The good: I love the potatoes and the large portion size! The overall taste is good. The bad: Where is the meat? This was a gyro plate and there was very little gyro (I counted 5-6 pieces) that were relatively small. I've had gyro dinners before and was disappointed by this. We ordered 2 pork souvlaki dinners, 1 chicken souvlaki wrap, and a gyro dinner. Both pork souvlakis were burnt and black. I was the only customer, so I'm not sure how they were so inattentive to burnt my food. We tried to eat around the burnt bits, but the bitter taste was still there. The chicken souvlaki wasn't burnt, but was dry, and they barely put any tzatziki on the pita which made it even more dry. The gyros had pieces of bone in it? This restaurant has take out or delivery service. I decided to take out and in kinky took about 20 minutes to get two chicken souvlaki platters. The food was warm, and the portions are large. Each platter includes 2 chicken skewers, potatoes, rice, pit bread and a salad. I have to admit the food was delicious on all fronts. They have great prices given the large portions and tastiness. First time trying this place. Huge portions and great price. Its a very small place. Two guys cooking and one is also taking orders over the phone which explains why I couldn't call to pick up at a later time (he can't write orders or type it in, will slow down their process). Had Chicken and gyro dinner. Potatoes were huge and they have the sauce with it which goes well with the rice. Many places don't have any sauce with their greek potatoes. Overall flavor was good and considering their price, you can't complain. We had fine dining yesterday double the price and would orefer this meal. Tried to make an order for a dinner package. Menu says need 2 hours and I called more than 2 hours ahead and was told they can't do it, they need a day in advance. When I questioned it that their menu says 2 hours, I was VERY rudely told they are busy and cannot make the food. the person on the phone was terribly rude and I will NEVER order from there. After being a loyal customer for a few years now, my family and I will not be returning after tonight's experience with the employee. (Jan 5) When I had initially called to place an order for a Pick Up, I felt extremely rushed as the guy was so quick to take my order and hang up. He didn't even take my name or number. I thought to myself that it was weird, but continued to wait the allocated time he told me before driving over to pick up my meal. As I was pulling up I noticed a man leaving the store. I walked into the store letting the man working that I was here for the pick up order that I had phoned in. He looked at me puzzled and then proceeded to tell me that he actually just gave my food to the guy who just left... Confused as I was, I proceeded to remind him of the reasons on why taking the proper precautions and getting someone's name/phone number while doing a take out order is necessary if you want ensure happy customers. He had the guts to tell me that he doesn't care about proper customer service and business practice, and either I re order the food that I wanted or to get out!!!??? I was shocked. Of course I wasn't going to wait a now additional 30 minutes for this rude guy to cook my food. Clearly he doesn't care about his customers enough to show any sign of respect. This guy is one of the rudest people I have ever spoken with. Couldn't understand anything he was saying (super thick accent) and was yelling over speakerphone. Zero customer service and they don't sell just their skewers, which I found odd. Ok so been to this place a couple of times for take out Greek food. The first time I tried it was at a friends house at a party. Well done! I placed my first order to see if it was still worthy. Good meal! Then the ultimate test, we had ordered catering for a child's birthday party with the whole family coming over. (fingers crossed) Success!!! Even my dad liked it, and he's really picky about restaurant food. So there ya go. Had it last week, because we were in a pinch for a quick dinner, these guys came through. All good. Empty plates and smiles all around the table. Awesome! Honestly, it's not the Danforth here. But it's good food. It's consistent ( so far). The prices are reasonable. The service is good. This place is easily missed . The plaza on the south side of wellington in with Home Hardware. Once you find it you will continue to go back. The food takes time to come out as they cook everything fresh as you wait. Calling ahead is a good idea. They have great salads and lots of variety mainly greek food but burgers are available. Rude guy on phone when order placed. Couldn't hear what he said. No name, no phone number even though I asked if he wanted info. "Ready in 20 minutes". Just walked in and I was inquiring about the student special on the wall. Owner rudely replied to me that it's only for students I showed him my college student card and he said it's only for students beside the resturant all smirky. Food was good. Not amazing...but good. Souvlaki dinner was a nice large portion especially for the price. Chicken was flavourful and juicy. Salad was good. Pita was disappointing. Potatoes were good but not traditional greek potatoes given that they pour tomato sauce overtop of them. Place needs a nice cleaning and a coat of paint or two. I'm all in for a dive with good food...but if the front of the house can't keep their tables and floor clean, how clean do you think the kitchen is that they're preparing the food in? If you want a CLEAN and friendly environment that you come to expect when someone else is making your food , please go elsewhere. Anywhere really! It's sad that such a place exists in this beautiful city of Aurora. If you feel unwelcome and like you are ordering food from an individual who takes zero pride in his business and customers you are not alone. It's ok we all learn from our experiences in life. There are certainly plenty of poor reviews here. The way you take orders, prepare the food, and treat people is truly ABYSMAL I am not even going to waste my time with my personal experience of being disrespected and treated like he is doing me the favour of eating his food. A couple things to think about if you do happen to make the same mistake: -He needs to be wearing gloves when he prepares the food or at least wash his hands after touching the phone, money etc. You have to order over the counter in the most impersonal way to an individual who isn't really listening, do your own due diligence and please watch him prepare the food. We are dealing with chicken here and that worries me as it can be dangerous for our kids. -why don't you try hiring a couple of FRIENDLY people to help take orders and have some kind of interpersonal skills as you have no clue. I actually want to give it 0, as in don't ever go here. I called to place an order and gave my name, but he stopped me and said we don't take names only orders, which seems very confusing. He told me to come in 15-20 minutes. I got there in 18 minutes, and when I walked Into the store and told him my order he said "check your phone, I said 20 minutes". I told him it had been 20 minutes but he disagreed and told me to come back in another 20 if I wasn't happy. I said he should take names when people place order to prevent me from waiting 20 minutes every time I get there, even after placing an order over the phone. He then proceeded to tell me he doesn't need me business and he isn't serving me food. This owner is so rude it is unreal. Amazing customer service and very high quality of food. Prices are very reasonable! The best in Aurora/Newmarket. The previous reviews of unfair prices or being charged extra are ignorant. Any restaurant should be charging extra if you request extra meat, extra tzatziki, in order to remain sustainable as a small business. If you don't want to pay extra, don't request extra. If I could rate a 0 I would...I've heard good things about this place in the past so I thought I'd try and order from there. I didn't even get to try the food because of the TERRIBLE customer service, nor will I ever. A few weeks ago I called to order takeout where a man said "What would you like to eat?" I tried to ask him a question about the menu and he just kept cutting me off and repeating that sentence. He did this several times where I couldn't even get a word out until he said "I don't have time for you. Look at the menu online, figure out what you want and call me back." and hung up. Furious, I called back and he answered right away with that same sentence. I explained that I was just talking to him and wanted to ask a question about their menu online. He replied with "Our menu is very straight forward." and continued being rude. I told him that his actions were unacceptable and that I would never eat there again. Today I went there for my usual chicken pita wrap & salad. IWILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE!! Indian man behind counter was extremely rude to me because MY chicken was cool and dry that I just paid for. I told him a week ago I made same purchase for lunch & my chicken had charred bits on it and was re-heated and dry (maybe from yesterday?) His response: Why didn't you complain then, I complimented him & said because the food has been great til that point, and I was driving back to work. (lunchtime 1-2) But today, he was making a large order before mine and simply threw my order together with a leftover souvlaki with only 3 pieces of dry charred chicken on it. I tried to tell him this time and he would not hear of it, making me feel like I was not worth it-also saying that in this place the customer is NEVER right. I also told him how I had bragged about this store to my co-workers and when I went to tell my co-worker (Xray Tech) she said that she had encountered a very similar conversation, made her feel that SHE was not worth the conversation and was rude to her.
