Nataliya Prokosheva, who oversees the department, demonstrated a lack of effective leadership and people-management skills. During my time at the company, I frequently experienced unprofessional behavior, including being spoken to in a disrespectful manner, public criticism, raised voices, personal remarks, and what felt like workplace bullying. Rather than creating a supportive environment where employees could learn and grow, the management approach often felt intimidating and demoralizing. Constructive feedback is important in any workplace, but there is a clear difference between professional guidance and personal attacks. For a company that strives to maintain professional standards, this type of behavior should not be considered acceptable. I believe many employees would be able to perform at a much higher level under stronger, more respectful, and professional management within the Bookkeeping department. That being said, my criticism is directed specifically at Nataliya Prokosheva and her management style within the Bookkeeping department, not at the company as a whole. Although I did not have the opportunity to work directly with the owner of the company, my overall impression of him is positive. Based on the way the company operates and the feedback I heard from both employees and clients, he appears to be a professional and responsible business owner. I also had the opportunity to work with many talented, friendly, and hardworking colleagues who made the workplace enjoyable despite the challenges. OG Tax and Accounting has a strong team and significant potential for continued success. I sincerely hope the company addresses the leadership issues within the Bookkeeping department, as improving management practices would create a much healthier, more productive, and more respectful work environment for everyone.

This is not the first time I've contacted a business based on their stellar ratings on Yelp and then been extremely disappointed. I know it's the height of tax season and Ms. Brush is very busy. I bring in all my statements, forms, and they input it on the computer. Last year, Christine did that for me, and then I met with Sam to go over things. By then I was newly married, and he compared filing jointly versus individually, so we could see which one would work in our favor in terms of getting a return. A week later, they emailed us the pdf to sign off on it electronically and submitted it to the IRS on our behalf. This year, I saw Sam directly, and while he put in our info, he asked us questions about work --I had done some contract/freelance gigs-- and health insurance, and made conversation. Really friendly and personable guy. He's a very thorough person, giving you proper documentation -- and the copy of your tax return is thick. Like a big packet type of thick. He isn't a shady accountant/CPA, he gives you everything in detail. Maybe they are all that thorough, but I don't know for sure. When it comes to taxes and money, you gotta pay for quality. Some of his staff lack any sort of people skills, but I'm kind of used to that from Chinatown businesses. They can be kind of brusque and abrupt, no smile or any kind of pleasantries. But I don't take it personally. His office usually has sodas and water, probably meant for the staff, but he's friendly enough to offer it to his clients as well.
