She pointed to the sign and said massage or body massage. I said foot massage. She said $60 for 30 minutes which I felt was a little expensive. I was already feeling a little uneasy in the environment because being a older woman I've had my share of foot and body massage massages. This environment was not a typical massage place. I should've turned around because there was something wrong with the setting of this establishment. She proceeded to tell me I needed to pay $60 before the service was even completed. I responded with I have never paid before I receive the service before and she just proceeded to smirk at me. I(I agree I should've left), but I just felt like I made I didn't wanna break the appointment because with the up and up establishment that would've been very rude to me, but even though I felt very uneasy starting with the doorbell on the front of the building to get in. I gave her $60 in cash. She proceeded to count it, put it in her pocket and told me to go to the room which I have never laid on a bed for a foot massage. Any other foot massage I have ever had was over a foot bowl with warm water and oils to soften your feet. I just keep telling myself this place is not for a foot massage. I should've left!!! I Should've left!!! I walked into the room. There was no pillowcase on the pillow. She threw a hand towel over the top of a pillow. I could not relax. All I could hear was the clock that would tik tok to every squeeze and pull to my feet. There was no essentials aroma smells or soothing music nothing but dead silence with a clock that was ticking. She might of used one or two pumps for the whole foot massage of 30 minutes. She put a blanket on me which I have never experienced for a foot massage. She proceeded to massage my feet by pulling on my toes and pinching my feet and pounding on my calves. I heard the doorbell and then a gentleman walked in and the lady said do you have a appointment? The moment you walk into the room for your massage it was right away a very calming setting. The music, the lighting to the scented room was very chill. Amber informed me about the warming massage table which came in handy on cold days especially recently. I did request if it can be cooled a little because I was starting to get warm before the massage started lol. The headrest was super comfy compared to other ones I've came across and Amber put this scented oil on the cover and had you breath in and wish I asked what that scent was because it was sheer heaven! The body oil used smelled just as fabulous as the oil on the headrest. She did her magic from top to bottom. Because of the work she did on the shoulder area, she placed a hot towel across my shoulders & back and was great and soothing. After I turned to lay on my back, she placed this cloth with the same oil that was used for the head rest across my eyes and a hot towel under my neck that felt really good. Amber let you rest for about 5 minutes before getting dressed and offered a little goodie to take in the look like a hot beverage or a bottle water. I was SO relaxed that when I went on my phone to give her a tip for the great work she did, I couldn't find the app so she offered me to scan in a QR code lol. She made me extremely uncomfortable with the words and tone she chose to use during my massage. She said things (verbatim) like "Relax. Im not going to bite you" when she felt I apparently wasnt relaxing my shoulders enough. This was said twice for both shoulders. She seemed annoyed whenever I asked to change the amount of pressure she was using. She did not focus at all on my lower back, where I stated I had the most pain. The massage she did on my upper back was very interrupted and fair at best. The final straw for me was when she was getting agitated and annoyed at me that I wasnt moving my leg down slow enough in this apparent hip release thing she was trying to do. After the third time of me trying to do this she became louder with her tone and clearly irritated at me as she yelled "GO SLOWER" with my leg (no joke) and I had literal tears in my eyes from the way she was talking to me. I stopped the massage then and there at 60 min (was supposed to be 90). I didnt want her touching me anymore. Who wants to stop a massage? Clearly someone who is uncomfortable with the way they are being, touched, treated and talked too. There were red flags from the beginning that I wish I would have walked out even sooner. Helen was dumbfounded I wanted to leave and instead of asking how to make me more comfortable or even offering an apology-she gaslighted me to make me feel like I was the problem and she was doing nothing wrong.
