I quickly opted for the Chicken Tamales (assisted by the fact that one of their crew was pointing it out to me as I walked up). It took several minutes while they prepared them. I was a little confused because I thought tamales were usually a pre-made item, and I could clearly see the chef handling some uncooked masa. As he handed them over, I could clearly see this was the real deal. The chicken was taco-seasoned and juicy (practically falling apart), the masa was warm and perfectly formed into that tamale shape. The corn-black bean salsa was a nice touch also. It would be nice to have some beverage options, but we didn't ask. It was close enough to our apartment that we just walked back and chose from our existing stockpile. Overall, I would say whatever you do, don't discount this less-than-pretty food truck. This stuff is for serious.
