I can't bring him in and she came out and got him! She gave him a thorough exam and then asked to do bloodwork! Whatever Dr Price suggests I always listen' Bloodwork came back ok! He got his shot and then she spent more time with us trying to get Abbott to take a pill pocket! You see the caring in her eyes! Then to top it off she took him to the car and walked him before she put him in! She got a big hug from me! I know Abbotts time is getting shorter but know he is in the best hand! Shout out to the techs also who know Abbott! He is also deaf so we have alot to be thankful for after the visit! I brought him into this hospital for emergency care and was then scolded by a vet for the condition of his eye. In his experience there were drops my dog should have been receiving for his vision loss and he very callously told me the accident was my fault due to the lack of these drops. I began to cry. He (incorrectly) assumed I had been neglecting my dog's vision because vet care and the drops may have been "out of my price range." Through tears, I explained to this man that I had been going to my primary care vet bi-monthly for this, and detailed the meds they had been recommending for his deteriorating vision. While I was explaining this I received eye rolls, scoffing and the vet interrupted me to tell me he didn't care what my other vet had said- this was what should be done. It was already a very stressful day made worse by this man (white, tall, middle aged) intimidating me (a young, petite woman). Even the vet tech in the room looked uncomfortable with his demeanor. He may have been correct about the drops- I love my dog so I was open to a second opinion, but his approach was aggressive, demeaning and very unprofessional. I truly hope he no longer practices here.

I attempted to tell my story to the assistant manager, Jeanine who wasn't interested in the feedback I was asked to provide. She was dismissive and began talking over me which frustrated me. Then she got rude and over reacted to my frustration and told me I am under review and should look for another vet. I was shocked by the cold, unprofessional way I was treated.. Doctor McLean is the very best in my opinion. He is extremely knowledgeable, practical, and compassionate in the treatment of the animals, and us! We have referred many of our friends to Dr. McLean and those that tried them out are still taking their pets to this clinic. Also, they are reasonably priced in comparison to other vet clinics in CT. Prior to taking our pets to this Clinic, I lived in Simsbury, where you'd think there would be excellent vet care. We used two different clinics we used in Simsbury. The veterinarians were aloof and failed to diagnose a perilous issue with my cat. Very pricey too, especially in light of the misdiagnosis. When we moved to East Haddam we met Dr. McLean told him about the issue with my cat. He was able to educate me as to the problem. Anytime you have an expert willing to take the time to educate, and give all the options, it shows how knowledgeable and credible they are in the subject matter. I highly recommend!

I have been to this clinic 6 times in the past few years and I have never seen the same doctor twice. They have a continuous staff turnover and that is a red flag to me.
