It was my first time trying this restaurant. I ordered takeout over the phone and after the call, they texted me directly after to let me know how long it would take. Since it was a Saturday night, my takeout order would take about 40min. I ordered the family feast dinner, which included 8 souvlaki sticks, a large Greek salad, a large lemon potatoes, rice and fresh house made tzatziki and pita. We also decided to order a large rice on the side. The Chicken Skewers were delicious, so fresh and marinated so well. The Greek Salad was a bit small for large, but it was pretty good. The Lemon Potatoes were well cooked but were a tad bland for my taste The Rice was my least favourite, it was pretty hard and not enjoyable. Lastly, I was pretty surprised to see the pita was actually cut up into squares, it was an interesting change from what I'm used, but still pretty good. For the amount of food we got, it was pretty worth it, I wish they gave a bit more salad though ( it was only enough for 2 people ). Our bill came out to around $60 after tax and was enough for a family of 4 adults and we still had half a portion left over the next day. They staff were so kind and friendly as well. Ordered from here a few times for delivery while at work. Their wraps taste amazing! Having said that I had stomach issues the first time I tried their food. Turns out it was the freak sauce. Lots of my friends and coworkers have no issues when they have the sauce, but I'm more sensitive to it I guess. I ordered without the freak sauce and had no issues. Just a heads up for anybody who had issues. The ingredients were fresh and delicious otherwise! Would recommend! read more

This place is really good. Sometimes they got our order right but sometimes they get our order wrong often times we have to drive back to get the order fixed. We've learned our lesson to check all the items before leaving the store. I personally find their chicken needs to be cooked more. Sometimes we come home and I notice the chicken isn't cooked to well done. I had a deep craving for some Greek food and I've tried just about all the places in Pickering, even some that aren't billed as Greek restaurants. At best, they've been okay but none have really satisfied me until now. My trusty Yelp app pointed me towards Greek Freak in Ajax, close enough to home. With four and a half stars and only one negative review, I had to investigate. They were quite busy when I arrived around 7:30pm. A lot of customers were waiting for their orders. Although there's a few tables, maybe enough seating for at least 24, it seems like a lot of their business is takeout, including UberEats. My craving was specifically for gyro but they were sold out. Darn! I considered leaving disappointed but the aroma of the cooking on the grill was too enticing so I went with the pork souvlaki dinner. Their menu is simple - pork or chicken souvlaki, and pork gyro. Meat fest. That's it. With no table service, I ordered at the counter and found a table. It didn't take very long for my order to be cooked. It was a big platter, with two sticks of pork, rice, roasted potatoes, pita, Greek salad, and their house made tzatziki - all generous portions. The pork was nicely seasoned but maybe a minute too long on the grill, making it a tad dry (for my liking). The rice and potatoes were good. The pita was very fresh and the salad very good, with just enough dressing and lots of feta. The house made tzatziki was Wow! You could call this place Garlic Freak! It's a good thing I love garlic. This tzatziki is really good! I'm going to be bold and say this is the best Greek food I've had in Durham! I'll have to come back to try the gyro. I ordered the freak dinner, which included a small Greek salad, four souvlaki sticks (chicken or pork), lemon potatoes, rice and of course tzatziki. It was a little over 20 dollars. For the amount of food it is well worth it. Everything was seasoned and cooked well, tasted fresh. Also got the pork gyro pita wrap w freak sauce, delicious and again very filling. This was enough for a family of 3 adults and we still have half a portion left over. This is not just a take out restaurant where they scoop from the counter. 3.5 Stars. It was our first time doing a take out from here and it was pretty good. Not the Danforth quality but much better than Mr. Greek in my opinion. We ordered an 8 skewer (half pork, half chicken) family combo with Greek salad and lemon roasted potatoes for sides and added 200 g of gyro meat. The gyro meat and the pork skewers were the stars of the show along with impressively pillowy potatoes and their stellar homemade tzatziki. Everything else was as expected with the chicken skewers being our least favorite. They were dry and underwhelming at best. All this was $45 + taxes and let's just say we have enough food leftovers from this dinner for at least 2 more meals. So overall, pretty good value for a decent take out option. read more

This is the hot spot for Greek cuisine in all of Durham. I got the chicken souvlaki dinner, which comes with 2 skewers of souvlaki, Greek salad, lemon roasted potatoes, pita bread, homemade tzatziki and a bed of delicious rice. It's good value for the portions received. Everything is delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff are also very welcoming. If you order in-restaurant, do be prepared to wait about 20+ minutes as everything is cooked fresh (another bonus). I didn't mind the wait, but you can also order in advance online if you're strapped for time. Either way, I highly recommend the Greek Freak and will be a returning customer. read more

4.5 stars. One of the best Greek restaurants in Durham Region. Really authentic flavors, nice sized portions, and THE BEST pork gyro sandwich I have had in my life. It's a miracle how the bread holds all the toppings and doesn't fall apart as you eat it. But yes, try and get a bite with everything - the meat, bread, fries, onion, tomato. Honestly, it's a bite that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The restaurant has decent amount of seating for dine-in, but there were a ton of take out and skip-the-dishes orders, so they were busy cooking orders the entire time we were eating dinner. The Greek garden salad was delicious, feta was creamy and not too salty, souvlaki were tender, fries seasoned properly. I would definitely recommend getting extra tzatziki because you're gonna need it. We left very full, and smelling like garlic/olive oil/oregano and skewers on the grill. Minus half a star for not having lamb or a fish option but that's obviously at the business owners discretion. The dine in area will also leave you smelling like the food, so just plan your shower until AFTER you eat.. Will be back many times. read more

Worst Greek Place in all of Durham Pre ordered for Father's Day and spent a $194 and when it came I lost my mind. The salad would feed only one person and I have a party of 6. I was so embarrassed, the rice and potatoes were the same. It came with 16 kabobs and half a personal salad. The owner Spiro Stahas should be ashamed of himself for charging 94$ for the family feast and I ordered extra kabobs. Thank God skip the dishes refunded my money and I returned the the order. I asked to speak to him but of course he's unavailable. He's owns 2 Greek freaks. Fair warning never ever order from this place absolute rip off. This one was the Ajax location. They have a sign posted that shows either 8 kabobs or 16 and both come with the same size side orders. It's disgusting that they can get away calling this a family feast. read more

The staff were super friendly and the food was great, just a touch to much fat on the pork for me (it was easy enough to pick around though). The free wifi was great and allowed me to work while eating in a clean and well kept environment. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other menu items. read more

I wanted to enjoy this place more but was underwhelmed. I've ordered it a few times now and each time it's been just okay. The quality and flavour reminds me of food court Greek you would get in a mall but you're paying restaurant prices. I really wouldn't recommend anyone get the rice, it's very bland and dry, the potatoes are alright, nothing to write home about and certainly don't resemble being roasted as the menu says but more like boiled ones, but for the price again I would expect something better. Same goes for the salad, closely resembles a basic bagged salad from the grocery store. Vegetarian options are limited, maybe in the future they will add a roasted veggie wrap or plate and I'll try it again, perhaps I'm just not ordering the items which most people enjoy from here as someone who is mostly vegetarian. Very meh experience food wise, but the staff has been very friendly and fast everytime we've visited. read more

We ordered their food for the first time via Skip the Dishes and really enjoyed it! We got the family meal that came with 8 kabobs (mix of chicken and pork) generous serving of potato and rice. It was intended for 4 adults and 2 toddlers and it was perfectly enough. The quality of the food is excellent! Much preferred the pork skewer but chicken is equally nice. Unfortunately we never got to try the Greek fries even though we ordered it, and they forgot it in our order, but refunded us the money swiftly with no issues. I went here for lunch on a Friday, January 18, 2019. Usually on Fridays, restaurants around the industrial areas are very busy so we left early for lunch. This place was a bit busy with people waiting to receive their order. There were 3 workers. I wouldn't say the service was slow but I don't think they were prepared to beat the rush hour. We waited around 20-25 minutes to receive our food. When my friend asked about his order (after 20 mins of waiting), the man with a man bun said "Look I am not walking around here, I am working and sweating.....". He did apologize but his aggressive comment was uncalled for. They should've been prepped way before lunch to serve their customers on time. This is not a dine-in restaurant to be waiting for over 20 mins. Customer Service needs improvement!!! read more

Been to Greece, ate on the Danforth but....this place by far is one of the best. The gyro wrap or gyro freak dinner is truly amazing. The gyro they use is flavoured perfectly and it is literally a perfect balance of meat and fat marbled together. The rice with the meal is probably one of the tastiest al dente types of rice I've ever had. Lemon infused potatoes and a great dressing for their salads. I urge anyone looking for a Greek fix to look at the Greek Freak. read more

We came here for lunch and ordered the authentic Greek souvlaki sticks feast which comes with 8 skewers (pork or chicken), two sides (we got salad and rice), pita bread, a tub of tzatziki sauce and we added an order with Greek fries. Everything was BOMB! Best Greek food I've had in the GTA. The souvlaki was well seasoned and their fries were sooo good with the perfect amount of feta and lemon. The rice was well seasoned and my mother in law wanted to ask the owner for the recipe after eliminating rice from her diet for a while. There were 5 of us and there was not a trace of food left. The food was all made fresh to order and I couldn't help but notice how good the pita (Greek Freak Pita) looked!! Their pitas were huge and are loaded with souvlaki or gyro, fries and tzatziki. They also have gyro and whole chickens on their menu. Definitely coming back soon to try their pork gyro and to get some more of everything!
