It's that time of the year again! My birthday is coming up next Thursday, and to add to the festivities, I have to renew my tag. Who came up with the idea of having to renew tags before our birthdays anyway? As a newcomer to the area, I needed an emission place that was affordable and conveniently located. Dekra was on the list and only five minutes away from my place. After reading several reviews, I was convinced that it was the right choice, and so I headed over there. Upon arriving, I was greeted by Mr. Benjamin, who gave me clear instructions on where to park my car and informed me of the cost. He immediately started the test, and thankfully, I passed! He then directed me to the Kroger store located right behind the building to get my tag at the kiosk. Overall, I highly recommend Dekra for their quick and easy service, and for the friendly and helpful staff, like Mr. Benjamin. read more

Been coming here once every year for a while now. The thing is, at many other emission test places, the operator doesn't want to be there. The difference between Benjamin and the other emission testing places around here is, he like what he is doing and it shows. He explain what he is doing, before he does it. He is kind, eager, and helpful. Very funny too. This year, because of new battery and the lack of driving for the whole 2020, I failed the test because computer said it's not ready. Now, my guess is, at any other place, the operator would just sent me on my way to the dealership to figure out what's wrong. Not Benjamin, he explained that I have to do a "drive cycle" and told us to look it up online, then bring it back once we finish the process. I did what he suggest and voila, passed. Dekra Emissions Check station are good people! I paid Dekra a visit because they're super close....i'm talking maybe a 2 minute drive from home, and they're fast! I had to get my 2004 Honda accord to pass and on my first visit, it actually failed because...well it doesn't matter why it failed, but staff told me what to do next. In order: 1) get a temporary tag 2) drive the car around a lot 3) come on back to get it retested free in a month. I did all 3 things and guess what? I failed AGAIN! Staff on my second fail was very informative, told me exactly what to do again (Drive the car around multiple times for the week, put at least another 100 miles on it and come back again). I expected to pay on visit number 3, because Dekra staff told me you only get one free recheck, but Dekra said on try #3 that not only did I pass, but I didn't have to pay! Sweet! Located in the Chevron station foot print at the corner of Piedmont rd and Morosgo Dr, the service here is pretty quick. In fact they tell you not to get out of your car! Each inspection takes about 8 to 10 minutes and they'll have you on your way. Happy about my service with Dekra and if you need a quick group who do emissions for you without any headache, you've found your spot! read more

This has been the best experience I have ever had at an emissions test. No one else was there, so I did not have to wait in line and the entire process took approximately 5 minutes total (from saying hi to paying). The attendant was extremely kind, since she genuinely enjoyed her job at DEKRA. You can truly tell a difference in service when the employees genuinely enjoy the company and job, and she made me a repeat customer of DEKRA even though their fees are higher than most ($25). They currently have a coupon going on for an emissions test and windshield wipers ($34.99), but do note that the windshield wipers are the basic kind. Even though the wipers did not fit on my car and I opted to not move forward with the wipers, the attendant took extra time to show me how to replace the wipers myself when I purchase replacement wipers. She really did not have to do that since I turned down the offer to buy the wipers and really appreciated her taking the time to do so. read more

I got what I needed -- a quick and straightforward emissions test. Having lived outside the metro area for ten years I forgot what it was like to have this requirement. I second what others have said about technician Ben. Immediately he began to try and sell me RainX wipers. I told him over and over that I had just purchased new ones online and they would be arriving tomorrow and that I was capable of installation. He definitely tried to make me feel guilty for not supporting a local business, which is obnoxious anytime, but especially during COVID as ordering online is a safer alternative. read more

I've been going to Dekra for emission check for the last three years when I lived in Cobb County. Now that I am Fulton I decided to stick with the same company and trek over the Buckhead location. Mr. Ben Floyd at this emission check location (right next to the Zesto restaurant and the Splash laundromat on Piedmont Rd) did a fabulous job with my emissions check- I was in and out in minutes. But the best part is, he had printed out these sheets of paper with the directions to & information all about the SELF-SERVICE TAG RENEWAL KIOSK located outside of the Disco Kroger's, of which I was totally unaware!!!! Everyone needs to come here for their emissions test! Ben Floyd is the nicest and most accommodating person I have come across in a long time! He gets the job done quickly and efficiently. He also told me where there's a kiosk I can go to to get my tags within seconds. I can't believe I never knew about it. I don't care if this place is out of your way... It was great when I found out DEKRA is now open on Sundays which was very convenient and I got right in with no line. I went to get my emissions tested here and unfortunately failed the first time but found the attendant extremely helpful. He gave me great advice about how to prepare my car for a re-test. As someone who isn't savvy with cars, he took the time to explain exactly what to do to get it fixed. I came back and got my car retested late on a Monday and he went above and beyond to see me just in time before they closed for the day. I passed!
