For a while, though, the food became pretty average, so I stopped visiting. During the FIFA World Cup semifinals, I decided to give it another shot. I ordered an Old Fashioned and the tavern burger. The burger was excellent, while the Old Fashioned was just okay. Yesterday, I returned with a friend, and I'm glad I did. The smoked Old Fashioned was outstanding--possibly the best I've had in Rockland County. We also ordered the shrimp appetizer road house burger and the OG tavern burger, and both were cooked perfectly. The server and bartender were both friendly, attentive, and happy to answer questions and offer recommendations, making the experience even better. I'm happy to see this place back on top. Between the excellent food, fantastic cocktails, the welcoming service, and the unique setting, it's earned a spot back on my regular list. Looking forward to coming back again soon.
