There were two rooms and I sat in the long one (the ceiling arc reminded me of a tunnel for some reason) with the duck mural. The menu contained lots of Polish dishes and a dedicated duck section. A duck and pickles appetizer was served gratis. It spread easily on the accompanying slices of bread and was nice. I've not had duck presented like this before and when I piled a couple of the smaller pickle pieces on top the tartness added more complexity for the flavors. I'd order this if it was on their menu. Zurek soup tasted a little tangy and was filled with sausage, mushroom, potatoes plus a whole egg and was delicious. I wasn't sure what to expect but all the different ingredients made for an enjoyable bowl. The bread bowl also contributed by thickening the soup as it abosrbed the broth. The duck breast with smoked plum sauce was thick, cooked medium and very tender. There was a little too much sauce for me but I liked the different taste. The side of glazed carrots and peas had a hint of sweetness and completed the dish along with the potato gnocchi. Service overall was good and efficient. Would return.

I guess we should've read the description more carefully, as my husband was dying for the kind he'd had while visiting Ukraine. Those were filled with plump cherries in a sauce like you'd find inside a cherry pie. These were very bland, mostly marscapone, with tiny bits of shredded cherry. I would estimate that less than a cherry was inside each dumpling. My hubbie never leaves food behind, but we left most of these.

The decor of this milk bar was by far the most inviting of the ones I've seen or visited on this trip. While outside checkout the cool cow models below the windows which were enclosed with the exterior lighting. Inside was full of greenery and bright. Even the menu stood out with the colorful handwritten blackboard. Staff were very friendly. I grabbed an open seat and shared a table with three others. Staff came over to deliver my utensils and quickly highlight the menu. I walked up to the counter to place my order and pay. I decided to get the daily special and deviated from the Polish cuisine I've been eating the whole time here. The mushroom soup was big and delicious with a strong mushroom flavor. Also, there was a pianist playing holiday music among other notable tunes. Being here myself, it was nice to listen to. I ordered the pork chop, breaded and fried, with roasted potatoes. I also got a hot ginger beer. It's not the soda we have in the States - it's actually a beer with ginger, lemon, cinnamon, and clove. Since it's beer based, it's a little out of my comfort zone. I would normally like something like this if it were non-alcoholic and sweeter but it grew on me as I drank it. The pork chop was really good - very basic, comfort meal. There are a lot of choices in Krakow but since I just arrived and was hungry, I stopped in as I knew they had good food.

I found the place and just fell in love with the beers. Having just one, I wanted one more beer that was on the darker side, but with me I have to eat something to go with it. I called my Wife and asked her to come to this place and order some pizza. Looking at the menu, it was your typical Polish pizza style, so I ordered one on the small size and waited for my Wife. Well they both came at the same time. Pizza looked very different from the ones I ate here before, a bit smaller but it really looked appetizing. I took one bite, and I just could not believe the flavor and taste, it was awesome and the best tasting Pizza I ever HAD HERE in all of Poland. With this I had to find out the "why", so I went into the restaurant and to my surprise there was a stone, wood burning oven just turning out those awesome pizzas. Now to pull it all together , the Chef, a real Italian Man from Napoli making the pizzas. No wonder it was so good. I have been coming to Poland for over 25 years on Business and I had a lot of Pizzas here, but the pizzas are manly a special type of their own Polish versions, not to say that there's not good in anyway. It is just not the real good old fashion Italian ones that I like, like the other areas of the world.
