Having driven the couple of hours from Orta to Locarno is was ready for a coffee, and the espresso did not disappoint! And the gelato! Two large chillers filled with an extensive variety of fruit and cream based flavours. As tempted as I was by the amazing chocolate varieties, I went with a scoop of mango and a scoop of fruits of the forest. Delicious! Full of flavour, every bite was fab. Finally, on the fifth day, the Gods of Gelato bestowed their graciousness upon me and showed me the not only the most delicious, but ironically also the cheapest gelato I've had during my entire five day search. For a mere 3.50, my L size cup was stuffed with ice cream in such a generous huge pile that my ice cream towered above the rim just like the lovely Mt.Cervino watching over this entire village. The gelato had the taste and consistency of gods' ambrosia, just like they make them at their best in Italy. It was so sumptuously creamy and thick that even in the extreme summer heat, you could take all the time you wanted admiring the pile of goodness in front of you, and not a bit of it would melt away. My pistachio flavor perfectly captured the essence of fresh yummy pistachios, and the cream flavor was just pure creamy heaven, not too sweet, but melting your taste buds away with its velvety smoothness. My sampling partner shared the burst of joy I experienced over this gelato. We wish we could come back again. For summer days, this place has a spacious outdoor seating where you can have your own little fangirl moment over this ice cream like we did.

Gelateria del Borgo is truly amazing and in our top 3 for the entirety of the trip. Usually very busy but the line moves quickly. Super nice staff and plenty of seating just across. Most gelatos in this part of Italy are more soft and airy this specific gelato is rich and creamy, almost wet. Pistachio is great, dark chocolate is awesome and unique flavors like Toblerone the family loved. Highly recommend. Make the walk to the top and don't have the tourist trap gelato at the bottom of the promenade here in Bellagio.

This gelato spot is very centrally located amongst all the other small shops and restaurants in Bellagio and even if there's a line, it moves quick! They have lots of bright and colorful flavors that were refreshing on a hot day. Prices were very reasonable at 2,50€ for a small dish. I tried strawberry (a bit artificial tasting) and limone (lemon) that was very tart and cooling. My wife enjoyed pistachio and something like chocolate chip. It was a nice snack on a hot day.

We bought a whole bunch of their products: cornettos with vanilla, cannoli and big lot of the bite-sized mini-cakes and patisserie. The cannoli was perfect. Hard to get really good ones. And not even in Sicily it was easy to get a good one. But they pull it off perfectly here. The small bites were great as well. Some with pistacio, some with berries, some jam, some with nuts. All really good. Many of them were heavy on the marzipan. We do enjoy good marzipan, and this was one was indeed really good. We loved it. Price-wise also very fair, nice staff and a huge selection. A fantastic place. And we will definitely be back.
