Avoid this place It has gone downhill fast. The man at the counter was rude and downright belligerent. They throw the food on the table in take out containers with cheap plastic fork and spoon no napkins and NO Condiments whatsoever. Food is mediocre and more expensive than other places. Had the vegetarian version of chicken stir fry with peas and gluten over a bed of rice. It was quite flavorful though my peas were undercooked. The place is very small and that's the only reason it did not get a 5 star. In the evening it fills up fast, which means it's popular! I saw the fried mushrooms dish being ordered by three different tables and was told it's one of their more popular dishes. My friend and I tried rice noodles mushroom and veggies and was surprised at how good the mushrooms were but sad that the noodles was of the crispy variety and not the soft big noodles. Next time I need to be specific and say soft noodles not fried or crunchy. The staff speaks very good English and are very knowledgeable. Don't be afraid to ask them for advice. They don't serve any milk items and use soy instead. The food was great! I'd definitely go back to try more items. read more

I can't decide if Delicious Vegetarian or Affinity Vegetarian Garden is my favourite Asian vegan restaurant in Winnipeg :) Be sure to get an order of the deep fried mushrooms for the table. They are the best! Can't go wrong with any of the dishes though. They are often closed for a month in the summer and I don't believe they take debit so maybe call ahead. read more

Just don't tell the carnivores they're eating textured vegetable protein and tofu and they won't even notice. I was in Winnipeg over the Canada Day weekend and visited Delicious Vegetarian, which was just a short walk from the hotel where we were staying. What a treat! We ordered the hot and sour soup. I love h&s soup, but rarely get to have it since it is rarely vegetarian. This soup did not disappoint. It was thick and rich and could have been a meal in itself. The serving was quite large. Get this soup when you go! We also had an eggplant dish, also outstanding. And we had one of the vegetarian beef dishes, which was good, but not quite the same caliber of good as I am used to with other veg. beefs (Winnipeg folks, when you come to Edmonton, visit Padmanadi and order the ginger beef, you'll see what I mean). Overall, it was a terrific dinner. And I will be back when I visit Winnipeg next, whenever that may be. read more

We stop here every time we're in or around Winnipeg. This place has fabulous food to satisfy carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores. Everything is vegetarian, but the food is so delicious that the carnivores in my family weren't complaining at all. We like to try a few different dishes when we come and have always left happy. This time, we arrived late (it was a long drive!), but we called ahead and they were waiting for us and served us even though we arrived only 15 minutes before closing. Good thing we came when we did because they told us that they were closing for a month for the summer. We thought about kidnapping the chef and brining him back to Minneapolis, but a guy in the trunk might have been a bit hard to explain to Border Patrol. I have been dining at Delicious Vegetarian Restaurant for seventeen years and have always been impressed with the quality of the food. The vegetables are consistently fresh and flavourful; the atmosphere, comfortable; and Mani, the woman who works there, is always friendly and courteous. My favourite dishes are the wanton noodle soup, spring rolls, sweet & sour gluten balls, sweet & sour tofu, and the tofu with vegetables and chowmein. The only thing I would like to see change is for there to be a delivery option. I am still hoping. read more

Everyone will like the food here, if you don't like tofu, don't get any tofu dishes but the fake meat dishes are amazing. Always huge servings. First time I did lunch I was stuffed. Dinner will have you taking take out. Still had to drink alot of water later in day so thinking still heavy on salt as is most Chinese restaurants. read more

I recently went here with a group of friends because a few of them (including my wife) are gluten free and this restaurant has a few menu items that are gluten free. I have been once before and went again this past weekend I can honestly say that both times I was not disappointed .The server was friendly and very accommodating to any of the special instructions that we asked about. We got the tofu in the peanut sauce as well as the vegetable fried rice and deep-fried mushrooms. The fried mushrooms were a huge portion and were divine all by themselves, so was the vegetable fried rice I even combined the tofu with peanut sauce with rice which was an awesome match. If I lived in the area I would go every weekend, it seems that Winnipeg lacks restaurants that offer awesome vegetarian options this is definitely one of them that makes up for the other ones that don't exist.
