Sharing a very unpleasant experience that I had this evening at the Craft Beer Cellar in Westford. I'll start by saying that I have been a loyal customer for a number of years, starting back in 2015 when Walter and Marc owned the store, and have only had positive experiences with the very helpful staff and great selection. My visit tonight was anything but positive. I was looking to buy a bottle of bourbon that was priced on the shelf for $39 (and there were multiple bottles of this product on the shelf, not just a random one in the wrong spot), however at the register it came up as $59. The clerk then called the owner of the store (Sandeep "Andy" Bajaj) to get approval to override the register and sell it for the price advertised, as that is the law in Massachusetts (https://www.mass.gov/guides/a-massachusetts-consumer-guide-to-shopping-rights). Sandeep immediately dismissed the request, proceeded to call me a f**king beggar and informed me that he wouldn't sell anything to me. He then demanded that I leave the store. It was unnerving how combative he was. We were on speaker phone and both the clerk and I were very uncomfortable with his aggressive tone. I ended up leaving the store and will likely never return as long as it is under its current ownership. It was clear from this encounter that Sandeep is someone who unfortunately does not care about his customers. I would encourage anyone thinking of patronizing this establishment or any other owned by Sandeep Bijaj to go elsewhere, as there are many other excellent options in Chelmsford, Westford and Littleton. read more

This place is AWESOME. I'm from RI and we have nothing like this near me and I wish we did. This place is so cool and has tons of different selections of awesome craft beers and a huge local selection too. Had exactly what I'm looking for and the staff was SO friendly and definitely knowledgeable. Something really cool about this store is that you can purchase single cans of beer by taking literally any can you'd like out of a six pack. It's awesome!!!! Will be back!!! read more

Excellent selection of craft beers -- not a single macro brew in sight! Went in after work for a beer tasting, featuring Firestone Walker. The woman manning the tasting was extremely knowledgeable, and so were the employees. Nice to have a conversation with someone that knows a lot about beer! On their website, they have a listing of events and it looks like they do beer tastings quite often. Sounds good to me! Layout of the store is great -- when you first walk in, the wall on the left is MA breweries, and as you walk around the store is organized by brewery location. Would be great if they made it more obvious, but the employees know right where everything is. Prices were very reasonable. Trappist Rocheforte 10 year was just over $6, and last time I found it in Boston I paid $12 for the same bottle. They also have a few cold cases tucked in the back corner. Doesn't look like they have any liquor, and they have a very small selection or wines and meads, but my focus was on the beer! Left with a "choose your own" 6-pack -- man I love it when they do that! Right on the way home from my work, too. This could be dangerous. I'll be back -- and often! read more

Great place for the hard to get stuff. More often than not they have what I'm looking for and if they don't have it, the knowledgeable staff knows it's not in season. They were definitely the high point of what was otherwise a pretty solemn night for us. The next morning the fridge revealed a heartbreaking array of unopened champagne bottles, but only 2 cans of beer survived our party! The beer gave us great comfort in a dark time. I think this is my favorite store on Earth! Stumbled in here several months ago after having dinner in the area, and I was immediately in awe. They have an INCREDIBLE selection of not only local beer, but also hard to find beer from overseas. Every single can/bottle in the store can be purchased individually, so the mix-a-six pack truly has no limits. I've been to many places that boast having a mix-a-six program, and when I show up, it's restricted to a small shelf. Not here! The staff have been extremely friendly over my few visits, and they even have a rewards program. I can't possibly recommend this place highly enough. If you're a craft beer fan and like to sample different brews without committing to a 4/6/12 pack, this is absolutely the place for you! They also have wine and other beverages on hand. Lovely little craft beer store in the heart of Westford. They have an impressive selection, from traditional porters, stouts, lagers, and IPA's to some deliciously off the wall experimental types. They also have some great ciders that I'm a fan of when the chilly weather hits. My parents tend to favor their large size / table beer bottles, which are also great. Very friendly and helpful staff is eager to assist you in finding just what you're after. They also have tastings sometimes, and super cute event packages, like the Beer Advent Calendar for the Christmas season. This place is AMAZING! What a great and varied selection of craft brews. A lot of the heavy hitters of the craft beer world are there along with a plethora of hidden gems. I was floored by the great amount of both regional and international spread throughout the sizable store. Be sure to ask the staff if you have questions because they will help make sure you leave there with something awesome. I know I have discovered plenty of new brews thanks to the friendly guys who work there. I've been going here since they opened a few months ago and can't say enough great things about the place. Here's what makes them stand out in my mind: Staff - extremely knowledgeable, helpful and passionate about beer. They are there to help so take them up on it. Tastings - CBC has 3-4 free tastings a week. You get to learn about and taste a great variety of beers from all over. Mixing up Six Packs - they allow/encourage you to purchase single beers and still only charge you the 6 pack price (per bottle). You get to try so many different beers and don't get stuck with any that you might not like. I have recommended CBC Westford to many friends and family members. They have all had great experiences there as well. I'm sure you will too! read more

Tons of Breweries and Variety. - Had one great experience with an employee who was super helpful showing me around the place, I know a decent amount about beer but it's always fun to learn more. - At the register it was different, someone else rang me out and was pretty short with me (It wasn't as if there were other customers behind me.) I had a lot of experience with the Belmont CBC which i love and didn't know that it was a franchise so when i asked if the 2 stores were connected i got scoffed at. I was just trying to learn more about the store and it seemed like they wanted know part of the conversation. Craft Beer Cellar Westford is one of the newest stores in the CBC line. They have an amazing selection of craft beer and an even larger selection of New England beers. They have a fantastic staff that will answer any of your questions. They don't have as large of selection as CBC Belmont, but that is ok as long as they are introducing craft beer to the Northern part of the state. read more

Stopped here a few days ago just to check it out. I have to say, I was really impressed. The other comments can basically give you an idea as to why, but I wanted to add two things: -I really appreciated the employees attitude towards me. I've had bad experiences with the reactions I sometimes get when I say I'm looking for beer. I think I get "typified" as a girl (/certain kind of girl?) so some people don't expect me to like beer in general much less aged/dark/sour beer. These guys were really nice and really helpful. I didn't feel like they were treating me any differently than my boyfriend, challenging my knowledge, nor judging me in any way. To me, it was refreshing and I left smiling. -The selection was excellent. I saw lots of my favorites and they had way more sours and sour styles than I thought they would. I guess it's a rising trend, but I just really liked that. They even had multiple options for gueuze. Thumbs up, Craft Beer Cellar. My guy and I were both really happy with the experience. Fantastic business. Westford is probably the best in the chain, with highly knowledgeable, cicerone certified employees who are not just willing to help, but take personal pleasure in it. It's a bit out of my way, but I always come out of CBC with something new and exciting that makes it worth the added drive. And even though some pricing tends to be more than my local liquor store, the confidence that the items are fresh and the added attention to detail by the staff make it worth the extra dollar. read more
