El mole siempre ha sido uno de mis platillos favoritos y el mole Poblano de aquí fue de lo mejor que hemos comido. Compramos para llevar a casa y poder compartir un poco con nuestra familia. El servicio fue estupendo y muy agradable. Esperamos volver pronto!

Five for the service and atmosphere, 3.75 for the food…read more The room is beautiful and the murals make a lovely backdrop for the meal. Be aware that the prices are high for the locale. There is an English menu available online but not in the restaurant. Here's where I get confused. The service is excellent, full white tablecloth treatment, old-school European style. No detail is missed. Then we get to the food. It's really pretty good, all told. Here's where the attention to details goes sideways. The bread rolls felt as if they had been sitting since yesterday. The beans, although delicious, had sat around on the plate long enough to be room temperature and develop a crust. The totopos stuck in the beans were in the beans long enough to get soggy. The rice served alongside the moles was barely above room temperature and a bit dried out. All the food, in general, needed to arrive from the kitchen much warmer. Essentially, anything that could be made ahead of time was, and then left sitting out. It doesn't fit and I don't get it.

Not to Be Missed…read more Cemitas is a complex sandwich that is similar to what people in the US would call a sub or a hoagie. Nice crusty roll to start to which meat, vegetables, and various toppings are added. These are so varied that it would be impossible to list them all and I only tried bites of two of them so I have no idea what you might discover taste-wise. What you will discovewr is an authentic native non-touristic experience with a memorable sandwich in a circa 1950's lunch room complete with talented musicians busking in an orderly way playing music which everyone in the place found familiar. There is no elegance other than in the total authenticity of the food and atmosphere. If you are in Puebla and want to see what the regular people do for lunch, by all means go!

Waiter alone is what gave this place an entire other star for me. Super attentive and friendly. Restaurant is small and convenient if you're staying near or around the zocalo. Would I come again? Hard pass. I'd check out a near by mercado that has cemita's and would bet that they have better.

I hadn't had a real quesadilla in years and the one from here brought me back to life! It was soooooo good! I also had a liquado de platano, Nuez and guayaba and it was delicious! We ended up coming back on our last day and we all agreed that from all the food we ate on our 5 day trip, here was the best! Will be coming back when in town!

It's like a giant food court featuring many different eateries. There were a couple places selling candies and other sweets too. I walked around the whole place before making my decision lol. Every time I passed by a place, they were pressuring me to eat there. I decided to try the pozole combinado at La Comadre since I haven't had it during my trip yet and felt like eating something soupy. We also ordered a large guava smoothie at a different place and brought it back to the area we were having lunch. The lady took a long time to make it- she even ran out of milk, so she had to go somewhere and get some more lol. The smoothie was worth the wait though- it was so delicious and refreshing! The pozole was a little bland and there wasn't enough pork or chicken, but presented nicely. We were saving our stomach for our next destination, so I didn't try anything else. Definitely check this out if you're in Puebla- there's so many choices, you're bound to find something quick and easy to fill your belly.
