The ladies at Dena Marie's did a great job getting me (the bride), my mother, my aunts and my sister in law ready for my wedding reception at McRay's Harbor. They worked super quickly but everything looked great and held all night. Since I came in from out of town, I had never done a bridal trial on hair or makeup, but Francesca was able to help me with my messy low bun/chignon and Rachel did a great job on my makeup. The best part was seeing my aunts -- who work so hard and never do anything like this -- walk out feeling and looking like a million bucks. Thanks ladies! read more

Worst experience of my life. Walked in to a stylist named mary With hair past my shoulders asked for ombré and was charged 350 and the lady burnt my hair completely off. I watched it fall and break off as she brushed it after washing the bleach out. Not to mention the dog running around the salon during a global virus never again read more

Came in for baby lights around my face today with Heather after throughly explaining in detail I wanted soft highlights on a V shape and dark around my face she decided to give me a "moneypiece" I ended up stopping her asking WHY she was putting highlights to my roots around my face and NOT on a "V" shape like we discussed and agreed on, keeping my baby hair dark. She responded with "yeah but I ended up going a different route". WHAT A JOKE!!! I ended up NOT getting toner and just ending the service with her telling her to please just dry my hair. The owner ended up having to put DARK hairdye on my freshly bleached hair to correct what Heather did to my hair!!! My hair ends where breaking off and my hair looks horrible, exactly what I did NOT want! The rest of my hair looks untouched she didn't have a pattern placing the highlights she litteraly put random foils throughout and a moneypiece at the top that i stated i did NOT want!! They still ended up charging me $100 claiming "I still got my hair done and Merry Christmas". So I just paid to get my hair DAMAGED and not even get what I asked for?! I went to this place for years and saw Francesca. She was awesome and did a great job on my blonde. I have a background in cosmetology and requested the bond multiplier olaplex which the owner, Dena, claims to buy and use. Imagine my surprise when my hair was not as healthy as usual after the major up charge for olaplex. I found out from an assistant working there that Dena consistently doesn't replace the product and buys different steps from multiple bonding systems--whichever is cheapest at the time--to use and then charged customers for olaplex, a premium brand. The prices changed arbitrarily each month, they're not listed anywhere, and they'd tell me my total would be, say, $175, and then my receipt would say 182.70 or some other arbitrary number. This owner is loud, she's rude, I've listened to her yell at the girls she's supposed to be training on multiple occasions. She's single handedly destroying her own business and her girls would be lucky to get out with their clients while they're ahead. Some of the stylists are great, but I can't support a business that is owned by a dishonest person who carries herself so unprofessionally. Run far away--there are PLENTY of great salons in the area. read more

I asked for a face frame and 2 inches off the top feathered in. not to be negative , but I didn't get either.... and for $40..... I could have gone to great clips. Since moving back to Michigan from Chicago, I've been in the market for a new salon, but haven't found one to call home. Thanks to a high reccomendation from a friend, I decided to try Dena Marie's, and I am so happy with my hair! My stylist, Angela, was not only incredibly sweet, but did an amazing job. Prices are very reasonable, and the salon itself was very clean and open. The other stylists seemed very happy to be there (which can really make or break an experience), and everyone was very friendly. Be sure to check out their Facebook page too, as it looks like they frequently run specials. The only downside is that Dena Marie's is about 45 minutes away from my house, but I'll certainly be back to visit Angela for a root touch-up and style. read more

Fran cancelled within an hour of our appointment. She wanted us to come in right away or cancel the scheduled time which was only an hour away. Very unprofessional. I had had to move my schedule to make appt time work and am very disappointed with the late cancellation on their part. Groupon coupon not valid at this location. With Groupon, I paid $52 for cut, color & blow-out. Gave stylist $20 cash tip as required at sign on reception desk. Got charged another $45.00 for color. Good grief no discount at all. I paid a full $97 for service plus $20 tip. I was told that the highlights I received for color was not included as a color service....but I was not notified of this until I checked out. I was pleased with the results of my cut & color....but will never return or refer anyone to this salon because the groupon coupon was not honored..cost of service was never communicated.....when I did ask for clarification, I was told "not familiar with Groupon offers"....Good Grief.. My girlfriend went to this salon one time & obviously that was one time too many! I think her stylist's name was Dana Dena, something like that & the whole time, all she was concerned about was checking her phone & she was obviously distracted by an older gentleman who came in there. My girlfriend said she could literally hear them arguing in the back. What a joke! As if that wasn't bad enough, the hair cut she gave my friend looked like something from the 70's! She's still trying to grow her hair out to have it the way she normally wears it. She was literally in tears. I took her to my hairdresser & she had to have a lot cut off because it was so damaged from the terrible dye job this stylist gave her. Going to a salon is supposed to be a nice, relaxing experience, but she literally felt like she was at a daycare because the owner had her kids, well most likely her grandkids running around the whole time! What a disaster! If you're looking for a nice, quiet, relaxing salon to get pampered, I personally WOULD NOT recommend this place & be prepared to have a major deep conditioning done afterwards if you get color by her! I only gave one star because I felt bad for the place, but honestly....NO STARS is definitely more fitting! Good luck! read more
