Had the turntable for a month and couldn't get any work done. First he said two weeks, I got no call on it's status, so I called them 3 weeks later and they said they hadn't gotten to it yet and that it will be done the following Monday or Tuesday. Called him a full week later and then he proceeds to give me an excuse that his helper isn't there and that's why he's held up. If he told me that in the first place and given a more realistic time frame I maybe wouldn't have a problem, but at this point in time I can see nothing but lies and would prefer not to deal with any sort of cheating on their work. At this point in time, don't bring in a turn table to be serviced here. read more

I have an old Technics 1200 turntable that has seen some wear over the years and just recently the tonearm adjustment got stuck. Called few places around to see how much would it cost to fix, but Delta Breeze was the only shop that told me to bring it in immediately. They did warn me that they are busy and that it might take a week or so to get the turntable fixed if it needs to be opened up. Not only that it took only 5 minutes for them to diagnose and fix the issue (grease solidified) and get the tonearm height ring unstuck, but they also tested the turntable to ensure everything is working as should and all for a very reasonable price. I'm pretty sure a big store would just keep the turntable for a week and charge 10x just to do the same thing. Honesty goes a long way! As long as these guys are around, I won't be taking my equipment for repair anywhere else. As for the vinyl, it looks like they have a decent selection of new and used records, but I wasn't there to browse. For repairs, these guys are experts and I could tell they love what they do. A small business like Delta Breeze is definitely worth supporting. Please do your part and support them too! read more

Took my early 70s Pioneer PL - 41 turntable in for repair, Ben was very knowledgeable and assessed the problem quickly. His expertise was evident in that he knew exactly what the issue was - a degrading plastic disc. He said he could have the part and have it fixed up in a week for about $40. His low key style and zero pressure encouraged me to work with him to do more. We replaced the belt - it was original - and he installed a new cartridge. Out the door and completely dialed in for $150. Great communication and was right on with his estimate. I couldn't be happier! read more

I have a vintage Pioneer record player that needed work because of RCA cables were causing spotty sound. I found Delta Breeze by chance as I was searching for audio repair shops, unfortunately there are zero in Stockton. The shop is awesome, if you remember the days of Tower Records, you'll appreciate DBR. Vintage records, audio equipment, they have it all, back to my review. Yes, they're a fun record store with a good selection, reasonable prices in general, a large bargain bin right in the front and located in a part of town that still has free parking. But what I really want to mention is Ben's ability to fix a turntable. Over the last few weeks I brought in two linear trackers that had developed issues. Ben was able to quickly fix both of them for a completely reasonable price. What makes it even better is that the second one he worked on had previously been serviced twice by another local (but since moved out of town) analog specialist. Said specialist had never been able to get rid of an annoying "THUNK!" that it would produce every time the linear tracking mechanism adjusted itself, but that noise is now *gone*. read more

I was just given a record player, so it was time to buy my own records. The atmosphere is very relaxed and not hip or anything like that, which I liked since I've only been to a couple before. The owner is very friendly and loves music, and he saw me browsing the classical section so we started discussing classical music. I stopped by today because I heard they were running a series of specials (25% on Sat, 33% on Sun, and 50% on Monday). Being a fan of mostly funk, soul, Hip and R&B, the selection was a little limited, but great music nonetheless. Picked up albums from Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, and Mahalia Jackson for $7. While checking out, I shared with the guy working that I'm a fan of Funk and Hip Hop, and he pointed to crates of records near the door. I ended up picking up a dozen or so from the pile including albums from Jay Z, Maxwell, Wu Tang Clan, and others. Each album from the pile was $1, so ended up scoring a dozen records for under $20. Called in after hours of research not being able to find a new turntable under 100$, of quality, with features I actually needed. Wanted a no frills upgrade from one of those vintage looking ones from bed bath and beyond I'd been using for years. They had varying ranges in price in stock and showed me a brand I'd seen in my research as solid. Showed me other options on my request but did not try and upsell me. I was hesitant to call a vintage shop at first because when trying to buy a bike the salespeople/owners are always pretentious and rude about my lack of knowledge. Here I felt none of that, thry explained how to set things up, what was positive and negative about each device, etc. They were even incredibly generous with an add on to get me started. If you've ever put needle to groove, you have to check this place out. Ben has a guru's understanding of stereo equipment, and he's got a constantly-rotating stock of amazing speakers, stereos, and more. I bought my stereo system from Delta Breeze and couldn't be happier with it. Ben is a personable guy, very informative, and he really hooked me up with a great setup without breaking my bank. The selection of records is off the hook. They're constantly getting new stock, and you never know what you're going to come away with (although I find myself checking the Facebook feed for new postings frequently). I've purchased some serious grails from this spot. And their prices are refreshingly reasonable. When they get in the $20+ price range, it's completely worth it (first pressings that would easily cost double elsewhere), but most of the time a very good-condition album will run you around $8 or $10 max. But I've scored deals in their bargain bin that put other stores to shame . . . for $2. This is vinyl culture; Delta Breeze embodies what it's all about.
