This will be the most honest and fair review you will read. Dan wants to think he is a nice guy and…read morehonestly in a different situation absolutely he would be the guy that you would hang out with in the summer, bbq with and have a beer with. If that is what you are looking for in an attorney by all means hire him. But if you want one that will fight for you as if his life is on the line, he is NOT the lawyer for you. If you have a DUI and if its even your 3rd DUI you get, I am sure Dan can get you out of it and cut a deal for you. He is very good at deals, as he should be because he is best buds with the guys in the DA's office. That being said, if you think you may have to go trial, don't hire him. He doesn't tell you that, but I will. Dan isn't a trial attorney and he will do things to get a deal that limits you if you decide the deal they offering isn't fair. My experience is that the WHOLE system in Berk County is corrupt. The prosecution doesn't care about truth and defense attorneys only care about getting paid. So they work together and sometimes that is a good thing but other times its not so good. When you watch the attorney you hired being best buds with the prosecution you don't really trust you life to them. Now to be fair Emily is incredible! Without her Dan wouldn't appear half as good as he comes across. Dan has a way making you think he is telling the truth, but I caught him in a few lies. The issue is that Dan is so good at lying, I think he believes his own lies. And if I had not known the truth i would have easily believed him. He is a smooth talker and he prides him self on being able to read people, so if you think he isn't reading you and playing you, you are crazy. So you will read plenty of reviews that will tell you how great Dan is, and maybe he will be for you, but I know if I had to do it over again I would not hire him. My advice is to proceed with caution. I know if you are looking for an attorney you are scared and in a scary situation and feel pressure to get help quickly. Take a breath and remember that the court system moves slow so you at least have couple of days to a week to find a good attorney. Any good attorney will be straight with you, allow you to ask questions, and be open to a free consultation. So do some research on what is going on, and get multiple opinions and prices. Then give yourself some time to think before making a decision. That's where I messed up, I did things based out of fear and that is never good. I wish you the best

I would highly recommend Emkey Law Firm. They are always available, very knowledgeable and caring.read more

I had recently transitioned through the divorce process, which was finalized last week. My now…read moreex-husband and I split the cost to hire Joseph Gulliama as the attorney of choice. While he got the job done effectively, there was no encouragement or reassurance provided during a sensitive life transition. I felt the interactions were almost cold and unfeeling due to being overly task focused and professional. While he effectively completed the process in a timely manner, I personally felt a bit uncomfortable at the seeming lack of compassion demonstrated. The task driven professionalism made an already sensitive time a bit heavier to carry. I'd recommend this attorney if you're strictly task driven, but not if you're seeking to feel like a partner through difficult times.

Our infant granddaughter was the victim of a horrific crime committed by her mother, our daughter…read more After our other 2 gdaughters were removed from their parent's custody, we sought visitation. Opposing counsel informed him from the start they wanted us gone. The close relationship he has with opposing counsel took priority over representing us. (he mentioned it many, many times) I was accused, by them of seeing injuries on my gdaughter and ignoring them. The fact of the matter is I was banned from seeing her because I had called the police to check on her. He did nothing to stop them from repeatedly making this false, slanderous lie. (numerous times to the judge ) They falsified reports which he easily could have disputed by simply requesting records but he refused to do so. An evaluation I had by a doctor contained OVER 3 1/2 DOZEN errors, all of which I can prove. (Eval even said I was violent/suicidal when i have NO history of either) He did absolutely nothing. He filed incorrect motions. He did nothing each time the other side was caught lying. The other side said I was rude to our gdaughter's adoptive parents. And I was. I literally feared saying anything to them, knowing opposing counsel wanted us gone and had stooped to slinging lies and false accusations against us.

I was in 2026 for smoking a marijuana cigarette in an empty parking lot in a parked car and was charged with a DUI so I contacted the banks law group for assistance. I had to pay $520 for my preliminary hearing. I only spoke to an associate one time to tell them what happened to me then on the day of my hearing an older gentleman with gray hair, shouted out my name, called me over and told me to stand in the corner. He then walked into a room came back out, told me to just sign paperwork so I could apply for ARD. which I did and the attorney left never to be heard from again after my evaluation I called the banks law group to ask what the next step was and they told me I have to pay them more money because I'm not represented anymore so they charge me 500+ dollars for less than 11 minutes of for a part of the hearing that wasn't even necessary for them to show up to I understand a lot of money to most people but two people who don't have a lot of money. It's a huge amount and I got nothing at all in return except for attitude and snarky comments from some associate named Tim. I 100% never recommend this law group to anyone ever like I said unless you just want a small taste of what it feels like to be taken advantage of before your actual court case maybe to soften the blow or get you used to misery perhaps. This is only my one experience, but if it happens to me, it can certainly somebody else who needs them in a time of need and feels extremely letdown and unsatisfied
