The staff is friendly, doctor is as well. This was my experience with LASIK. My procedure was conducted on 5/8/15. Post surgery- approximately 5 Minutes after leaving the recovery room, I became in EXTREME discomfort. I could not open my eyes to even blink. My sis drove like a mad women to get to the nearest pharmacy to fill the prescription, and purchase over the counter pain killers. The discomfort did not subside until nearly an hour later, and I still couldn't open my eyes completely. I was escorted home, and went straight to sleep. Day 1(full day)- my vision improved, however, was blurry. This was expected, as the doctor stated it will take sometime to achieve my full results. The street lights, and car lights had a glare, which worried me. Day 2- Today was much better, although my vision was still blurry, i felt well enough to work out. my right eye is slightly more blurry than my left. This is also the eye they had difficulties inserting the suction, which resulted in burst blood vessels. At night there is a glare over street and car lights. I asked my sister if she also saw the glare, however, she didn't. My fear of night glares grew stronger. The following update will start after a full week of recovery. One week later- my eye is healing! The redness has reduced, and I can see well. I still have hazy vision in my right eye. I continue to have night glares, and noticed I'm sensitive to the sun. Recently I've been experiencing sharp pains in my right eye. I'm going to the doctor if this pain continues. One month later- glares and Halos are still present, and hazy in the right eye. :( praying that it goes away. The pain hasn't returned. Hope this helps someone! Do your research! read more

I have been waiting a while to get LASIK done and a finally did it. I process was pretty easy. I set up a consultation they called me to confirm and asked me a few questions and basically stated that I should not use any contacts 3 days prior. It was crucial to get exact measurements for LASIK. I followed the pre-op instructions. Their was two doctors one preformed a basic eye exam and then Dr. Dello Russo evaluated if I was a good candidate for lasik which I was. Tatiana was wonderful in explaining everything and how much it would cost etc. which I received a great discount. Everything went well. I got the lasik done and they gave my xanax to relax me which helped. They scheduled me for my follow up appointment 5 days later. To remove the contacts. Which was quite quick and I was able to squeeze in all my questions. Just make sure you read the contract it will explain everything you need to know. Vision is 20/20. And I can't complain. My experience was stellar. My vision is absolutely perfect now - it's the best thing I've ever done! My friends also had Lasik here and raved about it. The staff are super helpful, nice and professional, and when I experienced some discomfort from dry eyes after the procedure, Dr. Dello Russo returned my call right away and assured me it was normal. I used the drops they prescribed and the discomfort vanished. I also have had some eye issues over the years - some small, others not so small. In each case, I called Dr. Dello Russo and he gave me simple, excellent advice. In one instance, I had a bump of some kind on my eyelid; Dr. Dello Russo quickly diagnosed it as a swollen gland or something and advised that I try a warm compress on it. I did so, and it literally disappeared 20 minutes later. After being there for months. In another instance, I had a serious issue that could have reached my eye and caused problems including potentially blindness in the eye. Dr. DR had me come in right away for a quick eye exam, in which he assured me my eye was in the clear but to contact him if anything changed. Thankfully, everything turned out ok but I was very glad to have the expert reassurance and spot-on diagnoses from the doctors here. I went there because I always heard the radio commercials. I could never see good through my left eye and I let him know that, they said no problem they could fix it, got the procedure done went in for my check ups my vision got slightly better but never clear my last appointment with them some lady was trying to convince me that I could see good through my left eye when I couldn't, della Russo told me that he wanted to set up an appointment but I put it off because I was going on vacation. But then the year has passed and they wanted to charge me 150 for an appointment, and to see if they could fix it. I had gone to see another doctor for an eye infection and The conversation came up about laser vision and I told him that I used Della Russo. And the doctor told me that "He couldn't operate his way out of a paper bag".. after that I did some research and found that he had a lot..!! of lawsuits. So I'm out of money and I don't wanna go back to him for the correction because I don't trust his work. read more

I am picky, have a very strong prescription (-9.5 and -9.75), astigmatism, and only have 2 eyes so I did my research when considering LASIK. Out of the 3 NY surgeons I interviewed, I went with Dr. Jeffrey Dello Russo. The Brooklyn office on Court is very close to me, and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and efficient, and I especially appreciated that Dr. Jeff patiently answered all of my questions. I felt he was honest about what results I could expect given my prescription, didn't come off to me at all like a salesman (which some do), and seemed to genuinely care about me as a patient even at my free consultation (which was my first time in the office). I read up on blogs, articles, journals, etc about refractive surgery, and researched Dello Russo as well. I had my surgery a day ago and though I'm not yet at my best predicted outcome (20/20) it is pretty incredible being able to see without glasses or contacts. I think choosing a surgeon is a personal preference so definitely do your own legwork too! read more

Went in for my free consultation back in early May last year after being hesitant for years. I've worn glasses since I was very young. My consultation was done on a Saturday in the Manhattan office. Everyone was pleasant and professional. I spoke with Tatyana and she was very comforting and explained everything to me. I decided to get it done and chose this location in Brooklyn since they are open weekdays Monday and Friday. The procedure was done on a Monday in late June last year and not only was I incredibly excited, I also felt so refreshed knowing that I no longer wear glasses. They'll tell you this but for those who wear contacts, do not wear them for at least a week prior to the surgery. They take final measurements and mark your eyes which feels really weird. The procedure was quick and I was in the recovery room before I knew it. They advise this as well but make sure to have someone with you to take you home as a precaution. I was back to work on Wednesday. Just remember that everyone has a different recovery time. There are 2 additional eye drops that they give a prescription for that you must use for the first 7-9 days. For extremely dry eyes such as mine, they do suggest a process which installs plugs in your tear ducts and that definitely helped. However, I am one of those rare cases where a second procedure was necessary since after almost a year and letting my eyes completely recover and stabilize, my left eye was a little blurry. I went in last Friday and had a quick procedure done and my left eye is clearer now. As a note, of course, not everyone is a candidate for lasik as I referred a friend who is not a good candidate for it. They do however offer alternatives and again there's no commitment and a free consultation. Overall I am extremely pleased with my results and would recommend Dello Russo to anyone who wants an experience with a professional institution that treats their clients like family. read more

Procedure fine, but they charged me $800 more than they quoted me, and it took a lot of effort to get them to correct this. So, the procedure itself was fine--far easier than I expected. I went in to the Brooklyn office in June 2017. Both my eyes needed adjustment, and Micheal, the counselor, quoted a rate for both eyes of $5000; he said that if I made my appointment within a week, he could give me a rate of $4000 for both eyes. I decided to go for it, and I made my appointment a few days later for June 23. At each point, I confirmed the 4k rate. As I mentioned, the procedure was fine. I'm happy with the results. Everyone in the office seemed nice as everyone here has indicated. Here's where it went wrong - the billing. I financed the 4k through Care Credit, which allows me to pay it back interest free within two years. It was very easy, and Care Credit even gave me more than 4k--they actually gave me $4800. On the day of the procedure, I had to fill out a lot of paper work and sign a lot of things before I went in to have my eyes done. One receipt was for billing. The billing wasn't filled in, but I was assured by the front desk staff that the correct rate of 4k would be filled in. I think it was Tatiana or Luz who helped me that day. So I signed, and didn't think about it. Turns out that was a mistake. After the procedure, I was drugged up and unable to see. I was given a packet of care instructions which included my receipt. I only realized a few weeks later that someone from the Brooklyn office had filled in my charge as $4800 (what CareCredit approved, not what I was supposed to be charged). I called the office, and talked to Luz, who verified that my chart indicated that my charge was supposed to be 4k. She said she would let the billing people know, and it would be taken care of. It wasn't taken care of. I called back again in late August 2017, and talked to Arlene, who said someone named Jane would call me back. Jane did not call me back, and my bill still wasn't corrected. Today, I called my counselor, Michael, who said Jane was only one who could help me. After repeated calls this afternoon, I finally talked to Jane, who said she could not confirm that I was to be charged 4k as opposed to $4800 (despite what Luz had told me earlier about my chart indicating that my charge was to be 4k). I'm still trying to get this straightened out. Obviously I was stupid to sign something that wasn't filled out. I'm posting this to warn others to be careful. Even if this is fixed (And, I hope it is), I've still had to go through a lot of hassle to get Dello Russo to do what they agreed to do. It seems more like carelessness on the part of the office or billing staff instead of actual bait and switch, but after five phone calls in two months, I'm pretty irritated, and I feel like this should have be considerably easier to fix. This has been the worst experience I've ever had with a company. I've been asking for my medical files for over a year, and every time I speak to someone on the phone they give me the run around and they never send them to me. All I have to say, is do your RESEARCH before you get LASIK with this company. Go to different doctors and ask for second opinion, I won't go into details but I am moving forward and am going to the board about this company and about my eye health before and after surgery. It's not okay to ignore a patient for over a year to have their medical files, it's their right as a patient. Went for Lasik in mid-July and was able to work out and play sports after 4 days and swim a week after that. Everyone's recovery time is different, but I am sure Dr. Dello Russo makes it so that your recovery is the fastest your body will allow. He also offers free follow ups for a year and a long warranty period that covers any touch ups should they be necessary (may be the case for a minority of people but that has nothing to do with the quality of doctor/procedure). Took the NYC subway home myself immediately after surgery with no problem, mild burning for about two hours after surgery, fully functioning 20/20 vision after 8 hours; I recommend scheduling your surgery for an evening so that you can sleep through the minor pain and wake up to perfect vision. Consultation was quick and price was fair, staff is lovely, and the followups are easy to schedule and frequent enough to ensure adequate care without being unnecessary. read more

Had my Lasik done here 4 years ago. 4 years later still suffer with severe Ghosting, sometimes it is soo bad that I cannot work. Went back for 7 follow ups and each time was told that my vision is perfect and its all in my head. They are hardly the best and hardly the most progressive. After visiting numerous drs in the last few years, the consensus is that I was not a good Lasik candidate and was not supposed to be operated on. read more

Just wanted to write a review of the incredible experience I have had a Dello Russo Laser Vision! I had the surgery about a month ago and it has been life changing. Having worn glasses and contact lenses my entire life to be able to wake up in the morning or middle of the night and see clearly feels like nothing short of a miracle!!! I had been thinking about having lasik for many years but honestly was a little frightened. Turns out there was nothing to be afraid of. The surgery literally takes 3 minutes (not including recovery) and I could see almost perfectly once it was done. The recovery the following weeks was not painful and mostly felt like I had a little sand in my eye. Completely tolerable and well worth the freedom that I now have. I did not experience halos at night or any complications whatsoever and my vision has never been better. Dr. Dello Russo has an incredibly well run office and great staff. They answered all of my questions and took the time to put me completely at ease. And Dr. Dello Russo could not have been more capable and professional. I had an appointment for my first visit (consult) at 2:30pm. Their office sent me two (robo)texts and an email the week prior to confirm I was coming and on time. I arrived at the office at 230pm to find 8 other people waiting in front of me. Finally, after still not being seen, I left at 3:01pm. It's apparent that this place is a volume shop - herding patients through like sheep. Surprising considering I had $5k cash ready to do the surgery - I expected a much better experience. I went to Dr. Dello Russo for PRK laser eye surgery almost two years ago, and I have no complaints whatsoever. My vision is perfect and I have no problems with my eyes. My eyes had gotten too dry to wear contact lenses, so I was concerned that I might end up with very dry eyes post op, but that's not been the case. I found the staff at this clinic very helpful and friendly. I was given very good advice for my recovery. On the day of the surgery I was instructed to call anytime, if I had any problems or questions, and was given the cell number of my contact. I ended up calling him with a concern a few days later - on Thanksgiving! He answered the phone, assured me that it was completely okay that I was calling him on Thanksgiving day, gave me advice, and put my mind at ease. And finally - it's just great to see. Getting my vision corrected is by far the best gift I've ever bought myself. In hindsight it seems silly to me that I ever thought twice about it. read more

I had the procedure on Friday and I am beyond happy that I had it done. It was so easy, painless and quick. Dr. Dello Russo was fantastic and so was his staff. I got my lasik surgery done at the NJ office in June 2017. So far I have been very happy with the entire process. The surgery took about 10 mins & they were very efficient with getting me in and out of the office. I got the surgery on a Friday morning and was able to go back to work on Monday. As of my last eye appointment I am able to see 20/15. It is great not to have to wear my glasses and see everything! I got the surgery done on October last year. While I can see everything clearly during the day and they gave me 2 free designer sunglasses, I still have halos and flashes when I see lights during the night. Doctor Jeffrey Dello Russo told me that it would go away in a few weeks. Then he told me that it would go away in a few months, then said six months, and now it's been almost a year, but I still see halos and flashes everywhere during the night when I see a light (even a small bulb). They make you sign papers before the surgery that you won't hold them responsible, so you can't sue them or take any other legal action against them. I was prescribed an eye drop to help reduce the halos, which I used for a few weeks, but nothing happened - the problem persists. I don't know how long these halos and flashes of lights will last. They seriously obstruct my vision because my eyes are dazzled during the night. Please think twice before getting your surgery! read more

I would not recommend Dr. Joseph Dello Russo. I had Intra Lasik Surgery with him. He had to do three touch ups on each eye due to all the previous errors. This last visit he wanted to charge me an additional $2500.00 for a 7th procedure and i declined. I am sharing my experience. I had my surgery on Feb. 29, 2016. I was impressed by the well-run office, and their consideration of my time. I went in for a consultation, and ended up doing surgery the same day (I was told that this was a possibility when I made my appointment). They did a thorough exam and made me feel comfortable moving forward with surgery, explaining every step of the process and what to expect. The surgery itself lasted only a couple of minutes, which is pretty staggering. I had blurry vision for the first week after surgery, which I'm told is normal, and it continued to improve daily. I'm now at 3 weeks post-surgery and have 20/15 vision! I'm still using drops because my eyes get dry, but that, too, is improving. I started at -8.5, so this is really life-changing. I went to this place to get a consultation after experiencing a problem once I returned from my vacations. I used to wear contacts and the sunlight was bothering me. After they did a few exams, I saw the doctor, and he told me I was a candidate to get the surgery right in there. I am sorry but this already gave me a bad feeling, I felt like I was being rushed to get this done! I left the place and scheduled another consultation somewhere else. I was once again tested and this time the doctor told me my corneas were badly scratched due to the overuse of the contacts or possible the hot temperatures of where I was during my vacation. Then, the doctor told me under no circumstances she could do the lasik surgery, in fact, I was told it would take weeks for me to get fully recovered. I got a few medications and was told to use my glasses, it is until now that I am clear for this procedure, after 2 months. I am writing this review just to share my experience, and you can see it was not the best one. Be very careful of the place you choose to do this please. read more

I recently had the surgery. I was a little nervous going in. The staff is great. The procedure was all of about 10 minutes. No pain whatsoever. Follow up visits went well. My vision basically 20-20. No need for glasses anymore. My only problem is the reading glasses. Never needed them. I can't seem to get used to them. It's only been a month or so. Getting better every day. I got lasik surgery about 10 years ago. Over the past 4 years I noticed my eye site regressing. When I visited the office and was told that yes it did regress enough that I was a candidate for lasik again this time it would only cost me $4,000 instead of the $5,500 I paid the first time. Oh but this time it comes with a warranty. This practice has become much like burger king. i live in staten island ny... i went to see dr dello russo last friday and was seen by a dr other than dello russo.... i was told by this dr that i was a good candidate for lasik.. so i made an appointment to come back the following week... thank god i didn't get the lasik on that day.... i finally saw dr dello russo on march 16th in his brooklyn office.. he examined me and to my surprise, told me that i was not a candidate for lasik.... tatyana and the receptionist were so sweet.... however, the pushy old lady was annoying... she didnt care that i was upset.. she kept repeating that they are the pioneers of lasik... i told her that she needs to stop and listen to me... she didn't care. she didn't want the people in the waiting room to hear what happened!! although dr dello russo told me the truth, it was null and void because of this pushy old lady... and btw... she was trying to push lasik on my wife as she was being rude to both of us... worst place ever... they don't care ... to the pushy old lady...you are just money!!!! read more
