I am not a softy but, even I was taken back by the unfriendly "welcome". Course is in need of some TLC and, because of its undulations, your lie can be tricky on occasion. Greens are ropey but hey, it was summer and very dry so perhaps they will pick up a bit once the rains arrive. I have played some tough tracks and this is in the top 10. It would be easier to score in a convent unless you are willing to keep your focus. If you are 18+ handicapper then you will need plenty of balls, literally and metaphorically. You will need to find the fairway on most of the holes as there are a lot of trees. Even Robin Hood would have struggled on this woodland course. My personal favourite hole (stop your giggling plz) was the 11th. Very challenging tee shot up the face of a cliff and I was rewarded with a 'birdie'. The 19th is a bit faded and choice of draught pop & sustenance is very limited. All in all, worth a visit but not a stay :( :side note - Vauxhall test circuit runs alongside at various spots so many strange vehicles go whizzing by ..... #not4FaintofHeart

Try to approach the racecourse from Brixworth/Stoke Bruene, as the A5 gets very congested NB I never win!!!!!!

There is free parking in the carpark right outside and it is not far to drive into the town centre from here either. Bad Review - Robinson Pool & Fitness Bedford…read more My 10-year-old daughter has had a swimming membership at Robinson Pool & Fitness Bedford for 2 years, but in the last year we have become extremely disappointed with the management and the conditions of the centre. First of all, they do not have enough staff for all the children. Many times, the kids are left alone in the pool without proper supervision, and time goes by without them learning anything. It is frustrating to pay for a membership and see no progress because of poor organisation. The changing rooms where the children get dressed are in terrible condition: dirty, with food leftovers, hair all over the place, and dirty floors. Nobody seems to clean them properly, even though a children's swimming facility should be hygienic and safe. The area where the children take a shower after swimming is a disaster as well: dirty, messy, and the drain is always blocked, so the kids end up standing in dirty water. This is unacceptable for a centre that claims to maintain standards. On top of that, they never have swimming caps available for the kids. Every time I ask at reception, I get the same answer: "We are waiting for stock, we are waiting for stock." The same excuse for months. After everything we've experienced over the past year, I do not recommend this swimming pool.

This is a pool specially for families (i.e with young children learning to swim) all the people who use this pool are understanding as everyone is in the same position and with children. Pool 3 - The diving pool. This has 2 diving boards, one on the pool side, one midway up and a high platform (with no board). Obviously the pool here is very deep! Due to the way they split the pools up everyone gets what they want and can do it peacefully! This pool also has a gym but I have never used it. Perking here is often difficult as it gets full very quickly.

There are also indoor tennis courts, basketball courts and football pitches available for private bookings. All-in-all a very good, well thought out complex that provides a great deal of entertainment and activities for most people.
