I'm not one to complain normally but I had a really bad experience here.
I picked this salon recently because of the convenient hours/location. I actually loved my hair stylist to death and was completely charmed by her. She is a very nice lady and seems to know hair. I maybe should have been tipped off when the appointment seemed to go on for a long time. Another woman was having a foil done at the same time - I've definitely had hair appointments where the stylist had two clients at once, but my partial foil and cut took over two hours.
My hair looked alright at the salon (maybe it was the yellow lighting and the fact that it was past 8 pm on a work night) but as soon as I washed it for the first time at home, I could see it was a mess. None of my roots were actually dyed. All I did was ask for a partial foil to get my hair lighter - but all the streaks were put in at least half an inch from my scalp, so it looked like my hair was dyed two months ago, not two days ago. But the worst part? I wear my hair up nearly every day. I put my hair up and immediately saw I had more blonde streaks on my left side than my right side - I was all lop-sided. There were 3 glaring chunks on the left that didn't match the right. I asked people and they saw it right away. I'm a very low maintenance person when it comes to hair - I'm the least fussy person I know when it comes to hair - but this was noticeable and it seriously bothered me. I should also note I haven't had my hair colored in 2+ years so it was totally even to begin with. The blonde color was put in unevenly and it was drowned out by whatever low lights were put in. I really don't understand what happened, but it didn't look good.
I could have called to get this fixed, but I honestly didn't trust the salon after that, so I went somewhere else. This other stylist told me that I had more blonde dye on my left side because it bled - meaning that the foils had come loose and dye had basically bled out to the surrounding hair. She had no idea why my roots weren't even touched. And she said that the toner that had been put in was making my hair dry, it was completely unnecessary, and it made my hair this yellow color that doesn't go well with my skin. She also said the stylist was putting in low lights in an uncoordinated fashion - she basically said she had no idea what was done to my hair and validated my feelings about it being a mess. Thank god she fixed it. She put in a color that is flattering, my roots are done, and I can put my hair up in a ponytail without feeling embarrassed. And I actually look blonde, too, which is what I asked for originally.
So... I can't say I would suggest anyone go here. I have never had a foil gone bad in my entire life until I went here, and what I asked to have done should have been pretty simple. In the end I ended up spending $300+ for a partial foil because after going here I had to go elsewhere to get my hair fixed.
By the way, I called the salon to inquire about their refund policy and to tell them what happened. My number was taken down and I was told the manager would call me. She never did. So my opinion overall of this place is extremely low. In terms of both hair and customer service, they did a really poor job and I will never go back. read more
