Great selection of bourbon, they advertise the bourbon they have but a funny thing happens when you go to the store. They say nothing is for sale? They had lots of eh taylor decorations not for sale, some bourbon they posted about having, well that wasn't for sale as well. I love the concept of den rock museum. read more

i wish i could give zero star. went in and bought those alcohol infused whip creams. the seal was off and i noticed when i got in my car. immediately went back in. the 3 guys there said "no it's just like that" because the other can they had didn't have a seal either. so i'm like ok but thats weird but whatever. i go home and maybe 30-one hour later im trying this can and nothing coming out. so i go back and explain the situation and hes immediately like "why is it cold? ur not supposed to refrigerate it." and i said i didn't it's cold outside which it is. and he's like "well it feels cold u shouldn't do that" and i said i didn't like i was here not even an hour ago and my house is cold and he's like "ur house shouldn't be this cold. be honest with me miss did u refrigerate" kept saying no so he hands me the other can and tells me to try that one. i ask if i can do that in there and he said sure. i try it. it doesn't work lol. and he tries the one i had and it also doesn't work. then he says "it seems like they're broken" like i was trying to say but he was too busy being misogynistic to listen to me. then he tells me there's no way on they system to give a refund so i have to pick $20 worth of items. just absolutely ridiculous customer service and aggression from the employees. read more

I mostly go here out of proximity. The store is about the size of a small convenience shop or a gas station store. There is enough of a wine selection that you can either change it up one day or stick to your tried and true brands. They have all of your standard beer (6,12,30 packs) and liquors with some unique options mixed in. They somewhat recently stocked the front of their store with greater variety of craft beers and IPAs from local vendors like Ipswitch Ale, Ithica Beer Co., and others from the area/surrounding states. The prices are comparable, if not better here versus other local liquor stores like McAloons and the ones in the Market Basket plaza in Lawrence or Stop and Shop plaza in Andover. My husband has been a loyal customer for years. Last week he bought a large bottle of Sambuca ($28.00) and some wine. We opened the Sambuca last night and had to throw out what we poured. It tasted like someone had replaced the Sambuca with gin. I called early today and left a message with our phone #. At four PM we had not received a call so my husband went to the store with the bottle to exchange it. The owner refused to replace the bottle or refund our $. I have lived in Boxford most of my 63 years and have never experienced anything like this. My husband then went to Macaloons package store and bought another bottle. He asked them what they would have done if this happened in their store and they said that they would have replaced it with no questions, and their supplier would have reimbursed them. We are out $30 and Den Rock has lost a customer. BUYER BEWARE. read more

Great craft beer selection. Vic is very knowledgable and helpful about IPAs. Selection is as good as Redstone in Andover.

The wine selection is OK, but I personally put no stock whatsoever in their "Den Rock Recommends" tag. I've bought a couple of bottles with that tag that tasted like paint thinner strained through a dirty sweat sock. The liquor selection is OK. I will say that they keep a few interesting liquor selections up near the cash register - like Flor de Cana rum which is hard to find in this area. The staff is solid. Generally, I just shop here for convenience - it's closer to where I live. For better wines, I go out to winesense in Andover and for a better liquor selection (and prices) I go to Salem, NH. I do stop by every now and then to see if they have anything interesting in the rotating specialty selection near the cash register. read more

My favorite liquor store in the Andover/Lawrence area, and i feel i should mention since i don't drink wine or hard alcohol all i'm reviewing here is the beer selection and the staff. While it's not the largest selection in the area they definitely always have something i want. They also seem to have a lot of the more hard to find stuff that you don't normally see even at places like andover liquors. Prices are very reasonable, i actually saw Duvel triple hop here for i want to say 15.99, which is a hell of a lot cheaper than anywhere else (shit i shouldn't have said this, don't go here and buy that because i didn't think to grab it). I've dealt with most of the staff here and they are all extremely helpful, (the guy with the accent, and the guy with the long hair are always willing to hangout and talk beer for a few moments which is always cool). So if you're sick of the people at Beer and Wine at the Andovers touting about how good their store is, or if you're sick of seeing the same dusty crap at Andover Liquors every time you go stop in here. read more
