My husband and I recently hired Brad Denton of Denton, Peterson, Dunn to represent us in a lawsuit against Exceptional Woodworking. We met with the owner of Exceptional Woodworking, Randy Mullis and upon first meeting felt comfortable doing business with him. We gave him a deposit, which was required for Randy to draw up ideas for a custom wall unit. After a month of no drawings, we decided to not move forward with the project and asked for our deposit back. Mr Mullis said, "Your deposit is nonrefundable". Mr Mullis hadn't done any work on our project. He didn't purchase any materials for our project and we were never given a contract to sign. Basically, business was done on a handshake. Yet, Mr Mullis felt he was entitled to keep a fairly large deposit we had given him. At this point we hired Brad Denton to take our case. Brad was amazing! He listens, and then gives his professional advice on the case. Communication was excellent. Brad made a stressful situation less stressful. Fortunately we didn't need to go to court because with Brad representing us, we settled out of court, getting our full deposit back from Randy Mullis, owner of Exceptional Woodworking. READ! I used them for a breach of contract case and let me tell you IT WAS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, LACK OF STRATEGY, SUCK OF YOUR TIME that you'll experience. Now, we won. Because I fought hard with the main attorney about doing something in the case that he said we shouldnt do, then agreed to it, but wanted to spend another "30-40k" just to go into deposition which I refused.. and thank God we did it my way bcasue that's how we won. So i complained about the lack of strategy and the head of the firm stepped in.. at that point I told him I'd retain another law firm, he then said that they could handl what I needed and to give them that chance and will get me all of the info as we chased down the money I am owed. I then receive and email saying basically that the attorney didnt review the whole thing but heres the bank accounts and I should seek another attorney.... ALL AFTER I SAID I WAS GOING TOO. So they had no problem asking me for another 5k retainer to simply not execute on what they said they'd do. Following all of this the head of the firm comes to tell me that he never said any of that and it's the best I can do. I'm not sure who wrote this is the best law firm in the reviews because if this is Az's best maybe now I understand why the best are in New York and LA. Im not disappointed about spending money, I'm disappointed because attorneys can spend at will and it's hard for you to argue.. so when you're promised something and you're not delivered it.. good luck suing the law firm itself. All in all poor experience. They can claim my suit as a win but it was a total loss in my eyes. Trust me, go to someone else no matter what the plan you initially here from these guys is. read more

BEWARE! I reached out to this firm for a service agreement for a service I offer through my company. I was connected with Justin, who said he could handle what I needed and quoted me an estimate of how many billable hours it would take and that it would be done in a couple of weeks. He tried to tell me that he was creating the whole agreement from scratch but called himself out when he accidentally sent me the service agreement for another company that was very similar. He went over the estimate he provided, which I expected to happen. He had to consult 2 senior lawyers, which confused me because he said he could handle this. It seems like they were just trying to burn up the retainer. About 2 months later, the final product has mistakes, and the exhibits were not even completed. When I reached out to the primary, I was gaslighted and given a "courtesy discount" of the amount OVER the retainer that they were trying to charge me for a product that was not usable. From other recent reviews I'm seeing and my experience, it looks like this firm is looking for the quick buck and not building relationships for repeat business. read more

To all those out there with anything more than a simplistic case seeking legal advice, pass on this institution. I searched long and hard for someone to listen to my case. Over the phone, they said they could help. One hour and $295 later, the attorney, Larry A. Dunn basically told me I had to forfeit and pay the Plaintiff's fee. He disregarded the fact that I was active duty at the time of my lawsuit and he just wanted me to settle without further investigation. There's much, much more to my multi-faceted case, but he gave little regard of my plight and basically charged me $300 to give in. The only thing I took away from my meeting with this law firm was the "proper" way to send an answer letter to the Superior Court of Arizona. Information that is available to anyone with internet and the will to educate. I would not recommend Larry A. Dunn or his law firm to any person I actually care for due to the negligence of wanting to understand new client cases and the intricate laws associated with anything outside the norm. read more
