1/6/27 I Stopped by Serendipity at the Orange Door for lunch while in town for work. I ordered the Crunchwrap after the staff highly recommended it. My food came out fast within about 10 minutes which was perfect for a workday lunch. I was warned it was a messy dish and took that as a challenge and challenge accepted. It was definitely messy but absolutely worth it. So cheesy, flavorful and filling. Easily one of the best fast food style replica dishes I've had. No shade to Taco Bell but this version is on a whole different level with better tasting ingredients and way more flavor. Taco Bell should be getting their recipe for their Crunchwrap and make changes to their menu to match this one. So so damn good! All that and it's just under $8. Quick affordable and incredibly satisfying. If you're in Somerset this Crunchwrap is a must try, but regardless check out serendipity, you won't be disappointed. read more

If I could rate it a 0 I would. We stopped in to eat before going to a show and no one acknowledged we were there! No one spoke to us. There were a total of three tables. One had been served, one drinks had been brought and the other there order was being taken. We stood there for 5 minutes and left. The worst service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. I doubt we will be back. read more

The food gave me a great feeling, almost like a walk in a small diner in a small town! The service was amazing! Great refill times and employees what don't look like they work there but actually do! So if you see Harley man then give up them plates. 10/10 read more

Cute spot in Somerset! We went for lunch, but their menu can cater to lunch or dinner. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich while I ordered the club sandwich. The club sandwich was huge and I had plenty to enjoy but also take him. We loved their sidewinder and crinkle cut fries. Fun they had both option! Our server was so sweet! She was quick to serve us, so friendly, and made sure everything was just right! We will be back! read more

Dined here with a family of seven. Everyone had different meals and all were delicious and superb. The atmosphere and staff were attentive and courteous. Overall, an amazing experience. The quiche is fantastic. Can't wait to dine here again. read more

Such a great restaurant. I was in town for business and found this place. I went twice. Quiche is delicious, I went back a second time in the few days I was there. Quiche is served with a generous size of fresh fruit and a sweet treat. Will go again. I did notice they have a large room to the side of the restaurant. Have not eaten here, however from the looks of the photos it looks very unappetizing. The seating makes it look really cheap and very much underrated. It does not make me want to eat there at all. They could do a lot better, a lot! read more

While in Somerset for the day we had lunch here. We had fried green tomatoes, grilled chicken sandwich, fried green tomato BLT, fruit cup, & homemade chips. Our food was DELICIOUS!!!!! The place was packed and now I see why! read more

Stick with the menu. Everything is always wonderful! Chicken strips, burgers, and meat loaf are my favorites. But we have been disappointed with the hot bar every time we have tried it. Food is dry and over-cooked (or maybe it has just sat too long). Tried the Sunday breakfast bar- Biscuits hard as a rock (but the gravy was good). Great service! read more

We where saden when the Serpdipty closed in Nancy, we don't get over in to town that munch, but with this new Super Club option that I have, I must say it is worth the drive. My wife who can not longer eat meat, had the Teriyaki Salmon I had the house Ribeye cooked to medium rare. They have a lot of options for sides such as Green Beans, Side Salad, Fried Potatoes, Sweet Carrots, Fried okra, Sidewinders, Rice, and Refried Beans. They have several soup options such as Tomato, Broccoli cheddar, & Potato. Several desert options and their specials each night. You will need to check their Facebook page for daily specials.Food is great but the service is even better. Our server Sydney was wonderful and went above and beyond. OMG , I just ate some of the best meatloaf so juicy and thick. My husband had a KY bourbon burger with fries. I took a bite oh my it was so good and juicy. Onion rings and cheese and BBQ sauce on it. Really enjoyed another great meal at Serendipity! The portions were extremely generous and the food was excellent. I halved my meal and have plenty for lunch tomorrow! Our service was fast and efficient. I had the daily special again. Today was pork tenderloin with soup beans, fried potatoes and corn bread. I added a side of slaw. I have enjoyed their meatloaf special in the past and also like their quiche meal. My husband was happy with the half pound hamburger today. Will definitely return again. read more

Old location was 100% better. Always a great meal! Since moving to the larger location we have gone 3 times. Each visit was worse. Always out of sidewinder fries. First time busy so understandable. second time poor planning. Third time they haven't learned to order more because they run out. But that is not the main reason for this poor review. I ordered the salad bar. Lettuce limp not crisp. cucumbers soft no crispness, potato salad was mush, no potatoes in sight. Croutons stale. Iced tea was sugar water. But.....I did not complain about any of these. The problem was my husband ordered a Rueben sandwich that was good but it came with fries. The fries arrived soggy and dripping in cold oil. Unedible. The manager walked by the tables asking how things were. I showed him the fries in their pool of oil. He said he would deduct them off the bill. Then the waitress brought our bill and 10% was deducted from the entire bill which amounted to $2.40. When I went to pay the bill the cashier stated he was sorry but the owner would not deduct anything for the crappy food. I felt she put him in an embarrassing position after we were told they would remove 10%. I just said whatever and stated I don't think we will return. What was my favorite place to eat out is no longer. I guess bigger is not always better. read more

First time today, won't be the last. Ordered the meatloaf special, what a meal! Huge proportion, no skimping that's for sure, had a soup to boot add another star. The meal was excellent. Great food! Casual setting. They need to expand their burger menu. I attended a wedding they catered and actually was at the restaurant for a tasting of burgers for the wedding. The burgers were a great variety and delicious. We went back to eat and sadly there was only one burger on the menu that we tasted. read more

While in Somerset for 3 days I had a chance to try some of the local restaurants, none of which disappointed. Serendipity at the Orange Door does not exactly flow off the tongue but the food is good, so who cares unless you are a marketing professional. Service was friendly and attentive. I had the grilled chicken sandwich on a brioche bun. Chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly, topped with tasty tomatoes and lettuce. Only had plain packaged mayo and I really think they should consider coming up with a garlic or jalapeño aioli which would take it up a notch. Still, a good sandwich. I asked my server if I could have a sample of their pimento cheese on the side which proved to be a great call adding it to my chicken sandwich. BTW, she did not charge for the sample which was really nice of her. The house sidewinder fries were good but not great because they were a bit mushy and could benefit from cooking a little longer to provide the crunch I like in a good fry. Of course this is purely a personal choice and others will like just as they are. Overall, it was a good experience. Next time I'm in town I would like to try their quiche and maybe one of their soups that looked really good. Downtown Somerset has a hard time keeping locally owned restaurants going. Holsomback's was truly the last great thing downtown, but I digress. This is an awesome little place that needs a little refinement. My lunch date and I had great sandwiches. She had a Panini and I had a chicken salad croissant. Both were tasty and clearly homemade. Service needs a bit of help here. Dessert which is also homemade an sounded awesome was never offered by the server. And while one does not have to be thrilled to be at work, you should at least be a bit congenital. It is a small town where half the people in the place know each other, a little chit chat is going to go a long way. If you are serving food you need to know a bit about the food you are serving. I've eaten her a few times always good and alot of food for the money. Tonight was the Smothered & Covered Chicken, green beans and fried potatoes. I passed on the pie (which is alway good, a rarity around here). I didn't feel like cooking so I ordered to go and it was ready in 15 minutes. Time enough to check out the local art. It's going on my regular rotation of to go places. I think it was $17 bucks and could have easily been split, but I ate the who thing. read more

On a spur of the moment last night I suggested we go to Serendipity, and I am so glad that I did!!! The service was top-notch. Everyone was super friendly and very attentive. The food was delicious. I had the shrimp tortellini, my daughter had the twice baked spaghetti, and my husband had prime rib. The portions are huge and we left with enough food for lunch today. We were so impressed with the meal we made sure to save room for dessert. NY cheesecake was Amazing... after last night this may become my Friday night spot for dinner. Ordered a grilled chicken salad to go. The salad was very underwhelming. The grilled chicken was not fresh by any means, hard chunks that were almost impossible to chew. The tomatoes were whole sliced tomatoes that would top a burger, a sprinkle of cheese, bacon bits and a sliver of egg. Definitely did not live up to the description on the menu or the 10.00 price tag. I will say I have ordered the Friday special of salmon patties and those are always great. Not sure what happened today with the salad but I would not order again nor recommend. read more

I was leery to eat at a small town restaurant in Kentucky but this place floored me. It was perfect. Cool art on the walls, decor was awesome with antiqued doors and kitschy stuff. Our server was excellent. Sarah (I believe is the manager/chef/owner) was confident in her ability to provide gluten free and I was not disappointed at all. I did not get sick and truly enjoyed my experience. Take a stroll to downtown Somerset and keep that area alive. Highly recommend. read more
