The project got delayed a week because he miscut the frame pieces and had to order a replacement frame. He misread the instructions. When attaching the top frame to the side frames, he severely gouged and scratched the finish, and stripped the edges of the screw holding the top to the side. Also, the cut part of the top frame was rough. Michael admitted he didn't have the proper saw blade to cut this material. Once the 2nd frame came in and he brought the correct tools to do the install, upon my first use, water puddled outside the shower on my bathroom floor. He neglected to caulk both the inside and outside of the bottom frame, as directed in the assembly instructions. And one shower door was hung too low and dragged on the bottom frame. I'm not sure how this was missed during assembly as it was very obvious one door moved effortlessly while the other did not. Proper caulking and adjusting the door hanger solved the problems. While Michael apologized and made everything right in the end and did give me a discount off the invoice for the delay and frustration, all the issues could have been avoided if only he did not try to rush the project and had the correct tools for the job from the get go. Overall, I would score this a D- due to all the errors. . Michael is a good guy and wants to do a good job. I may use him again, should I have another home improvement project. However, I will make clear anything requiring assembly and having instructions to do so needs to be carefully read, proper tools on hand from the start and the project not rushed.

This is not a minor issue--it affects the entire appearance of the kitchen and is not what I expected from a professional restoration company. I raised the concern, but it has not been properly resolved. Instead, I am left with mismatched cabinets and an invoice for work that clearly does not meet acceptable standards. At this point, I have requested that the bill be removed and that we part ways, as I do not want any further work done by this company. I have even offered them to come get the cabinets installed. The staff agree these cabinet do not match! They have ordered 2 sets now. This situation has been frustrating from start to finish. I would strongly encourage anyone considering them to carefully inspect all work before agreeing to payment.

This company completed the renovation/remediation on a home we recently purchased. When you…read morepurchase an old home-- you always expect to find issues. When you know that an investor has hired a crew to do a quick flip-- you expect to find issues. But this was beyond comprehension. The lack of care and attention is unreal. The amount of money we are spending to undo their faulty and unsafe work is staggering. From hanging doors backwards, to shoving debris up under carpet (which wasn't even tucked) in the hopes we wouldn't find it, trying to cover up poor tile work with a can of white caulk, exposed tack strips on the floor, throwing down a dirty/stained carpet remnant in an effort to cover up the fact that sub flooring was completely missing, brand new cabinets hung so poorly that they wont even open....the list goes on. There are many contractors out there. Many who take their time, tell the truth, pay attention to detail, and CARE that an actual human being will be residing in the home in which they are working. My wife and I were referred to SPG by a structural inspector and Matthew came out to take a look at…read moreour basement and detached garage for some repairs. In the basement, the 3 support posts under the main carrying beam needed to be replaced as they were doing very little to support our old house. Also, a steel beam held up by two new posts would need to be installed for joists that definitely was buckling under the weight of walls on the main floor. This required massive work and concrete footers to hold all that weight. Our terrible basement stairs also had to be destroyed and replaced with ones that were sturdy and as close to code as possible. In the garage, there was very little that was keeping the roofing and walls from eventually collapsing. It required anchor bolts to the footer, new sill plates in some places and 3 long sections of beams to support the rafters and keep the walls and roof structurally intact. The entire process went smoothly and Matthew was up front about pricing, timing and any minor problems that came up. The work is top notch and my wife and I are very happy we were able to use one company to handle quite a lot of work. If we ever need major repairs in the future I'll definitely see if it is something Matthew and his team are able to handle before looking anywhere else. Thanks a bunch!

Contractor came out and said mortor was bad, wanted to make repairs, had to push to get it taken out and replaced. Owner of company said they were not responsible for the mortor defect just labor. Pushed and they replaced floor. A few months later, another loose stone. They came back out to repair. Asked about sealing, Contractor said sealer was in the mortor, owner said we were good. Now, loose cracked mortor. Owner refuses to repair without charging. He said stone is not a durable surface and we did not seal. It was just put in 16 months ago and Contractor said sealer was in mortor. The fact is the floor has had problems since it was put in. Find a company that specializes in shower flooring, not a company that does it all. Would not recommend! Not Better Business Bureau accredited!
