We were in St. Lucie Bakery on Monday for a couple of things, and were greeted by the lovely owner Kelly. She's so friendly and accommodating, and creates a beautiful atmosphere at St. Lucie Bakery. There's an array of goodies there, baked goodies, artisanal pastas, delicious breads, (we always love the prosciutto pepperoni loaf), sandwiches, cheeses, olives lots of varieties, sun-dried tomatoes, and the list goes on! I went before Easter and although there was a line it went fast. I bought much and was wondering about your lemonchello cake. Do you actually use lemonchello in the cake or just call it that? Ordered the Italian meat sandwich and asked if the chicken cutlet sandwich, which is #2 on their menu was served hot, which she said it was, so then i said I will also take the #2. " Miss Congeniality " starts slicing méats and cheeses and asks what additional toppings I want on the sandwich, I tell her, and then she says " the same on the other one? " to which i said oh are those the same options for the chicken? She then snaps at me that she thought I wanted two of the same -& yells at me " you watched me slice up all that meat and cheese ". I'm sorry but how am I to know she wasn't making another for someone else or how much they put on one sandwich? And besides I was looking at what other marchandise they had and trying to see prices that weren't on items. When the sandwiches were completed she just grunted at me when she handed me the bag. They have great products and everything is fresh and tasty. Some very good Italian pastry. I go here when visiting my Mom because I can't find anything equivalent in Central FL unless I go into Orlando proper but I think prices are very high and because of that, it's not a place I would go to weekly, more like a monthly splurge thus I have to drop a star. read more

My daughter heard about this place so we decided to check it out. Fair warning do not go if you are hungry. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. We were in awe of everything they had on display: various types of olives, pasta sauces(especially Vincent's from Mott Street),pasta just to name a few things. The bakery was unbelievable. They carried every kind of pastry you could imagine and then some. My daughter loves the Italian tri colored cookie so naturally we got that. We got a pistachio muffin, crumb cake, slice of cheesecake, and a pastry with spinach and feta cheese. My 6 year old granddaughter picked out two different kinds of chocolate mouse tarts. One had a cannoli on it. She kept walking around the store saying "this place is amazing". We also got two Italian subs that were filled with meat and a chicken cutlet sub. The subs are very reasonably priced. Everything was freshly made. The girl who helped us was very friendly and helpful. We spent more than we normally would have elsewhere but it was well worth the price. Based on what we spent, we couldn't go every week. When we got home we split the subs between my daughter, son in law and myself (my granddaughter just wanted the meat so we gave her some from each since they were so filled with meat) and we sampled the pastries. We saved the rest of the subs for later as well as the pastries. Everything was delicious. We warmed up the spinach and feta pastry later. It was fantastic. This place is definitely a must to go to. The cookies, cake and pastries are fine. I also found the staff to be very nice on the occasions I have stopped in. However take note the prices are very high and most are not posted. So unless you want a big surprise when you check out you have to ask about almost every item you order. In addition they charge a 50 cent surcharge if you use a credit card. This isn't posted anywhere and never mentioned. I never noticed since I usually buy many items but last time I stopped in I bought one item for $3.50 and was charged $4.00. I didn't notice till I got home. So just keep this charge in mind if you plan to use a credit card. read more

Bakery / Italian grocery / Deli The St. Lucie Bakery is a little pile of Italy all in one spot. Looking for Italian (style) baked goods like cookies and pastries? They got em. Looking for imported Italian dry goods? They got em. Small deli for sandwiches with an Italian flair? They got that too! The store is located in a small commercial strip on Bayshore Blvd. Upon entering, the bakery part is primarily on the left and the dry goods and deli to the right - but there is also a lot of overlap as they have shelves of goods everywhere. Baked goods were delicious but we have primarily stuck with the cookies to date. The dry goods section can be further divided into fresh / frozen and grocery with a nice cross section of goods represented in each category. The only thing we noticed, and someone else mentioned, was some stuffed olives we bought from the cold case were not as fresh as they could have been end ended up going moldy in a few days. Not sure if it is an issue with their refrigerator or they are not paying attention to the freshness dates. Prices are on the higher side but that is the norm these days. I visited this bakery, a couple times and a couple times I wanted to call and complain to the owner about the service. Particularly the little long haired blonde girl behind the counter. Gave me attitude a few times and giggled behind the counter at what I ordered. Most of the times I get dry Old goods. I'm just not coming back anymore. Mean girls don't exceed . Grow up. read more

today I decided to give this place another chance. I bought a semolina bread and when I got home I could taste the bread is not fresh baked today for sure. They think people don't notice these things. This bread was at least from yesterday. they sell dried sausage that is old and very hard to cut not to mention eat. I find this type of things insulting to the customers. today's buyers are well educated and they know what they want and how it suppose to taste. maybe one day we'll have a Doris Market open up in Port St. Lucie. This place is authentic Italian bakery. I had the chocolate cannoli and my wife had sfogliatelle. Both were fresh and delicious.

For my concern I had the 2nd photograph and that was not too dry and just moist enough. The first a cupcake was for my love one, as I'm not a fan for cupcake. But He loved that red velvet one! Fist time coming in here and all I can say, WOW! Everything looked amazing and yummy. They carry variety of Italian items you would expect to find in a authentic Italian market and bakery. We tried their Italian fresh subs made to order, and are the best I've had since moving to Florida. Their fresh Italian bakery goods will rival pastries, cookies, and cakes you expect to find in NY.
