I've been a client of Dr. Clark for over 5 years for my cat, and recently added a golden doodle puppy to our family. The office is clean, the staff is friendly and professional, and Dr. Clark is very patient with my questions (and my inquisitive children's ). There is plenty of parking, and a large grassy area for potty breaks. When you arrive you call the front office and let them know - and they will call you back when it's time for you to come inside - this is great because you can wait in the comfort of your car and also reduce interactions with other animals. I have come here several times to have my older dog diagnosed after several problems. I have had nothing but SOLIDLY GOOD experiences here. The staff are very competent, professional, friendly, courteous, accommodating & efficient. I have experienced nothing but really good service here & I have been to a litany of vets around the US & abroad bc of work assignments. Dr Clark is a graduate of Tufts Veterinary School in Boston which is one of the BEST Vet schools in the US. I am very happy with this Veterinary clinic & will continue to bring both my Bassets here. We have two pups and needed to decide on a vet. Fortunately we decided to go to Dr. Clark. She has a tremendous bedside manner. She always spends a few minutes greeting the puppies before the visit begins. I can tell that she enjoys this part of her job :) We've only just begun seeing Dr. Clark since our pets are still young, but I am confident that they will receive the best care at Clark Veterinary Hospital. They are all pleasant over there as any business should be. I like the fact that they don't "push" services on you. The reason I gave it four stars is that I got a kitten with chronic diarrhea. The Vet couldn't figure out how to get rid of it so she sent me to a specialist, Piper Vet Hospital in Middletown. $1000 later I had to figure out on my own that it was her food she was intolerant of. They never even bothered to look into her food! My daughter said her cat had the same problem and her vet gave her a rabbit meat diet by Royal Canin. I told Dr. Clark this and she prescribed it to me. No more diarrhea. How hard can it be for a vet to figure out diarrhea in a cat? She had to send me to a specialist? That I was not impressed with. read more

My dogs have seen dr clark for years. I called Clarke vetinary hospital on 12/31/2020 early in morning in emotional tears. My 12.5 year old mastiff mix had stopped eating for several days and wS actively dying. I was told that Dr Clark would call me back with details/ process to help her be at peace. I NEVER re eived a call back. My poor loved dogs died in my home o. 1/1/2021 with traumatic seizure activity, which was traumatizing to my dog as well as my family. This should have been peaceful for her. I had to contact piper Olsen who never cared for my dog to assist us. This was a very disheartening experience. I will no longer take my loved animals to someone who does not care about a peaceful journey at the end of life. Heartless read more

We bring our 4 year old Great Dane/Boxer mix here. He doesn't do well with other dogs so the staff bring him in through the back, a huge weight lifted off my shoulders the first time we went here knowing that he was in a safe environment. He was happy and relaxed because they were happy and relaxed! They're very understanding of his anxieties. Services are thorough and easy to arrange. There's nobody demanding hundreds of dollars for things that are unnecessary. Top-notch care, without breaking the bank. A refreshing scene when it comes to veterinary services. My experience with Clark may have been a "perfect storm" of flukes, but based on my experience, I can't recommend this place. 2 1/2 years ago, my husband took our cat to Clark to get his claws removed. The same day, the vet called and said they couldn't do it, because our cat had a cold, but bring him back next week and they could use the same blood work. I took him back the next week and when I went to pick him up after the procedure, they had charged us for the blood work. I went back and forth with them reminding them that they told my husband they would use the same blood work. Eventually, the vet came out to talk to me and was very rude. She asked me "Why would I use the same blood work if he was sick before?" I told her I'm not sure, but since my husband was told she would use the same blood work, I didn't want to pay for it. She finally gave me a 10% discount, while muttering to herself something about people not appreciating the good work she does. On top of that, they told us that he was LOADED with fleas. Hm... I wonder where he got the fleas from if he didn't have them the week before when we initially brought him in, and now he has them (he's an indoor cat). Clearly, he got the fleas from their vet. Not only did we have to pay for flea medication, but our poor cat got TAPE WORM from the fleas too. So we had to pay for tape worm medication too. Now, 2 1/2 years later, his paw has started bleeding. The good vet that we go to now said that it was most likely from getting declawed. He eventually had to get stitches, because it wouldn't heal on its own. Now, in Clark's defense, I'm not sure if it was a bad procedure or the procedure itself that made him eventually have problems. None the less, though, we have probably spent about $750 between the flea medication, tape worm medication, and getting his paw fixed now, all of which were a result of bringing him to Clark. I hope this is the end of the problems we have had with that place. Again, maybe the vet was just having an "off" day; other people might have had great experiences here, but based on my experience, I can't recommend them. read more

Wonderful place! My dog isn't the easiest to handle sometimes, she can be a little crazy, and I can tell you they have always been so amazing with her. Clark Veterinary Hospital has taken care of my cats and dogs for 4 decades now, and they've received the best possible care, without exception. My dogs have never objected to 'going to the vets' as Dr. Kathy Clark is gentle with them, giving them treats and reassuring them during 'vaccinations' and handles her 'clients' with compassion and expert care. The Office Manager is attentive about the human client's experience in the office, and the receptionists and vet techs are very attentive, well informed and friendly. So it's not just medicine, but a caring, professional environment that is stress-free for both the person and the pet. My highest recommendation! read more

Recently, I brought my cat in for a skin irration. I had used bag balm on him to help relieve his discomfort. The vet that saw him asked what it was. He didn't know what bag balm was. Really! A vet that doesn't know what Bag Balm is!? Then he gave me a spray to fix the problem. No shot because of a heart murmur. First, most cats do not tolerate the hiss noise of a spray. Next, the spray had alcohol in it so it stings. Yeah, right, that is what the poor cat wants. Third, when the lable that the vet had applied to the bottle of that spray is pealed back, it says "FOR DOGS ONLY"!!! Several checks on line also say it is for dogs only and recommended hydrocortizone. I called Clark back to #1 get an explanation, and #2 to see if hydrocortizone would be ok. Well, of coarse she was in an operation and couldn't come to the phone. A week later she still has not returned my call! In the past, I have been charged with what I feel as many very unnessasary tests. I feel I was overcharged again for this service. I will not reccomend Clarks Vet to anyone. I think they are one of those that are just in it for the money. Ps. I bought the hydrocortizone CREAM at a pet store. My cat is almost totally healed now, and is not afraid of the medication. Pss I will never return there again and will recommend against going to clarks in the future. Thanks for caring. read more

I honestly love this place. When I got my puppy I brought her here for her 1st checkup. My puppy had a cold with congestion in her chest. The staff was so awsome n welcoming n treated my baby with the upmost attention and care. They immediately put her on antibiotics n she was better in 24 hrs. The staff is so professional n loving. My puppy doesnt hesitate to come here like most dogs. She knows where shes loved. Its been a homerun ever since. read more
