One star is one star too many...all I can say is Taco Bell has nothing to worry about...I had the big fat beef taco and it was tasteless, my hubby had the carne asado taco and it was tasteless as well! The fries were good...the staff was courteous but slow the place was clean but I have to give it a big fat thumbs down! I was so disappointed really how can you screw up tacos!!! I stopped here on a whim as I was driving home after visiting a loved one in the hospital. I had no idea there was a Del Taco in the Treasure Coast let alone Florida. They are prominate in California as a step above Taco Bell, which isn't saying much, but anyway I was curious to try and see if it's similar to the ones out west. When I stepped up to the counter, I was greeted by a big LCD screen to order from. The menu was quite expanded from what I remember so I just ordered a couple Tacos and a combo burrito. Ordering was easy, I was the only customer inside at about 8:30 pm, and before I knew it, my order was ready. The taste was ok, but one thing noticeable is the cooked ingredients weren't hot and not really warm but barely Luke warm. I should have returned it but I was kind of in a hurry to get home, so as I type this I'm a little worried if I'll get sick or not. Not the best first impression when a basic order with zero crowds doesn't meet public health standards for temperature. If I don't get sick, maybe I'll try again. To Del Taco management, please use this review for feedback to train staff on proper health standards and be sure cooked items are at the proper temperature. read more

I've only had Del Taco in California so when they were opening here I was exited to try them again. It been a while. 4/5 $10.39 Combo 1 Meal with 2 hard tacos, chili fries and drink was made fresh. Their tacos are bigger than Taco Bell's and they surely loaded up the cheese and other fixings. 4/5 $6.99 Queso Loaded Nachos was ok. I prefer cheddar cheese on my nachos but that's just me. Still made fresh and enjoyable. 1/5 Kiosk order was such a let down; I hate these things. It's not that I can't use them...it's that others who don't know how to use them always take so much time to figure it out. While sitting and eating my lunch, I saw the line grow and grow. Oh Del Taco, my great friend, how I have missed you! G told me there was a new Del Taco here, in Florida, here in Saint Lucie County! Oh Del Taco, how I've craved your crunchy, fresh chicken hard shell tacos and your tasty, crispy bean tostada (beans, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, Del Scorcho sauce). Since moving from Out West, there has been a Del Taco hole in my heart. How these flavors take me back to SoCal, a long workday of visiting all my retailers in Fountain Valley, Little Saigon in Westminster and the gritty parts of Costa Mesa up by the 405 & the 22 freeways. Loading scratcher tickets into a smoke filled Cafe Dang and Cafe Miss Cutie, the girls teetering on their lucite stilletos and bringing me avocado smoothies and orange juice. On to Van's Bakery, Tan Xuan grocery store and the Samoan gang liquor store in Garden Grove and then a lunch break. Where you ask? At my beloved Del Taco! Delicious and inexpensive food, keeping me happy when I didn't have much money. Bean cup with cheese and onions in the cold winter rain, and always the aforementioned chicken hard tacos. Sometimes Queso Loaded Nachos but in those days they were called Nachos Supreme (add extra jalapeños). Down on PCH in HB the 50 year old Del Taco still stands, with it's identifiable brick curved awnings. We used to run over from the beach and grab bean and cheese burritos and diet Cokes. Now it's a coffee place or something, but in our hearts it will always be Del Taco. Coming to Florida offers different and lovely things, such as Mission BBQ and Pollo Tropical, but I surely did think about my Del Taco. And now, now you are here, in my own town! I really wanted to like it .... I had high hopes for Del Taco, but this visit was a total disappointment. The fries were awful--dry, lukewarm (closer to cold than warm), and hard without being crispy. No amount of sauce could've saved them. They give you a lot of fries, but when they're this bad, that's not a good thing. Even the drink was a letdown. While the large size was impressive (think Burger King's XL), it was slightly flat, which took away from the experience. I also ordered the grilled chicken burrito (#7), but asked for it without fries inside. Unfortunately, that didn't improve things. The burrito was a soggy, soppy mess--just unpleasant to eat. Overall, this was a terrible meal, and I wouldn't go back based on this experience. I will go back again. I will give it a little bit more time to make adjustments. As it is new to the area. I will order differently next time as well. read more

Was excited to try it for the first time, but the experience was just terrible. Staff was not engaging, ordering on the kiosk was painful. Would not let us use our coupon, staff tried to help but were not helpful. Purchased two soft Del Tacos and a quesadilla. Tacos were soggy and cold, missing tomatoes as well. Quesadilla was ok albeit also cold. We did order the donuts, they were at least good. Yes, it's fast food...I should have lowered my expectations. read more

Taco was over packed with lettuce and soooo much cheese but barely any meat. The ratio was all wrong. Also I ordered a large fry, they tasted like they were made earlier in the day. Tasted like expired fries, texture was off. I was excited to give this location another shot but it fell flat once again. Didn't take long for management/ownership to screw this place up. Good at first, but now they are horrible. A hamburger with two bottom buns that looks like someone sat on it before they gave it to me? Am I supposed to like that? Having five people order after me but get their food first is your business model? Employees on cell phones on the line, while making food, and not changing gloves after they stick their phone back in their buttocks pocket does not sound like something very sanitary to me, how about you? It was typical Del Taco that we have in California. The food was good, they forgot to ask or give me any hot sauce. I asked for ice tea, didn't ask if I want sweet or plain. They gave me sweeten ice tea that wasn't even drinkable. Other than that it was good. read more

I got off work early and decided to try the new Del Taco restaurant. I parked, walked in. The interior is lite and airy design, which was a nice change. I checked out the menu since I have not been to a Del Taco before. I ordered the epic combo beef & bean burrito meal that included fries and a drink. I got my drink and found a seat. It was not too crowded but busy. I waited till my name was called, went up and got my food. I'm glad I grabbed enough napkins cause I needed them. I sat down and unwrapped the Borroto yo check it out. It felt like I was trying to handle a water balloon. It was so jam packed with beans and meat that I was lost to where to begin. I literally had to use two hands and was afraid to set it down that I will never pick it back up. After two bites, the "balloon" popped. I lost most of it on top of my fried on my tray. What ingredients I was able to save inside the tortilla, I ended up rolling the tortilla into a tight roll to finish it. Now what to do with the other half of the Borroto on my fries. I didn't see any utensils in eyesight, so I ended up using my fries and fingers to scoop up beans and beef on my tray. I'm sure it was a sight watching me man handle my food. I got it all eaten and 4 napkins later. I could relax and digest my dinner. I am sure there is a YouTube video to see how to eat that burrito properly. One bite of each taco because the first was like putting undercooked Masa in your mouth m. So I gave them the benefit that the other would be better, Nope. Neither were edible, one was missing or did not have hardly any lettuce and the other was missing tomatoes. 3 parked cars, 1 person ahead of me in drive thru. The big shrimp taco on Friday special was ok. It came with three shrimps in a taco, salad and salsa. It was fresh, but cold. I would have liked to have the taco warmed up. Service was quick and professional. We did not go inside. Exiting is a big difficult. One has to drive around the building again. And coming south on US1 is impossible. I absolutely love this place! The taco (crunchy) are big and full of meat and cheese along with tomatoes and lettuce! The cheese is grated there so the taste is amazing every single bite! I got chips n guacamole and omg! You can tell it's made fresh daily it has sooo much flavor! I normally don't go so hard for a place to eat but this place really surprised me and I'll definitely be going back! I highly recommend !!! The girl taking our order was knowledgeable and friendly. Getting our food took a little bit which was our only complaint but it was worth the wait. The burrito was big and full of flavor, the tacos were stuffed to the top, the French fries were so good and cooked /seasoned perfectly. One star is too many, but the only option We were excited to try this new Mexican restaurant, as we love Mexican and it is convenient for our frequent trips to Sam's Club. The first disappointment was at the kiosk. The woman in front of us was next in line. But she didn't know how to use the kiosk and then after her friend showed her how to work it, she started going through every menu item offered while her male employee friend(?) continued to hover over her, his arm hanging over the screen with a red card in hand ready to comp her meal, explaining every conceivable option offered for every item, to her. She finally finished, he used his card, and went through the door to the back. This all took a good 10 minutes. We finally got to the kiosk, created our simple order of a burrito, 2 tacos and 1 drink, no special requests. We provided the name, I got a table and my husband waited up by the counter. About 7 minutes later, I noticed a large family of 5, who was still working on getting their party to decide what to order while at the other kiosk when we sat down, had gotten all their food. We still waited and waited. I noticed the party of 5 were finishing their meal and we still hadn't been called. My husband went to the counter and asked where our meal was and why had people after us both theirs and were finished eating. They were clueless. They couldn't find the order. "Something must have gone wrong with the order at the kiosk and it didn't go through." We knew it had completed, because we had entered the call name and completed the sequence. She finally found the charge, refunded it and as we were leaving the counter another employee called our name holding a tray of food. Seriously?? 23 minutes after we placed the order, after a party of 5 ate their food after ordering AFTER us and now they get to ours? They never offered for us to take the food free for our trouble, which would have been the right thing to do, or offer a discount card for a future purchase. They had already been open for a month, according to the manager who simply refunded us and offered no explanation for the situation or resolution. We wasted over a half an hour for "fast food" and left with no food, hungry and beyond frustrated. Terrible experience, never again! read more
