A pretty nice small park. Parking is a bit of a pain now since everything is paid parking/ reserved. There is free parking with plenty of spaces, no time limit, on Crenshaw Blvd north of crest road. Few trails that lead down but also had a few closures for us. Looked pretty steep so wear good shoes.

One of my preferred destinations is Del Cerro Park, especially during sunset. Check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI3SXeZ1Hlo

You can't park here if you're not a resident!!! Just fyi. There's street parking on Crenshaw vs Crest, tho. The trails accessible from this park are awesome!! Great for trail running. Also would be a good not-too-strenuous hiking spot. Saw some mountain bikers having a good time out there, too.

The park is landscaped and has a safety fence just below the bluff to restrict access to the canyon below without blocking the views. The sixteen parking spaces adjacent to Del Cerro Park are designated for RPV Resident Recreation Permit Parking Pass holders only. There are panoramic views of canyons, agriculture, coastal headlands, ocean and offshore islands from this site, and from the bluff top are panoramic views of undeveloped space on the south side of the city. There is a flat grassy play area, and dogs must be on a leash.

ALERT: Due to complaints by local residents, the City of RPV plans to ban ALL parking on Crenshaw Blvd between Crest and Del Cerro Park. On 9/1/20, the RPV City Council will vote on a trial parking ban. Make your voice heard. Here is how to participate: rpv.granicus.com/MetaViewer.php?view_id=5&event_id=1672&meta_id=85774 Proposed parking ban: rpv.granicus.com/MetaViewer.php?view_id=5&event_id=1672&meta_id=85745 Email the RPV City Council at CC@rpvca.gov.

Great place to be in nature! Park along the side of the road and NOT at the park parking lot...it's for residents in the area... Be sure to pack a cold insulated bottle of water on a hot day with plenty of fruits and healthy snacks! It's perfect for a date, for a family picnic day out with the kids to fly kites or play ball (not baseball or basketball...maybe more like soccer or small football or small frisbee). Even great for Dogs but keep them leashed. Some people are scared of dogs for their own valid reasons. The hiking trail is called the Portuguese Bend and it's so beautiful! We went there a few weeks ago and the kids noticed snails crawled up some branches of bushes and were just chilling on the stems. Lol! Now, I've been here several times in the last few years but I've never noticed that until my other single mom and our kids told me. So cool! And those silly little lizards! I swear...I think when they feel threatened...they need to look tough so they start doing push-ups! Lol! Hilarious! Enjoy! Oh! And please DON'T litter! Thank!

It's a simple park but what sets it apart is the view. Located high above the rolling land and ocean below, the spot provides more than a 180 degree vista of everything below. The are a few park benches along the front perimeter of the park where you can relax and breathe in the fresh air coming off the Pacific. It's a good way to decompress. There's a nice size grassy area where you can spread out and have a light picnic. There are some trees to provide shade but not much. Most people seem to stop here on their way before or after hiking to enjoy the view before moving on. Some people do reserve the limited parking spots in the park and stay for awhile. There are quite a few family and group events held here as well. About the parking; check the spot before you put the transmission in P, get out and walk your happy self away unless you want a ticket. Some of the spots are permit only. Also, there are marked spots for the street parking that are permit as well. The parking police make regular visits and write many "have a nice day" parking citations. Yes you can park along the street and that is where the majority of hikers will park. It's only the first few spots that are permit only. They have it well marked now with curb/street paint and signs. No street spots open? Head back to the intersection and you'll find more street parking on the road opposite the church side. The park can be found way at the end of Crenshaw (heading south) after you've driven up the curvy incline for a couple of miles.

I came for a hike a few weeks back and the views here are wondrous. It's the best ocean views I have seem in South Bay. It could have been really nice weather, but these were the best shots I have ever taken with my camera. The water also glistened in the most surreal way. Definitely will be back once the lockdown is over.

The scenery here is beautiful, spacious, and natural, but seeing a snake ruined my mood. Parking is also not convenient.
