What a delightful place. Quiet, private and so wonderfully relaxing. Tom and Karen could not be better hosts. We were greeted at the car and after dropping off our bags, took a quick tour of the building. Beautifully appointed for guest comfort. We enjoyed our wine and treats on our private porch before heading into Coburn for pizza at Tom's suggestion (awesome pizza! see my other review!). Slept quite comfortably and loved the double shower! Breakfast, cooked to order by Tom, was great- especially the warm cream scones with fresh raspberries and whipped cream. If you're looking for a great get-away, consider McKenzie Orchard B&B. We're sure glad we did!view from our porch

Finely understated accommodations with plenty of space, inside and out. It's true, you feel a world away from everything, but whatever you might need is only 15 minutes away, max. Even though local, I'll return again and again. Love it here!

I stumbled upon McKenzie Orchards on the last day of a long business trip. Normally, I would stay at a Marriott for the Bonvoy points. Boy, am I glad there is no Marriott on the Eugene area! This place made my trip. Tom and Karen are such delightful hosts! They rolled out the VIP service from start to finish. I ate homemade sour dough, I drank local wine, I even had local jams. The coffee is strong, the bedding is cozy, the fireplace (in your own bedroom) was blissful! They have blackout shades and no noise except maybe some songbirds and the river, so I slept like a baby! I think they could tell I was exhausted when I checked in so they offered me a homemade French sandwich consisting of manchego, delicious think sliced ham, and of course Tom's homemade baguette. Karen threw together a little side salad with homemade dressing and I was poured some Chardonnay from a nearby town. To give this place five stars doesn't do it justice. If you're in the area do yourself a solid and check In to their cozy river home. PS I also want to mention this place is meticulously clean. Nothing is out of place and the hygiene is above and beyond my expectations (and believe me, I'm picky).

Lovely B&B on beautiful grounds; serene, quiet and peaceful. Our hosts were quite gracious and served us a delicious breakfast.

Check-in was smooth, and the staff member who greeted us was genuinely pleasant and cool, giving us some extra water and few green bags of goodies (returned the next day), promising to wave the parking fee. That's where the positives ended. After a long drive, we dropped our bags in da rooms and went out for a dinner without inspecting our rooms a bit closely. When we returned later that night and checked the beds with a UV light, we were shocked to find stains on both beds. It was darn disturbing (photos attached)! We went down to the front desk to report it. The night staff told us there was no one available to change the linens and no other rooms available to change at full occupancy. Instead, we were handed a set of sheets and sent back to deal with it ourselves. After 10 PM, exhausted, we had no real choice but to accept it. In the morning, we raised the issue again with the new front desk rep. The replacement sheets were not much better, and despite our complaint, the response was limited to verbal apologies only. We were still charged full price for the night, plus a $20 parking fee for overfilled parking lot that's essentially had open access from the street. This is not the level of cleanliness or service expected from a Hyatt. Do your due diligence and do not assume standards are being met. Check your room carefully before settling in. Breakfast on the other hand was great! Variety of eggs, milks and healthy choices beat other Hyatt locations we stated at the next day in Portland. Loved it, and that what basically got the stars.

The breakfast was good and they had vegetarian sausage and bacon which I have never seen in a complimentary hotel breakfast! Only complaint is that when I didn't want my room cleaned, they put a weird note on my door and came in anyway. The gal at the front desk had bi idea what I was talking about and wasn't aware of the policy to enter even when the guest does not want anyone to enter.

Over the past four years The Guest House has went from possibly a two star to a NEGITIVE 5 Star, pleas see pictures attached. I recently checked in for a room as I was traveling from Central Oregon to Eugene Oregon to visit my mother. I had made my reservations on priceline.com and it cost me 73.00 plus tax. I arrived early and checked in, didn't go up to the room because i was on a mission to help my mother out at her home in the Danabo area. I returned back to the hotel around 7:30 PM.. the First thing in noticed was all of the crack addicts and pot heads, yes smoking weed by the entrance door.. It may be legal, but I don't want to breath it.. When I opened the door I noticed was how filthy the carpeting was.. ok, I will just keep my shoes on right? then I went to turn on the TV. No batteries in the remote. so I walked over to the office, no one in site. After waiting 15 minutes and yes i checked the time when I walked in and the time he, the night guy came into the office. Explained to him the TV remote has no batteries... Was told he didn't have the correct batteries to help me out... No TV Tonight I guess. Returning back to the room I then took a look at the bed, mold in the fibers of the bead spread not on just one, but both of the beds... then the chairs filthy, I don't even want to venture what the stains are from. then looking up, mold in the corner of the room ceiling. the night guy auditor did not seem to care, refused to give me a refund so i could go elsewhere when I asked for one. stated to cancel room I needed to do so within 24 before checking in. told him condition of room, he stated he will inform the manger. stated no rooms available to "Up grade" as if that would help.. So I slept in street clothes, laid towels on the bed first. Did not sit in the chairs and had issues with my asthma all night long. I will end this review here and yet there is so much more to share with all of you. I had yet to touch of the crack heads that apparently live at this establishment. the Pot smokers getting high by the entrance door to the rooms, or the piles of Dog Shit all over the parking lot. Because of COVID, things are different so I wasn't sure if they even served breakfast. He also could not show me the direction of our room when I asked, so we walked around the hotel looking for the room. He acted as if we had been there before and knew our way around. Place needs to be updated. I get the old school hotel feel but the shower/bath tub was old. Best part was, I took the elevator at one point and found something that looked like a cigarette butt on the floor in the elevator. Looked closely and it was part of a joint! Weed! Came out and let the man at the front desk know, and it didn't seem to phase him. I guess it's normal even thought they don't allow smoking at the place.

Parking is easy, access is easy, and if you need something, then they are very willing to help provide it. The breakfast space is in a different building, so you might have to walk in the rain, but guess what? You're in OREGON. It happens that way. If you just want coffee, then they have a coffee and tea station near the front desk at all hours of the day. It goes without saying that rates for ANY hotel in Eugene get crazy when there is football or university happenings. But I stayed in a single king room for three days and dropped just over $300, which is a pretty good deal to me. If I would've stayed further down the street or downtown, then I probably would've paid much more than that. Nice enough place, very nice staff, and great breakfast. It would be nice to have maid service daily, but it isn't critical. I certainly understand staffing can be a challenge, and I will probably be back here again.
