Very disappointed as my family and I have been coming here for years. In the past on arrival you got an authentic Colombian welcome, no longer the case. The waitress seemed bothered that we were there disrupting her phone time. She couldn't be bothered to offer us water. We had to wait for the person who dropped off appetizers to ask if we could get water. She never came back to check on us until she came to drop off the bill. Not that there is ever an excuse for bad service but it wasn't even busy just one other table with guests and it seemed they got no engagement either. So disappointed with this experience. First and last time. 1. Order was wrong. I asked for salty plantains and was brought unsalted savory plantains AND sweet plaintains. 2. Apparently I ordered the "Diabetics Special". There was NO salt on ANYTHING. I appreciate these folks looking out for my high blood pressure but whoever heard of a Spanish restaurant that doesn't put salt on their food??? Even the egg was unsalted! 3. The rice tasted like plain boiled (unsalted) rice. Normally in a Spanish restaurant they cook with love. They put some butter in the rice and give it that high calorie shine. they drop some onions or some chives in their as they cook it. usually the rice alone is a meal. Not here. 4. That's a big issue I had in general. The food tasted like someone had been forced to cook it. There was no thought in it, no joy. Just "Whelp that's what's on the menu, so let's serve it up." 5. Water was not refilled. Did not seem like they cared a whole bunch to be honest. read more

The late night menu is BASURA but the lychee sangria hits! I may try this place again for dinner but it's looking a little slow because they charge a 20% gratuity and the servers barely check in on you. They will also try and argue with you about what you ordered but didn't eat. If your going to make tostones or fries then but some salt on them. Came in on a whim and I'm glad I did. Marcella was very nice and since it was my first time there, she made some suggestions. I went with all her suggestions including the lychee sangria! Omg you would not be disappointed. It is sooo good and light as well. You can definitely taste the lycee which I loved. The only thing I would suggest if they added fruit or some real lychee on top to make it more eye candy. I ordered takeout so I had the drink while I waited. The food was good also. Unfortunately, the beans were bad. the beef was oily and bland in the paisas plate. I am Puerto Rican and the beans were sour meaning it was bad. the only thing that was good was the passion fruit. Delicious food! Tried the paisa and the tilapia. Both were amazing and the servings are quite large. One dish is like two servings. Meat for both was so tender and well-seasoned. The yucca and fried plaintains were heavenly too. The ambiance was casual and comfortable. The waitress didn't speak much English, but we still managed to communicate well! We also tried the soya y mango smoothie and a coffee. Not much mango flavor in the smoothie, but still refreshing. Coffee was fresh and dark. Would definitely recommend! Wow this was a hefty delivery meal. So much food for $30! I got the Bandeja Paisa, which was very similar to my wife's Carne Asada except I got a fried egg and pork rinds! They were $13 and $12 respectively. The steak itself was fine - it was a tad bit tough and salty. However the pork rind was fantastic. The rind is essentially a cut of pork including the skin. The combo of the steak, rind, and egg went well together. The highlight of the meal though was the rice. I have no idea how they make it but it was absolutely amazing. You also get an incredible amount of rice with each of the meals we ordered. I probably will order delivery from here again. I got 3-4 meals worth of delicious food for a great price! read more

Big fan of Las Delicious Colombianas 2 in Hyde Park. Come here regularly and they serve great Colombian food that's always freshly made in huge portions. It does take a while to cook, but it's because they are making it fresh. Some of my favorites are: toston con todo, bandeja paisa, and the sancocho de res. Can't go wrong with any of the dishes here. They also have a breakfast buffet on the weekends, but I haven't personally tried it. read more

Had to bring it down a few stars since my original review. Have had undercooked chicken, bland flavors, old plantains etc etc etc. after spending over $50 a pop on every order, these are not the issues you'd expect from a restaurant that's been open for a while now. I asked if there was a different cook or cooks, and the answer was "no" which makes it worse showing that there is no consistency in the food/cooking. You can't have it be great one day and horrible the following day. No follow up from management will probably mean I won't be going there anymore. I'll stick to the Puerto Rican and Dominican places I frequent. At least I know what I'm getting. read more

I have ordered from this place before for breakfast so I assumed it would be a safe bet. My daughter was already starving so I ordered the food around 11. GrubHub said it would take about an hour and that is weird since I literally live like 7 blocks away. They updated the order and said it would be there around 11:35. At 12:05 I checked GrubHub and it said my order was delivered so I call the restaurant. It took me a while to communicate to the woman who answered the phone that I was not trying to make an order but was checking on my previous order. She asked me if I could wait an hour and I asked why on Earth would I wait another hour when it had already been an hour and a half. She then asked if I could wait 40 minutes, I LIVE 7 BLOCKS AWAY. I asked her why I had to wait and why someone updated the status on GrubHub to delivered when I didn't get my food and she simply said they didn't know. Although I like this place this is a bit ridiculous for a Sunday morning when my daughter was hungry and looking forward to her meal. I will think twice before having food delivered from this place again. P.S All I ordered was a bacon and egg burrito and the salchipapa w/eggs. No apologies were offered and no discounts offered, It is currently one hour after I called and the food still hasn't arrived. The burrito was awesome with great melting cheese but again the tater tots were so greasy all you could taste is the oil it was fried in. The salchipapa was good and the quail eggs are definitely a good touch but again for the second time I was left wishing the fries could have been fried for like 1 minute more, It was a bit soggy and underdone in the middle.
