Excellent service, professional work and most importantly very clean. I have been to this establishment on several occasions, each time had a different aesthetician and was please with them all. They offer all sorts of nail services (gel, shellac, etc.) as well as waxing. There are two locations in Nepean: this one is continently located in the Riocan mall by a movie theatre as well as many other amenities, lost of parking, and places to eat. I've actually been coming to this location for a while to get my nails done but not anymore. I went to get my acrylic nails removed and just to get a regular nail polish put on my nails, I walked in and wrote my name in their book and she instantly had a man come and seat me to do my nails. Now I have nothing against men doing nails but he was absolutely terrible. I asked to please have my nails removed and please DO NOT crack them off I would like you to please drill them off and just file them down so that way he will not completely strip the last of the nail beds I have left. He told me okay and then started to drill them down a little and then began to cut them shorter, and then took a SHARP metal utensil and started to rip my nails off. SPECIFICALLY what I told him not to do. I went a long with it and then since he could not get all of the acrylic off with that sharp tool he soaked them in acetone. Now not individually wrapped fingers in cotton balls with acetone but a bowl of acetone. He then continued with my other hand and was going so fast he started breaking my nails LOWER than my skin, and started to apply nail glue to try and fix his mistake. Then he was going so fast he literally STABBED me underneath my nail and I started to BLEED, not a lot but enough to know he punctured my skin. He then started to get me to soak that hand in the acetone and I had to leave that finger out since it was BURNING in the acid. He told me to pick a colour which I did, a light blue and he then told me he was out of that one, I then gave him another option of blue and he said they were all out of that one too. At this point I just wanted to leave I could do a much better job than this on my own, I literally come here to be pampered but this was more like a chop shop. After he removed the nails I asked for oil to be put on them and I didn't want colour anymore. He then said "go wash your hands" and which I did then he said come back and we'll put the oil on. HE APPLIED TO OIL TO MY HANDS AS I WAS STANDING AND PUT ONE LITTLE SWIPE ON EACH FINGER THEN RUBBED IT IN AND SAID HE WAS DONE. I paid then left. I came back the next day asking for a refund because the service was unbelievable, and he came to the counter yelling at me and as I was trying to explain he cut me and made me bleed he literally asked to see my finger and said where. He told the counter woman to give me my refund and that the next time I come back there not to go to him anymore. NO WAY IN HELL WILL I EVER BE GOING BACK TO HIM. 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. read more

She over charged me and gave me the change 15 mins later while I was still waiting after she told me it would only be 5 minutes. Stay Away from here. This place is the worst!!! Got a simple lip and eyebrow done and the girl could not seem to get it right so she kept repeating the procedure. She finally stopped when she put the third wax on my lip and ripped a layer of skin off. I was so focused on the pain in my lip that I didn't notice until I got to the car that there's also a layer of skin missing from my forehead above the brow. My husband kindly gave me a gift card for a pedicure and manicure for Christmas. I waited until Spring to get my feet done and enjoy a relaxing time at the Spa. The girl that did mine was so Awful, I cannot even begin to tell you. She and her co-workers spoke Chinese language to each other the whole time I was there, they may have been talking about me, I don't speak that language, how rude. Went there for my first half leg wax ever. Worst experience at a salon/spa ever! Normally you would think OK this is your first experience let me explain how it goes, That there may be some discomfort etc.. nope not a single word. Basically take you pants off get on the bed and start waxing. After the first leg only had a few strips left she finally decides to tell me that the hair on my legs needs to be longer that's it's "too short" to which she then proceeds to tell me this repeatedly over the rest of the appointment. I'm sorry this was my 1st time!! How am I supposed to know how long my leg hair was supposed to be?!???! I thought she would have assessed first and told me in the beginning hey your hair isn't long enough, I'm gonna leave your leg with PATCHES of hair everywhere!!! Like seriously!!! The entire process was 45 minutes. .the signage says Deluxe Nail Spa but it is advertised online as Nice One Nails ..so I was ten minutes late as I couldn't find the place. At no time did the receptionist tell me over the phone that the sign was wrong. I had the rudest technician ever ..and it is an awful job. I only chose this place as I thought it was the same style and quality of service as the one on Merivale not even close! We called to get the price before booking our mani pedis and were quoted $38, which they denied when we finished. As they were on speakerphone, we are all sure we heard the same thing. The price difference wouldn't have been a big deal but the service was lacking. Once my mani pedi were finished, my girl left the building. I had to determine myself when my nails were dry enough and remove my own toe separators. It was only after I left that I noticed my big toe was completely chipped. I've never written a negative review before but my experience at this spa was horrible. I came in at 11:10 and told there would be a 10 minute wait. I wasn't taken until 11:50. The nail technician was having a lot of difficulty getting the nail tips to stay on and the nails are very uneven.I had to work at 1:00 so I had to stop the appointment at 12:45.. the shape is okay but I didn't have any time to get my shellac. I am really pleased to see how serious my initial complain was taken instead of casually swept under the rug and chalked up to a mere customer dissatisfaction. Michael (Store Manager) from Barrhaven (not sure which location) contacted me immediately via email and was true to his word in giving me a call. It seems that someone is paying attention to Customer Service 101. Being in the service industry myself, I tried to be objective about the incident but even after analyzing it from different angles (Did I do something? Was it a misunderstanding?) - I left feeling very insulted and dissatisfied. Not only that, if anyone asked me for a recommendation, at that point if I were honest about my experience , I could not whole-heartedly recommend this nail salon. Michael was going to make my change my mind. As the store manager, he explained how much my business meant to the store. Even though it was my first time there, it truly seemed like he took the time to make sure I wasn't a classic case of customer churn and take my hard-earned money elsewhere. Not only was he contrite, he also extended a conciliatory gesture, offering me a gift certificate towards new nails at my next visit! Got a Brazilian wax at this location and it was NOT SANITARY. The lady performing the wax double dipped the wax stick into the wax every single time, the same end of the wax stick she used previous. I was not impressed as this is transmission of bacteria and disease! On top of that the room and area was very dirty and not clean at all. Never going back!! I've been to this salon multiple times, and usually left feeling less than impressed, but always gave them another chance. My most recent visit prompted me to contact the owner however, for two reasons. Firstly, I was overcharged for a service I did not receive. I asked for gel nails, for which I was charged, but I was given acrylic nails (which the owner even confirmed when I contacted them). Second, I was cut multiple times during my nail application to a point where two fingers were in extreme pain for 3 days after! I contacted the owner and they seemed very understanding at first, promising to look into the situation. A few days later I was messaged back, and told that the nail tech doesn't remember this visit, and basically "too bad so sad" in other words. THEN, their Facebook page proceeded to block me without explanation. I was completely cooperative with the owner, and there was no reason for this. This is simply so I cannot contact them again and/or write a review on their Facebook page. Incredibly unprofessional!! Save your money and go to one of the dozens of other salons in Barrhaven. You'll get the service you ask for, without being overcharged and injured. And you'll be dealing with professional, polite staff. read more

Horrible customer service. In fact they literally refused to do my nails for racial reasons. I would 100 % not recommend this place to anyone. When I first came in they said the couldn't do my service because all their staff was busy so I said I would come back in a couple of hours. When I came back they simply told me that none of the staff wanted to do a service for me because supposedly I had a bad experience in their Spa before however it was my first time there so I was greatly confused. They told me that I should get my nails done elsewhere and not to come again because I was a bad customer (again, it was my first time in the place so I was confused). I asked why they told me to come back in a few hours, if they were just going to refuse me their service, and they did not answer. I asked if it had to do with the fact that I was not white, and they nodded. I told them that this was discrimination, and they told me to leave because they would prefer not to have a client then to have one that was hispanic. I did as told, and went to another nail salon. This was my first visit to this location but NOT to other locations within the City of Ottawa. Now I am not one for writing crappy reviews, but this place.. wow, never treated so poorly. And so many strikes against.. Now I get the "you get what you paid for" but again I have always gone to other franchise locations. When I was picking my nail colour and when the manicure began she kept trying to talk me into shellac, and why it is just so much better. accept my answer, NO, not interested! and move on to next topic. She did a crappy file job.. my nails are jagged and rough. She had to go around every single nail on every single coat to wipe away excess polish, maybe take your time and learn to properly apply. the top coat is bubbly after the last coat was applied she just left me sitting at the station, there was a small fan to put your hands over..I was sitting there for 20 mins before I asked the front desk lady if I was ready to go? the woman that had done my manicure had moved onto the next customer. She said I should have been under the drying station the entire time and sent me there. This place was dead, there was no excuse. Oh well, I will return to Marivale locations from now on. read more
