PLEASE read the reviews before choosing your venue. I wish I would have seen all of the horror stories about Deep Woods prior to booking. The owners Charlie Jr and Charlie Sr are the most unpleasant people I have ever encountered. They're RUDE. They are GREEDY. They are LIARS. They more than DOUBLED the price of our food one week before the wedding because they knew we would have no choice but to pay it. They will yell at your vendors, they will yell at your guests, and PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF SANITY GOOGLE SEARCH CHARLIE NIEMEYER EUGENE OREGON. This venue is not child friendly. It is not family friendly. These two will RUIN your wedding planning experience. *The owners will yell at your guests for EVERYTHING and hit on your bridesmaids. They will bombard the bride and groom with questions and problems and complaints the ENTIRE time you are at the venue. They also signed the ENTIRE first page of our guest book with a huge 'Charlie and Charlie' across the whole page, and we don't even personally know these people. They were TERRIBLE to us and our entire wedding party and now we have a hideous reminder of that all over the front page of our wedding book. That was very disrespectful. * The bridal suite is tiny. If you have more than 3 people getting ready- you will NOT have room. *I would also like to add that the indoor part of the venue is a disaster. The echo is SO bad you cannot even have a conversation with the person next to you. The music and the DJ cannot be understood either. We hired an amazing DJ who did everything he could to fix it but was still unsuccessful and you will be too. There's no AC inside. Our wedding was in May but it was 76 degrees and miserably hot inside because there is NO air flow. I am attaching a photo of the price list we were given for catering when we booked the venue, and the price breakdown they gave us one week prior to the wedding. Yes, all prices are 'subject to change'... but the prices they charged us DOUBLED from the quote we were originally given. DO NOT TRUST THEM! They only care about your money and they will rob you! We also informed them in writing that our guest count would be roughly 95. They charged us for 130! And when we confronted them about with they said 'oh we will make it right, we will make better food for you to make up the difference'. For thousands of dollars?! That's not okay. Please please please do not book this venue. And if you have already booked- JUST FORFEIT THE DEPOSIT AND SAVE YOURSELF. They will not treat you any better- they will ruin your day just like they have for everyone else who is writing a review. You're welcome. read more

While the venue is beautiful there was a lot the owner vs the son expressed. Owner stated if it rains it would have to be inside and to set up tables for reception he'd clear out all our guests for set up which isn't convenient when it's not near anything and in the woods. We had to cancel our wedding due to unforseen physical challenges and we chose to elope... owner after a month has not provided full refund and just states I may get it to you in weeks or a month.... Why? Because the owner exclaimed he spent the entirety of our funds for his personal debts and used our funds for our upcoming wedding which included a 7800 food quote and venue over 4000.... was in a few years and all the owner could express is I'm never booking weddings this far out... again we signed a contract and he agreed to full refund per the contract and refuses to fill out a repayment agreement and has not yet repaid our funds owed. While I would have enjoyed to work with this company the stress it has caused to get our costs returned has been a nightmare and a true show of unprofessionalism. read more

Brides beware! I would not recommend this venue to anyone and highly encourage you to find another venue if you are even considering it. Although the place is pretty, the owner is the worst person on the planet and has the worst customer service.. he isn't afraid to yell at anyone including the bride and groom on their wedding day. I actually witnessed him yell and cuss at the groom when it should be the happiest day of someone's life with no drama. It's so bad I heard the staff say they were worried about getting yelled at and also watched the son have to correct his dad's behavior and tell his father (the owner) that we were customers and he needed to be nicer and not yell at people during a separate time at the rehearsal. If you choose to go against this advice and end up booking this space, be careful because the inside event space is setup horribly for audio. No one can hear speeches or anyone trying to talk, even with audio equipment setup. They also make you use their decorator who gets overwhelmed easily and asks the bridal party for help (even though you are paying for the service). Lastly, be cautious because you will get conflicting information from the owners son, the decorator and the owner, and in turn yelled at. I cannot stress this enough, do not book this venue or recommend this place to anyone. read more

We did have some unexpected changes regarding bar service and catering prior to the event but the venue always communicated those changes to us. The staff was attentive and the venue is beautiful and well laid out. We had a wedding and there is a bridal suite and grooms room which is great. The food was good, the bartender was awesome and Amanda kept everything running smoothly. I would give five stars except for the initial changes. I do think they are getting those things ironed out and be worthy of five stars in the near future! read more

What a beautiful venue! Our niece was married here this last weekend and we can't say enough great things about the staff and venue at Deep Woods- Charlie and his family are so accommodating and went out of their way to make the weekend just wonderful. Even in the extreme heat, they baked the pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven, and catered to our every need! From the decor to the food, music, and service, we loved the weekend! HOT indoors. 80+ degrees. Terrible for a summer event. Everyone was wet with sweat when I hugged them, and so was I. It was uncomfortable to even just sit there. We tried to dance but it wasn't fun for long and we all left HOURS early to escape the heat when we had been hoping to socialize and really enjoy our time together as friends and family. We were told the place could be adequately cooled via the floors? And given paper hand fans. We sat around furiously fanning ourselves and each other to the point of annoyance. The ceilings are high and the ceilings fans were on the lowest setting, just enough to push the heat back down. I'll throw in 2 stars for the pretty outdoor setting but the pergola is getting rusty and needs paint and frankly a plain woodsy vibe could have been achieved in someone's backyard instead. This venue is so beautiful but working with the owner is a nightmare! He is so rude and does not care at all about the individual's wedding only the money. I booked my wedding in March of 2021 after a tour where I was accompanied by two other people. I was also taking notes the entire time and nowhere did Charlie mention that you were required to use Billy Mac's. Then months later I found out when our bartender contacted Charlie with some question that Billy Macs was required only 2.5 months before my wedding. Nowhere on the Deep Woods website did it say Billy Mac's was required and it was not stated anywhere in my contract. When I brought this up to charlie he said "Well I'llget you your deposit back then there is 72 people behind you". I was not even planning on canceling until Charlie presented his horrible customer service and I knew I would rather elope than deal with him. Then the next day Charlie called back and argued with me for about 20 more minutes that he had in fact told me. He even went so far as to say "I dont mean to call you a liar" then continued to say that he definitely told me and I was lying. Also Charlie made sure to read me the part of the contract where he gets to keep the $200 non refundable portion. It's also been over 2 weeks and I STILL have not received any portion of my deposit from him. There are so many better wedding venues you can find where you won't have to deal with difficult owners so I highly recommend you look elsewhere!!!!! read more

Not to mention she is keeping 2 of the 500! This lady completely misused our funds and no telling how many other people's! I'm very easygoing but she doesn't even care! YOU HAVE BEEN FOREWARNED! Never mentioned a required catering/bartending company in tour, website, or contract had to move my daughters wedding 75 DAYS before her wedding due to poor communication and wouldn't give us back full deposit despite contract not saying anywhere this was required! Still waiting on our partial deposit refund, rude to my daughter despite HIS mistake leaving out important details! Would not recommend this venue! My husband and I were married at Deep Woods August 31 2013. Karol is amazing! Everything was taken care of for me, she helped organize the ceremony and reception to my liking. She decorated exactly as I asked, changed things without question if I requested, and above all was present at my wedding. She has a giant room of decorations to choose from, if you desire, and a head full of ideas! The support I received from her in my wedding day was tremendous (I planned my wedding alone so I needed a lot of help. Karol uwill give you as much or as little help as you need.) The venue is absolutely breath taking from the grounds to the venue hall to the individual rooms for bridesmaids and groomsmen. There is a large area outside for kids to play, but some delicate foliage and poison ivy/oak within the wooded area that they will ask you to avoid. The sunset peaking through the giant trees makes for the most amazing photos. I highly recommend this gorgeous and affordable venue for all events...but especially for weddings. read more

I am writing this review as a vendor on behalf of my clients, as I am sure they will write one too. As a vendor in the wedding industry, the only thing this venue has going for it, is the location and how gorgeous it is. It is STUNNING, literally a visual out of a magazine or Pinterest board. That is where it ends. I was extremely appalled at the behavior of the owners and those that worked for the venue. Let me list off the things that happened that were completely unprofessional and inappropriate that interfered with my clients enjoying their wedding day. -The owner came in while the groomsmen were enjoying their afternoon and started yelling at the groom and his father. This ensued for five minutes, which was extremely uncomfortable not only for the groomsmen, but for me as a fellow vendor. -The owner yelled at guests of the wedding telling them what they could and couldn't do, including young children. -The owner came in to the groomsmen room and stripped the room of the beer that the GROOM and GROOMSMEN had purchased, despite the room being locked per the agreement of the venue. -The bartender pulled the groom off the floor from enjoying his evening THREE times yelling at him about things that were supposedly going on that had been reported back to the owners. -The DJ was asked to turn the music down on multiple occasions. I went outside to determine if the music was an issue, and it was barely even audible outside. There may have been more that occurred, but these are the items I was involved with during my time there. It is extremely unfortunate that this is how the owners chose to behave because as a vendor I am always looking for places to refer clients. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and well maintained, but with the behavior of the owners, I would NEVER put future clients through that to have their biggest day of their lives interrupted for very petty items. As owners of the venue, they chose to live on site NEXT to the venue, so if noise is an issue or having people around the property, this is the wrong industry for you. Also, as a venue owner, the property is going to be used within reason and that is why you require clients to get liability insurance, which was fulfilled by my clients. As future clients research and review venues, I would advice doing major research before booking here and talk to other clients. read more

I do not recommend, unless you cover all your bases. When we first booked, they just said no one was allowed to use the kitchen. They mentioned a caterer Big Macs, but when I went to contact they said they were out of business. Well two months before my wedding they ask if I got ahold of catering and I told them I went with someone else. I was informed that they do not let outside caterers at all. I was was told that I wasn't being diligent, and refused to to give me my deposit back. When talking to my caterer they said they had done several weddings here, but other brides were having the same issues and ended up with other venues. Even before this issue he was hard to get in contact with and rarely responded to messages. read more

This venue was beautiful. And that is where the pleasant things about this place end.  The owners were ever-present in an overbaring and annoyed way. They were constantly standing around waiting to yell at small children for running around on the grounds. Telling people constantly what was and wasn't allowed on the property, not before, but during the event!  We had made a delivery before the wedding and had parked near the vendor access doors. After the event we were confused on how to get out to our vehicle. One of the staff kindly helped us get out a side door since the oversized vender doors didn't open easily. Once out we realized our child had left a toy behind and went back to retrieve it. The female owner, came at us telling us off for using the exit. I explained that because the doors were so heavy the staff member had helped us out and we just needed to sneak in for a moment. She backed off untill we were out of sight. The woman pulled the kind employee out and as we left we ALL heard this woman screaminng at her and it went on and on. If this wasn't bad enough. My daughter knew the girl was being yelled at because she left her toy behind and cried all the way home out of guilt. Shame on how you treat your guests, and how you demean and mistreat your staff. You don't belong in this business -This place is not family friendly. -Not child friendly. read more

My sister had a beautiful wedding at the venue years ago and little has seemed to change in terms of customer service. As a result of her positive experience, I reached out to Charlie and Deepwoods in the summer of 2020. Charlie was very friendly and went the extra mile to allow me to propose to my fiancé at the venue. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 and our own personal situation, we were unable to keep our date with Deepwoods. I deeply appreciate the time they took with us and friendly service they provided. I highly recommend reaching out to them for weddings larger than 80 people. read more

I was in my friend's wedding which took place at Deep Woods. The owners acted annoyed that we were there. She kept trying to step in as a coordinator and making suggestions after the bride had voiced what she wanted, such as how we were going to walk down the aisle. The staff put down flower petals on the floor right before the ceremony which made one of the girls slip but thankfully she caught herself. I was so nervous walking down because it was so slippery! They tried to be involved in everything and during the ceremony made their presense very known. It's sad because it is a beautiful spot, but we couldn't figure out why they are in the wedding business when they seem to dislike it so much. I would not reccomend this place to anyone. I would give it one star, but am choosing 2 stars since the venue itself is a pretty place. read more

The actual venue is breathtaking and my husband and I had a beautiful wedding. Unfortunately, there was a lot of unprofessionalism seen by the owner of the venue throughout the wedding planning process (no shows, untimely responses, rude/condescending attitude and forgetfulness). I am not sure if this was due to high stress on their end or ageism because my husband and I are younger. Either way, it is not something a couple should have to deal with during their wedding when soooo much money is saved up and spent. DON't RUIN your Wedding day with this couple. Venue is very beautiful. After first meeting, Karol was less than helpful. I had to call her for info and she was short with me and not too friendly. She didn't tell us information that we should have known up front. Her profanity/language was unbelievable! Because of the lack of information and her wanting to change things all the way up to the wedding day, we were not happy. She proceeded to yell profanity, name called and this was with guests around. I heard her husband was yelling at the groom just hours before the wedding. I hope the groom and bride write a review! They did not provide everything they promised. I don't know everything that went on but I heard more than just what I wrote, I heard Karol say that she was just too busy for her to be concentrating so much on one wedding. read more

My cousin just got married here. The place is nice and it was unfortunate she could not have her ceremony outside like she wanted due to weather. What I didn't like was that the owners where very present and seemed to be taking things down even though guests were still there! They walked around rounding up the table numbers while people were still at the tables. I appreciate people picking up dirty plates and so on, but the decorations???? I don't know if this had anything to do with the space or the catering, but all the plates were already at the tables. You had to take your plate to the Buffett and there were no extra plates at the Buffett! If you wanted 2nd's you had to look for a place setting that was empty and take the plate. The owners were very hostile to the kids playing in the grass and landscaped areas and even yelled at them! They just seemed angry, stressed out, and in a hurry to get people out of there and let me tell you it's not like we stayed late! The wedding was at 2pm and we were out of there by 6:30pm! I think if they are going to do weddings they need to be more relaxed and upbeat! It's all about love!!! read more

I do not recommend this place for your wedding, or any event! My son and his wife were married here and paid $2,500.00 for the event. The owners were rude and chastised guests. The kids were yelled at for getting too close to flower beds, or playing in general. At the reception the owner was cleaning around all the guests. We felt like we were being pushed out the door. Beautiful place Rigid regulations enforced by rude owner/staff. We were treated like trespassers by the parking lot guard. Some of our party were ordered off the property for unknowingly breaking the rules.(and warned not to return) The outdoor area was patrolled by unfriendly enforcers who warn you not to step off the path or touch the plantings, The staff in the reception area were intrusive, reaching between guests who were visiting with each other. The presentation of the buffet was a joke. Guests had to carry their plates down a long hallway past the restrooms.They couldn't keep the enough food on the serving table. Often guests had to wait. Clean up began before the cake was served. The only redeeming qualities were, the ceremony itself was very nice.The bride and groom were adorable and their parents were very gracious and apologetic. read more

We were so excited to be coming to this wedding!! We drove 7 hours for this wedding. We were going to see lots of family we hadn't seen for a while. But NO!!!! This man came out of the woods yelling at us to get the dogs out of here. So we got our dogs and took them to the car and he chased us down standing with his arms crossed. We were trying to tell our Mother (grandmother of the groom) that we had to put the dogs away but the man wouldn't even let us park our car in the lot. He cited some code violation. I don't know what he thought we were going to do.......WE are not crazy people. If he had asked we would have told him we were going to take turns with the dog sitting.
