rainbows and resist merch, but of course there's nothing for people who believe differently. So clearly the owners have a certain agenda. But there are just so many items with profanity on them. I'd never heard of Deco before until I was invited for a Yelp Elite event, and I'm happy that I signed up. Deco is a super dope, local owned "gift shop" like boutique. It has a ton of cute trinkets, books, handmade purses and wallets, kids items, and so much more! My favorite part was the jewelry, which was pretty pricey but cute. I really loved the flow of the store and how unique and trendy the items were. I'd recommend coming here for a gift for a person that has everything. You'll definitely be able to find something because they have a little something for everyone. Being downtown, just be prepared to park in a parking deck or drive around to find parking. Such a cute shop for gifts and locally made items! In the front of the store, they have North Carolina souvenirs like mugs, bags, keychains. You can also find creative and beautiful merchandise made by local artisans. Towards the back of the store they have fun items like coasters with misheard lyrics, socks, t shirts, bags, etc. I love meandering through the store and seeing all of the other things for sale here! It definitely leans more towards being a souvenir and gift store BUT they also have some educational things too. I found several posters that I want to purchase for homeschooling. A fun and interesting little gift shop in downtown Raleigh, I finally had an excuse to go check out this store for some Xmas gifts. From the outside you've got a cool neon sign in (of course) art deco style while the inside opens up to a space crammed with knic-knacks, postcards, prints, candles and more. Definitely a great browsing experience with stuff displayed at all different levels, make sure you look up and down as you roam through Deco. With a mish-mash of hard to find gift items and fashion items, Deco leans pretty heavily towards a female clientele but I had fun poking through and ended up getting flask and candle made out of a recycled bourbon bottle. Deco also works on providing a great selection of local goods to support the local creative community, nice! Service at the counter was very good and apparently they will wrap your gifts for you if interested. All-in-all I enjoyed my visit to this eclectic little shop and love the fact it's in downtown Raleigh. While I love my restaurants and bars, more independent retail and shopping is definitely welcome ITB and in the downtown core! read more

Deco was one of my favorite stores with unique and good quality gift offerings, located in downtown Raleigh. The old store, that is. When they opened the new one, I thought, "Great, more good stuff!" But its not necessarily so. Yes, they have more stuff, some pretty darn awesome. But, after going back three times, my thought was, "If I ever see the word F*** ONE more time, it'll be too soon". The dignity of the feminist is diminished greatly, when splattered with every cheap vulgarity known. On the one hand they're feminists, they make that clear. Great. On the other hand, they're just dirty-mouthed reactionaries, rather than bright revolutionaries. If you're a college aged rebel who wants to read f*** about 50+ times while perusing the expensive goods you don't want to buy, this is the place for you. read more

...Finally made it to this charming little boutique we keep passing by in the car on the way out of downtown. It's so chock full of darlings and details that one must stand in place examining each square inch just to take them all in. Bought a fun "919, y'all" button for kicks and giggles, and got the 5yo a small writing pen - except that I liked it so well, I had to keep it for myself and get her a matching one. This has been on my visit list for almost a year now. So I waited until I had fun people to shop for to check it out. It's perched on a corner downtown and easy to see. Parking wasn't a huge issue as I found a spot right in front. So, excitedly, I went in with door buzzer sounding off. There was an employee at the counter who looked over but said nothing. I walked closer to say hello/be greeted but again, nothing. I checked out all the trinkets by the door (cute stuff) and when the two separate customers who walked in after me were greeted, I knew at that moment I probably wouldn't make a purchase. There is a wide variety of quirky and funny gift ideas. I really enjoyed seeing and reading the random adult geared cards, socks and other items. However, there were some items I'd seen at other stores with a higher price tag - maybe due to the downtown location. I walked around the entire store and was greeted in the rear, by who I assume was the owner. She was really nice but for me, too late. I REALLY appreciate awesome customer service but this experience fell a little short for me. read more

Whenever I'm in downtown Raleigh and walking past Deco, I ALWAYS stop in. It is totally my type of store, crafty, cutey, gifty, hippy, and I want to spend ALL MY MONEY. They have some fantastic artwork, Tin Roof Teas, children's toys and classed up story books, jewelry, fake hipster glasses, the list goes on! I love their array of greeting cards and both local and non-local products. And come on, they have a little green area built onto the street right next to their shop. This is the perfect stop if you need to find a cleaver or thoughtful gift. Too bad they don't sell booze, wine or beer, although they've got some sweet accessories. And come on, everyone can bring a bottle of wine as a hostess gift, why not pick up something that sets you apart! There's just something about Deco that draws me in. My A+ man doesn't always feel the same way, so this might be more of a feminine shop but even a techie can find entertainment at Deco. What an amazing place to buy the coolest things! I went here to pick up unique gifts for my family for Christmas and I loved how I could purchase items all in one store that normally would take me 4 stores to find! They have amazing candles, lotions, kitchenware, and funny office supplies. You should also definitely come here if you want to buy anything North Carolina related. I am normally not the kind to shop in this kind of art and craft store; It took a strange yet coincidental turn of circumstance that I discover the joy of craft shopping. Who knows, maybe I'll even stick with it. We had an unscheduled change of destination with our cash mob this afternoon, and the shopkeeper was both startled and appreciated when we announced the cash mob arrival. There are many neat crafts, and many more by local craftsmen and artists and designers. Inside the stores you can find artistic coasters and iPad covers and metalwork wine racks; you can also find poster with Raleigh downtown architecture and handbags made out of beer six-pack boxes. I walked away purchasing a rather cool beer glass, something I would probably buy elsewhere in a department store, but I gave it to a good cause and support local community. I had so much fun browsing around and laughing my a-- off at some hilarious dishtowels, napkins, and greeting cards. I found tons of fun gifts for my family members for Christmas. Some fave finds were ninja gingerbread cookie cutters, beer bottle candles, "you're kind of a dick" gum, local Raleigh t-shirts for men, women & babies. They also carry handmade jewelry, and Holly Aiken hand bags. There is no way that you can walk out of this place without buying something. Deco is my go-to shop when I need small, unique gifts for friends or family. Personally, I skip over the more expensive items, and I am usually in the $5-20 range. Many of those products are not by local artists, but they are exactly what I am looking for. Since I do a lot of online shopping, I was surprised to see many items I had never come across before. You may run into the occasional book or item that you could buy online for much cheaper, but I enjoy the convenience of Deco--they even will wrap your gifts for you! Plus, they usually have free popcorn available right when you enter. I will be coming back to Deco every month or two. Our visit was a complete surprise as we participated in a Yelp Cash Mob - how fun! The store literally does have something for everyone. I found something my 3YO daughter loved, and last minute gifts for my 30'something'ish sister and my impossible-to-shop-for mother! This place is not the average 'craft' or 'gift' store. It has a very wide array of products at different price ranges, without sacrificing quality. Every bit of the store had something I was interested in, from tech accessories to toys to home decor. I enjoyed seeing some local products on the shelf. I ended up buying a Aiken hand bag for my mom. If I can support local designers and retailers, that's a big win-win for me. The owner-proprietor was happy to see us, and happily gift wrapped all of our purchases. She also told me a bit about the products I was buying which is always a nice touch. If you're looking for something different for a friend, Deco should be your first stop. I found a really lovely silver plated peacock jewelry stand here while I was on vacation - and the price wasn't bad at all. The ladies at the shop found a box for me because it needed to go in a suit case, and even included some tissue paper for padding - very nice. I also bought a very pretty card case, and a neat card. In addition to that, I received 5% off every item I purchased because they were having their Birthday celebration - and the money went to a local charity. It doesn't get any better than that! There's so many small, breakable items, I was totally afraid of knocking something over with my behind. And the service was just adequate. Great little boutique in downtown Raleigh. I went for the first time with Yelpers to participate in a cash mob! Deco really has something for everyone, of all ages. There are toys and gadgets for kids as well as adults. This is a great place to go for unique gifting and hard to shop for family members. There are awesome t-shirts, jewelry, purses that are made out of six pack beer boxes (awesome), coasters, glasses, games and much more.
