Was pretty unimpressed with my experience here. The lawyer, Mr. Degnan, seemed very unprepared for our meeting which was a 300 dollar hour long consult and I felt the whole time he was just trying to rush me out. I could quickly tell he hadn't read the documentation or lease I had sent him based on a couple questions I asked early in the meeting. He barely seemed to know much at all, accurately, of my current situation. His solution to my situation was for him to quickly write up some draft of a letter he said I should send the business I was having an issue with and just kind of left that as the answer "here I wrote up what you should say just send them a letter like this." No talk of what could happen after that, how I should follow up based on how the business replies to that letter, what the consequences of the letter could be, nothing really. Just here real quick send a letter like this to them, that's what you should do - followed by like a facial expression of hope that I would just be satisfied with that and leave. Which, after 30 minutes, I did since he seemed so disinterested in the whole thing. He also had to get up literally 5 or 6 times to print out general laws that apply to the situation I was in since, as I said, he was unprepared. So, 300 dollars for 30 minutes of a lawyer that seemed ready for me to be out the door the second I came in. It was clear he didn't see my case as something he would want to take on, which is completely fine with me. But at least be prepared and give me the time I'm paying for. Put some actual effort into the person who is paying for your time. I would give 1 star, but I'm giving 2 because he was at least open to me emailing him follow-up questions after the meeting which I thought was cool. read more

Unfortunately, our $300 consult was a complete waste of time. The lawyer said he really didn't go through all 34 pages of papers we sent him and it was very confusing to him. He himmed and hawed that we probably had a case but it would be $5000 to even look fully at the case and write a letter of complaint. We didn't feel confident with the very little he said to us that we had even the possibility of winning a case even though we knew it was clear cut breach of contract. This experience has further reduced our trust in the legal system. We just can't gamble with that much money, which would only be the beginning of the financial drainage. I was told I had to pay $300 to see if they wanted my personal injury case. After being assured I would also get advice, I agreed. Mark Horne, a partner there, called 40 minutes late for our appt. He was obviously eating, as he was smacking his lips into the pphone. Then I asked if he even read all the paperwork I sent. No, he did not. Not even basic things. I sent it a few days to a week earlier so he could look it over. Most attys. at least try to make a good first impression. This made me very angry because I'm at a critical point in my lawsuit and I didn't talk to anyone else, thinking I'd work with this firm. Bad time for me to NOW have to look elsewhere. read more

I had a dispute with a lender for excessive fees. I found an advertisement for Degnan Law online. I contacted them and Mr. Degnan said that he could help me recover the fees. This was an interstate claim. He did not ask what state the loan documents were written in. I paid the retainer fee and it was a total waste of money. I was under the impression that Mr. Degnan was going to handle the case himself. To my dismay, he assigned the case to another attorney in the firm. I then found two issues with their representation. First, the in the state of jurisdiction due to the loan documents being written as per the laws, I had no claim. Secondly, the attorney assigned to my case was totally incompetent. I would never recommend this firm to anyone. Any competent attorney would have known that I did not have a case. They took my retainer and provided dismal representation. The opposing counsel had an easy reply to Degnan's complaint which stated the blatant mistake that Degnan had made. It cost me $5,000., the amount of my retainer to learn of Degnan's either incompetence or greed!! read more
