The Cultural Council has their main art building in the city of Lake Worth where they host a lot of art classes, events, local artists and international ones. At The Satellite they have a special exhibition called, "Reimage." It showcases solo artists that are listed in the website of Cultural Council. This pop up gallery is small but a neat space to take pictures and enjoy some good art and design. It's free to the public for visiting. The lecture series events they host are $10 for non members. The front of the gallery has information on special events of local organizations as well.

Blue Gallery was founded 14 years ago by owner Rami Rotkopf who grew up in the family art business in Tel Aviv, Israel. In 2017 they expanded into the 5,000 square foot location next door. Inside Blue Gallery is room after room of modern art, ceramics, sculptures, etchings, paintings stretching down Atlantic Ave. Some of the 31 world famous artists represented in the Blue Gallery collection include David Schluss, Red Head, Patrick Pease, David D'Or, Ron Agam, Niso Maman, Avi Ram, Benda, Neil Loeb, and Lior Ron. The Boynton Beach Culture and Arts Center is an anchor in the new Boynton Beach Town Square. It is…read morelocated in the historic 1927 building that used to be the Boynton Beach High School. The two story building has been refurbished and now has a 39 foot high domed ceiling exhibit hall, exhibition space, and teaching studios. The Boynton Beach Culture and Arts Center hosts dance classes, technical drawing classes for adults, art exhibits, private events, workshops, and classes. Outside the building is public art and two playgrounds. The Culture and Arts Center is a place for the community to gather and express themselves creatively and learn new skills. A full schedule of classes and events is in every Funfare Magazine, printed 3 times a year. This weekend the Boynton Beach Culture and Arts Center is hosting the free 6th Annual Kinetic Biennial. The event has indoor and outdoor kinetic art experiences, installations, and displays from both local and international artists along with food trucks, live entertainment, and artist talks. The large gift shop had a lot to choose from at different prices. We came for the Wine Down event happening right in front of the Delray Affair in April. Wine, beer & soft drinks were available for purchase & I got to unwind & explore the exhibits. The WineDown will be open Friday & Saturday from 12-6 PM and Sunday from 12-5 PM. Proceeds benefit the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce & the Cornell Museum.

I have wanted to come here for ages, but the timing never seemed right. We were in Delray too…read moreearly or too late or on the wrong day. Last week, everything came together and we were finally able to stop by the museum after a nearby lunch. The museum is located on the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Swinton. We've passed by many time going east on the avenue. There is metered parking on the side streets. The museum is in the hundred year old plus Delray School House. We entered and were greeted by the docent/volunteer. She told us a little about the building's history and which classrooms were originally located where before the remodeling was done. She also told us that they have no permanent exhibits, and that all the art work in the building was for sale. If you were interested in buying something, you should inquire about the price of the piece in the museum store. The first floor was occupied with works by the American artist, Dorothy Gillespie. Although she was a painter, she also worked in many different media. She was well known for her creative, colorful metal works of art. One quote compares her level of metal craft and skill as equal to Chihuly and his glassworks. On the second floor -- yes, there is a big staircase, but we took the elevator from inside the gift shop/store -- are works by Chilean-born Gustavo Novoa. Approximately 30 paintings show colorful, luxurious jungle scenes with animals. The volunteer said his art reminded her of the lushness of Gauguin's paintings. On second floor, there is also an exhibit of mosaics from a Mexican school. They are portraits of famous people -- actors, singers, etc. You will recognize most of them. The tiny pieces are put together in intricate patterns to form the faces. In some of them, they incorporate other materials -- like a piece of jewelry as a broach, leather as clothing, etc. They are fascinating to view up close first and then step back to see the overall portrait. The exhibits rotate periodically. The museum entrance is free, but there is a suggested donation of $5 per person which we happily paid. I'm glad we finally got a chance to visit.

I merely happened upon Bilotta Gallery but what a good happening upon it was. The Bilotta Gallery…read moreis loaded with some of the most splendid pieces of contemporary art I've seen with many of their pieces being the works of local area artists. The gallery bills itself as being "The Home of Celebrity Artists," which I really found to be true as it contains some of the works of a well-known actor form a televisions series, one who I would have never expected of being an artist, as well as some works of well-known athletes. I was particularly taken by the works of the late Freddie Pacheco who was the personal physician of Muhammad Ali and well known as the "Fight Doctor" sports commentator in the 1970's. While there, I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Frank Bilotta who really couldn't have been more helpful, friendly or accommodating and who took the time to explain each work of art along with the history behind it. I also noted the prices and was surprised...actually shocked...to see how reasonable the prices were in comparison to what I've seen at other galleries for what I would consider similar works.

This is a not to be missed store in downtown Lake Worth Beach. It has so many different items you…read moremight feel like you are in a museum of unusual things. Yes, there are tourist souvenirs, different gifts, trinkets, and memorabilia. And many of the usual items you'd find -- like t-shirts and jewelry -- but with a unique twist or sense of whimsy or of humor. There are so many different attractive items you won't know where to look first. Then amidst it all are the vintage and collectible items. And even some antiques. There's a back room of vintage clothing, too. Always seeking out a bargain, I found myself sifting through a large sale basket of costume jewelry -- all for only $3 each -- and discovered three items to bring home. We also had a nice conversation with the owner. He told us a bit about his history. I was curious about the mix of new and old items. He told us he even has customers who collect certain things and will approach him to help fill in their collections. If you stop by, allow yourself time to browse as you'll discover a new treasure in every corner. And probably find something intriguing to take home.

She will search no more …read more.. Three + years, my sister has been searching for a specific vintage print/reproduction. She fell in love, the minute she laid eyes on Eau Verdiere at Enoteca Vin in Raleigh, NC. When the restaurant closed - she contacted the owner to see if they were interested in selling the artwork. No response, her quest continued, she searched high and low. Finally, there is hope! With all the weight riding on the visit: My visit, to check out this place she came across on the internet. They have an amazing amount of vintage poster reproductions. She wants it in the largest size possible and sends me to check out quality. I enter the location and make my way up the stairs. I am greeted by a friendly guy and tons of beautiful reprints! I immediately let him know what I am in search of and he instantly thumbs through a stack reprints and pulls out the exact image. Perfect! I explain to him that we are concerned about the quality, once the image is blown up. He is extremely knowledgeable and friendly; he reassures me that it will turn out beautifully. He brings out a sample of the paper the reprint will be done on. It's nice, heavy and will allow for great color saturation. He notifies me there is a larger size available that's not posted on the internet. I walk out extremely pleased! I had hesitations going on this visit. I don't know a lot about artwork and it's obvious. I was nervous that this place would be snooty and make me feel uncomfortable about the questions I asked. This wasn't the case at all. It was a great experience. Now, I just have to convince my husband that we need some vintage artwork as well!

Amazing selection in-house and online, tons of Cappiello. I walked in to pick up my poster, trying to figure out where I was going to take it for framing and what that was going to cost me. Then I took a look around at the gorgeous frames in the shop. They helped me choose a frame that looked great with my poster, and boom -- finished it in a day. One day! Crazy good service, impeccable quality (heavy paper, rich colors in the reproductions, real wood options on frames, nothing looks cheap). Wish I had more wall space for more of this art. Pleasantly surprised by the whole experience.
