I love the cakes and donuts. However, I purchased a two layer birthday cake. The first day we cut two slices and the next day we came back to the cake it basically separated. The top layer fell off the bottom layer. A day after that the other side of the top layer fell off. We had the cake in one of those Tupperware cake holder. I purchased half chocolate and half vanilla cake. Vanilla was on top with buttercream icing. The flavor of the cake was good though. I'll just stick to the single layer cakes. read more

They had a good variety of bake goods from cookies, cupcakes, birthday cakes and donuts. The prices weren't bad - $6 cupcakes, $7 for a large cannoli and $2ish donuts. The services wasn't bad. My spouse wanted a salted caramel donut and carrot cake cupcake. He said the cupcake and donut were good. I had the a chocolate strawberry chocolate cupcake. So I read about Deluxe Italian Bakery on Facebook and in particular their salted caramel crème donut. I used to get a similar one at Wawa each spring as a special they had and then years ago Wawa stopped carrying this specialty Easter treat. This morning I drove to Deluxe Italian Bakery anticipating this special treat!! When I arrived, the lovely girl behind the counter informed me that they were out of caramel so they didn't have the donut. I told her about my once a year treat and how I'd never been to their bakery and had come just for that one. She sweetly offered to put in an order for me .... And then went in the back to see when they expected to get more caramel ... several minutes later she came out holding one glorious salted caramel crème donut they were able to make for me!!! What a disappointment! Ordered a cake for a baby shower, gave specific instructions to the man at the counter weeks prior, even left the invitation for the decorators. Great bakery in the south Jersey area. There is a nice selection of breads and desserts. This particular visit, we grabbed a loaf of Italian bread and a dozen donuts. The loaf of bread was fantastic and the donuts were awesome - we chose some classics like chocolate frosted and chocolate cream filled but also a couple exotics like red velvet, salted caramel and peanut butter and jelly. We tried a glazed donut that was just OK, light but tasted kind of like grease. The bear claw/horn we tried were much better and really good. Deluxe Italian Bakery has been my saving-grace this Summer. So, to start off, it's important to know I always bring doughnuts to my boyfriend's out of state family when we visit. We used to get them from a bakery 5 minutes from us for years. Then this past year they shut down. I spent months looking for similar type doughnuts before someone suggested Deluxe, and I wish they had so much sooner. The doughnuts taste just like the old ones we used to love, if not even better. They have all the same classic flavors, but also fun new unique and also seasonal ones. For example in August we tried chocolate covered strawberry, which was so tasty. This past September weekend visit we got to try Salted Carmel Apple and Pumpkin Cream, both of which were so delicious and tasted so much of fall. The classics like vanilla powered cream, sugar jelly, boston cream, and sprinkles with icing are all there and I believe all tasty, considering we buy 18 for a house of 5 and they are gone in 2-3 days max!! I was on the hunt for X shaped donuts for a donut wall for my daughters second birthday and after calling 5+ bakeries someone told me to call Deluxe. Alycia was absolutely amazing! She asked questions to better understand my vision and used my Information to decide which sized X donuts would work best. Even when I asked additional questions throughout the week she answered quickly and provided pictures with a ruler so I could see the exact sizes. I have never written a Yelp review before but decided to share my experience even before we picked up the donuts this morning. But once I got them home and saw how perfect they were and how amazing they tasted I was beyond thankful!!!!!! This was my first time into this bakery, but my 3rd Time enjoying their treats. I had my annual red velvet cake from here 2018 and it was really good. It competes for my top three as I said I get it once a year. No nuts or coconuts. This time though I purchased some holiday treats and a gift certificate. I tell you. While I'm sure many do it, I love the hand written certificate to get my sweet treat on. Too bad it was a gift. But at least the person that got it said their homemade granola bars $1.25 or $1.50 were her top favorite thing here. $3.50 for 4 butter cookies, not bad. My family loved them. Even our visitors of the night indulged and had such pleasant things to say. So I'm sure I'll be back. So while it isn't new it's new to me and it's my local bakery! I love this bakery. Their donuts are what I crave. Love the smell when you walk in. What can I say it's close by and their donuts are really good. I like them better then the chain bakeries. The staff is always friendly and smiling. They have donuts, cakes, pastries, pizza, rolls, bread, cookies. Etc. I like having a bakery like this close by. I mainly go for the donuts but plan on trying more. They have a nice supply of donuts too. And if you go I believe at 8:00 pm their donuts are half price which is always kinda nice when you get that little craving later in the day and if they have any left. This used to be my go to spot for the most amazing pastry's! This weekend 9/19/2020 I went here for donuts. The young lady that was about to serve me, was asked to please put on gloves for my order. She complied, however when I got home several of my salted caramel apple donuts we're squished. They were still edible ,but badly fingered. I thought that was very rude.
