I walked in right at closing time, they were putting chairs up but I had come from the airport after a punishing travel day. The young man yelled to someone in the back and within minutes I had hot food to go! When I got to my hotel I was stunned at how good the food is. Checked this place out yesterday. I enjoyed it and I'll be going back to try some other things there. I had the cheese, eggs and herbs on a pita (can't remember the actual name of it) and it was quite good. They have a fair amount of veggie options, although none of their main entrees is vegetarian. The thing I had was a bit small to be a whole meal. Next time I go I'll order more. The waitress was nice, but maybe a little inexperienced. When I went in, I asked if I should seat myself and she said yes and handed me a menu. I assumed because they have menus that they come to your table to take your order. I was sitting there for quite a while before this nice, old man at the table next to me who had come in around the same time told me I had to go order at the front. He was actually expecting the waitress to come, too, but he finally just went up and ordered and I guess that's how it's done there. read more

Wow that sucked. The 'server' came over and told us that you get your own water etc and come up to order. It reeked of 'sheesha' which is half tobacco. The items such as falafel had stickers covering them up on the menu. Just got a humus to go and left. read more

So this place is awesome. Family run Palestinian food. Stopped in with a friend. Started off with a cup of Sahlab. A wonderful warm milky drink made from the starch of the orchid plant and flavored with cinnamon and coconut. Ordered the hummus and mutabal dips. The hummus was clearly home made and silky smooth. Drizzled with olive oil and chickpeas. The mutabal is similar to babaganoush but a bit more smokier. Both are made from eggplant. They're both served with some delicious pita that is slightly toasty but still soft. Next we got some manakeesh. Manakeesh is like a middle eastern pizza but it's baked on top of a pita type bread. Zataar was first up. It took me back to Ramallah. Zataar is a mixed spice that has a lemony thyme type flavour with a touch of sesame seeds. We got a cheese fusion as well. It's half cheese and half tomato sauce. The tomato sauce side has a tangy dressing drizzled over it. The meat manakeesh we got were the Musakhan Chicken and the spicy Yafa chicken. The Musakhan was delicious. It had a tangy flavour that I think was lemon salt which paired really well with the dark meat chicken on top? So good. Slivered with almonds it was delicious. The spicy yafa chicken had cheese on it and was white meat. Not as good as the Musakan. Finished off the dinner with some argileh. We got a grape mint combo. It was awesome. The hookah served there has no tobacco or nicotine. It's all natural and a nice smooth smoke with a nice fruity flavour. It went for about 45 mins. A nice way to wind down a meal. read more

I cannot stop recommending this restaurant to everyone. My friends and I come here regularly, and can vouch that the majority of the food is high quality and absolutely delicious. I've ordered from Yafa before and me as a middle eastern the flavours are there! I just wanted more season so I called them a little more seasoning so I told them and they took it with a grain of salt my order was great! Their fetta is amazing! read more

The food here is SO fresh! They have been great about making exceptions for my allergies and their deserts are delicious. If you're in a budget the manakeesh are amazing and so affordable. The sheesha is always properly kept and the pita are so fresh and amazing. If I'm to be honest the service sucks. The wait staff isn't properly trained. They don't pay attention to their customers, forget things, and don't bring the right cutlery to eat the good they brought. But I STILL give this place five stars! read more

This was my first time here, and a very pleasant surprise! The restaurant is small, but the portions are huge. The interior is cute, cozy, and clean, and the menu is descriptive and thoughtfully written. The shawarma poutine is delicious. The food may take a little longer than other places, but that's because the cook everything to order. The ambiance feels very similar to some restaurants I've been to in the Middle East, with friendly staff, great hospitality, and water jugs readily available for customers to fill their cups from to their hearts' content. We were full from the poutine, but took home a shawarma plate and freshly made baklava to enjoy later. Thank you for such a wonderful, welcoming, and relaxing supper. read more
