I want to refute a review by Cheryl B. At no time has this woman been a customer or visitor at this…read morestable. The stalls are 12x12 feet not extremely small as she stated. The horses are all well fed and taken care of. Wound care is performed daily on any injuries encountered and managed by a veterinarian. The roof she claims is missing ( post Ian) has been repaired and in place for several years. All these accusations are patently false and posted with malicious intent. We are a hard working group of horse lovers and do our best everyday to make sure the animals are well cared for.

I believe they have reroofed that Barn. Anyway, the stalls were way too tiny. The could not even turn around in them. They had taken like 12 x 12 stalls and split them in half. They didn't have any kind of bedding in the stalls for the horses and the horses were standing on a thick layer of manure throughout the entire stall. The looked depressed and unhealthy. I saw many with open sores. One of them was so bad that this owner of this facility should have been thrown in jail For. I would never recommend this place to anyone. What your children are learning here is really bad management and the lesson program is not very good either. I would definitely look for another location for your children or for your personal .

The RV sites are spacious, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. Unlike many campgrounds where you're practically sharing coffee with your neighbors, Myakka provides plenty of room and natural vegetation between sites. It felt private, peaceful, and uncrowded. If you enjoy the outdoors, you'll never run out of things to do here. There are miles of hiking and biking trails, abundant wildlife, and excellent opportunities for photography and birdwatching. For those looking for a little adventure, the canoe rental outpost offers a chance to paddle the Myakka River and lake system while getting up close and personal with about 10 bazillion alligators. (The OG Floridian!) One attraction you absolutely shouldn't miss is the Trail and Observation Tower. The suspension bridge is a fun experience, and the views from the 72-foot tower are spectacular. Looking out across miles of untouched Florida wilderness really gives you an appreciation for how wild and beautiful this state still is. One word of caution: be mindful of the poison ivy. It's everywhere around campsites, trails, and wooded areas. As a native Floridian who should know better, I managed to find it the hard way and am still paying for that mistake. Learn from my suffering and keep an eye on where you're stepping, leaning, and reaching. Whether you're camping, hiking, biking, paddling, or just looking for a peaceful getaway, Myakka River State Park delivers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already "itching" to return. This time without the poison ivy. Pro Tip: Bring your camera, binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, and a healthy respect for Mother Nature. You'll be glad you did!
