I always buy my plants here. There is a vast selection and all are well-taken care of. There are many nurseries in the area but I continue to buy my plants large and small here and they always thrive. The prices are very fair and the service is friendly and helpful. I bought a braided hibiscus tree today and Peter provide excellent service in wrapping it and putting it in my car. I am so happy to have my new plant and I know it will thrive. Robbie is very knowledgeable, responsive, creative, professional and communicates very well. His staff that looks after my yard for 3 years now is also very good, professional and responsive. The Delray Garden Center has been in business since 1989. They are certified by the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association. I always love visiting garden stores for inspiration and I have passed by here many times and was always curious about what they had. You can visit the Delray Garden Center to purchase plants or they will come to you to make recommendations based on your property. I opted to come in person and I am so glad I did. The center is a tropical oasis with a surprise around every corner like a statue, fountain, gazebo, or their rescue birds. Staff was on hand to give help but they also left me free to wander at will. The plants looked very healthy and were priced reasonably compared to other plant nurseries I have been too. I especially loved their orchids. If you don't see what you want just ask. Home Depot orchids may have been Ten dollars less expensive, but orchids like this I have never seen with such vibrant colors and Jonathan took the time to explain to me why. He did not knock the competition, in fact he was very respectful. As I was leaving, he came running after my car because he found a rosemary plant which I could not find, but he had found one remaining rosemary plant He told me they would be getting in more next week so I went back this week So I went back this week and worked with a man named Ivan, who was just as helpful, courteous, kind, and knowledgeable, and went so far to accommodate me, he took apart the most beautiful topiary so I could have the plant that I wanted. He gave me such an education about plants. I could not stop buying...I bought the most beautiful white Anthurium,, Cala Lily and all kinds of other gorgeous oxygenating plants for my interior spaces But the most enjoyable part of all....this establishment is an oasis. It is such a beautiful escape and such a wonderful place to go not just to shop but to relax and heal. one of those hole in the wall places where one really just sees an outdated sign by the road and then drives past it on busy West Atlantic. Drive in sometime and park in the back and it's honestly one of the best escapes into a different world. As soon as you swing towards the back you will be surrounded by jungle like plants, music that is ambient and slightly godly, statues and giant vases, and the overall feeling of slight plant magic. Prices: Pretty unbeatable- it's clearly taken care of by the people who run this place-not some large plant mill Home Depot generic place. All the plants are beautiful- well watered, no yellow leaves, and taken care of. Be careful of mosquitoes b/c of the standing water in some pots and ponds- Prices are cheaper than Home Depot in general and quality is better. Must gets: Terrariums and succulents. If you're a fan of those, they are only 15$ and 30$ for the middle and large sized ones. Succulents look super healthy. I recommend the bonsais too- Clearly some rarer species you won't see sitting around Lowes or Home Depot. Large tropical plants to put in your backyard- the bougainvillea and the hibiscus are lovely (check out the fireball hibiscus) People are friendly and will teach you about the plants- I think people should seek to put terrariums on their table decorations rather than plants from a flower store b/c of the vitality and utility of keeping these longterm! read more

We're from out of town and needed a few plants for my Dad's front yard. We stopped here after going to a larger garden center in Lantana where nobody offered to help or even appeared to be working. At Delray Garden Center, Alex walked right out directing us to parking and immediately asked if we needed help. He was extremely knowledgeable and directed us to the plants we would need. We're pretty clueless about Florida plants and gardening in general. Alex knew it all and was so helpful. It really eased our minds that we were purchasing the right plants. Prices seemed reasonable which was a bonus. The place is clean and well maintained. The large variety of trees and plants looked well cared for. Walked in here today for the first time abs I was in love. The staff was very nice, knowledgeable, the lady who helped me knew all the names of all the plants I asked about. Their prices were comparable with other nurseries around the area. Great selection all around, plants were taken care of, and lots of foliage with their own growth. Their orchids were 3X25 which is amazing. Deep into the center they had wind machines, shades, sculptures, pots of all sizes. I went there today to purchase 2 new plants to fit the large pots we bought there b4. I brought in the exact dimensions of the pots and showed it to Jay, who really wasn't paying attention and said " it will fit & walked away. I brought the plants home and as expected the plant is far too small for the pot. I immediately called the garden center and told Jay I need to return the plant for a larger one . He said no returns allowed. I told him that either change the plant for a larger one or I'll put a Stop on our credit card. He refused to do anything and offered no help and didn't seem to care. He started out helping us but after we had a few questions he just walked away. As a side issue both Jay and the lady working at the counter were of no help what so ever and were poor business people and extremely unhelpful . We recently hired Delray Garden Center to convert our traditionally landscaped yard into a beautiful stonescape. We considered four companies. DGC absolutely stood out amongst them all. DGC removed all of our grass without the use of chemicals.....this was very important to us for our health and for the health of our two dogs. Our contact was Jay. He understood what we were planning to do and he made sure that we put together the right materials and the right plan. The crew that did the job were very focused, detailed and nice. Poor customer service, poor quality. I'm a business owner and worked in the media field for many years; I understand that, at times, things go wrong. My goal in those situations was to make it right. Not so for this business. After trying to resolve issues such as severed water lines and poorly planted trees, I told the owner I would have to speak with Consumer Affairs as he was unwilling to follow through on promises and resolve the problems. He said "I've been here 35 years, knock yourself out". So just be aware, if something goes awry, it will not be handled properly. Too bad because those parrots are so cute. read more

This is a good garden center spot that I visited BUT when we pulled up, there is a huge blue lives matter sign. That was a huge turn off and I almost didn't even go in. I really think that this business needs to rethink its ideology. I spent less money there than I planned, only buying the one thing I came for instead of all the cool things I saw. We were not familiar with this garden center location when yesterday it just popped up with their orchid sign. Glad we visited! Craig (Gregg?) was easy to get to talk to and he was full of information in general. We had a small conversation also with an other gardener, it was a delight. The Garden was bursting with plants, palm trees and great selection of bromeliad and their specialty, orchids. The place had an sweet fairytale feeling with few shags and overflowing garden displays. Totally enjoyed the visit and came home with Aechemea Blue Tango Bromeliad and a little colorful green plant to hang. Will visit again. read more

Beautiful plants, and a long time part of Delray Beach. I have seen some of their landscape jobs, and they are beautiful too. As a fifty plus year resident of the area, I used to love this place, but I am so sad and disappointed that I was not even given the courtesy of a refusal after spending my valuable time and money on assembling the details of a job I wanted done. I met with the landscape person, explained my needs, got instructions from him as to how to proceed, emailed him what he wanted, THEN NOTHING!!!! I can understand that maybe he or his company did not want my job, but at least he should have told me. read more

I went in there for the first time last weekend, high prices for low quality nursery stock. Most of the plants they had were either way under sized for their containers or just overall in unhealthy conditions and the prices were marked higher than other similar/but high quality nurseries like excelsa gardens or similar. Would not recommend buying from them. Guy on a golf cart was also unwilling to help point out where the few plant varieties I was interested in. Maybe I got the short end of the stick, but I won't be going back again. read more

I can't say enough good things about Delray Garden Center; I am lucky enough to live just down the street from their Atlantic Avenue location, and I am so happy that I stumbled across them. The garden center has a beautiful selection of plants, with many native Florida options available, and the staff simply could not be more knowledgeable. They always have a large variety of high quality orchids available, as well as Tillandsias (air plants). I have been fortunate to work many times with Kevin; he manages the garden center and is a brilliant designer, as well a sweet soul. He's personally helped me with botanical arrangements for my friends and family, and also a few for professional contacts - to say that these made a BIG IMPRESSION would be a huge understatement. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to stroll the grounds, there's a lot to take in, including almost a dozen rescued birds!
