I stopped into Shop and Save for a quick trip to grab eggs for breakfast and ended up finding their fresh baked donuts. I decided to grab a dozen, and I'm so glad I did! They were incredibly soft, fresh, and tasted great. The store was clean, parking was easy, and the buggies were conveniently accessible right when you walk in. This place was surprisingly stocked with everything we needed and more. Kids loved the fun donuts. Friendly staff and gave great suggestions for hiking trails. For me, this place was a lifesaver. That's an over exaggeration. But this place did come in handle. It seems clean and well stocked because it also doesn't appear to have a huge amount of traffic when I was here. Seems easy to maintain. The prices do seem a bit higher than other places near here, but it wasn't too bad. The shopping center has a huge parking lot so I know you won't have a problem finding a spot here. The location is quite peaceful and the people here were nice. What I like about this place was their hours. I didn't expect them to be open early on a Sunday, but it came in handle when our Airbnb did not have basic necessities and I had to come here in a bind. Glad it worked out. read more

Excellent store! Nice and clean and filled with helpful employees. They have a little section off to the right as you walk in that is filled with healthy options and a wide variety of gluten-free and vegan items plus their produce section is very nice. I loved the lady who was our cashier. She was very kind and friendly. I've shopped here many times over the years while visiting the lake in the summer or Wisp ski resort in the winter. It is very close to the Wisp Resort, they have a good selection of items for you might need while on vacation. And plenty of stuff on sale too. Some items were a bit pricey. But if you dont want to travel to far for a Walmart here is the place to be. We got a few items here during our 3 day vacation. There was one cashier who keeps eyeing us. I dunno about that. Visited twice while visiting Deep Creek recently. The staff is extremly helpful and friendly. The prices are a bit higher than what you may be accustomed to but it is also in a vacation destination so its expected. The highlight for this grocery store has got to be the bakery. I kid you not, they may have the best donuts I have ever tried. The donuts were perfection as were all their other baked goods. We also tried some prepackaged cinnamon rolls and those were also amazing. I'd say if you need a quick breakfast, stop in here and head to their bakery. You won't be disapointed. read more

The prices are reasonable, the location is convenient, and the store is small but has all the essentials you'd need for a few days away at Deep Creek Lake. This is a nice grocery store where you can grab some basics for a stay in Deep Creek Lake on the McHenry side. It is a moderately sized, so selection is a bit limited, but it worked well for our purposes in picking up items like bread, milk, and the like. The staff was friendly and efficient. This is the place to come if you are visiting from out of town and want to get ripped off. We came to buy supplies for a family trip and were shocked at the blatant price gouging. Very poor selection as well. I would have only given 1 star except for the friendly young man who checked us out. Save your money and go to Walmart in nearby Oakland. This is a convenient and very well- run grocery store. I am at Deep Creek Lake often and this store is consistently great- I think I even take it for granted. I'm impressed how there is rarely a long wait and rarely are they out of stock of something I need. There are a few areas that people who don't go as often might easily miss, and that is the gourmet area to the right of the entrance. Also, there are many items displayed hanging over the top shelves that might be missed. Great managers and employees. read more

Owners arbitrarily decided to raise the "senior" age for their Tuesday 15% off from 55 to 62, claiming it was because the cashiers weren't checking IDs. I doubt that because after years of shopping there, their cashiers were always professional, the owner just wanted to screw seniors. Drove 40 mins to get to this store to buy some fire starters for our bonfire. We drove as fast as we could to get there before 10pm. This is a your standard supermarket for the basics. They are smaller than the Shop n Saves back home, and the store is a bit dated. They are a also limited on seafood, their produce is lacking, and their health/beauty section is slim, but if you're looking for dairy, beverages, lunchmeats, cereal, snacks, etc. this store does the job! They have a weekly ad with a bunch of specials all around the store, so syncing that up with your weekly meal planning would save some money to use for other Deep Creek activities! :) read more

When in need of chicken for a large group, I've used the Deep Creek Shop 'n Save a few times now. I have to admit that it has been among the best fried chicken I've ever enjoyed. It has consistently brought the question: "Where is this chicken from?, It's great". All pieces are tender and juicy and the skin has the perfect finish. The sides were also very good. We had Cole slaw and potato salad that were well liked by the group. I would highly recommend the prepared foods from this store. read more

Had everything we needed for a long weekend vacation getaway. Large spread of cheeses, deli meats and foods. Impressed they had some chili garlic sauce that my home supermarket doesn't typically carry. The cereal and ice cream selection could have been bigger, there were plenty of options for coffee creamer. You can tell it's a vacation spot as they've got table tennis balls in the checkout line.
