Shiloh Church is about as "southern bible belt christian country church" as it gets. This small…read morelittle church has a quaint, homey, definitively country, casual charm to it. The worship hall feels more like a chapel in size. It's pretty plain and simple. The nicer parts of the church you won't see if you just show up for Sunday service and scram. They have a really cute and new youth and young adult ministry area with a coffee shop. On site is the Shiloh Cemetery. Shiloh is more than just the name of a road that intersects with Cross Timbers...it's a tiny town that is almost all but forgotten. This church and cemetery might be one of the last things keeping it on a map. As I said before, it's a casual church. Feels conservative and traditional but also non-denominational at the same time. Pastor will preach in overalls and cowboy boots, cut off shorts and sandals, Hawaiian shirts with cargo pants and flip flops....whatever the mood strikes him. I have heard he has even carried on the service barefoot! Hey, it was good enough for Jesus, so who are we to judge! If you don't like "small church" feel, where everyone knows everyone (and probably their business too), then this might not be the church for you. It's a small enough worship hall that people notice missing members of the congregation, or new comers. But if you like your church to be like "Cheers", where everyone knows your name and they are always glad you came....then this is the place you want to be at! Music selection is okay, execution is kinda painful, but by golly they are trying their hearts out up there on stage. I'm not gonna say I could do it any better either. So lets all stand up, clap our hands together, read the words off the projector screen and ......Let the spirit move you! It's a nice church, and I recommend you give it a try if you live in the area and are looking for a church home. It's certainly not for everyone though, just a matter of "church style" preferences I guess.

HALF STAR: A Warning From a Former Faithful Member (STAY AWAY!)…read more Date of Review: December 8, 2025 Status: Former, long-time member (7+ years of faithful attendance, tithing, and serving). My Verdict: RUN AWAY! Don't be fooled by the "home-y" facade; this place is run by a wolf in sheep's clothing and functions as a social club, not a true body of Christ. You will be abandoned when you are hurting and need ministry the most. The Crisis: When Ministry Failed I spent nearly a decade of faithfully attending, tithing, and trying to serve here. I truly believed in the mission. However, when my marriage was under attack--when my wife and I were on the verge of separation and divorce--I called, emailed, and texted "Pastor Ken" (Ken Wells) for days, begging for a meeting or even a phone call to help us. I NEVER heard back from him. (Or his secretary!) Ken was always there to greet us and smile when things were fine, but the moment the devil attacked my family, Ken paid no attention. I know he spoke with my wife regarding our split, but he offered me absolute silence. This is a man I prayed for and visited when he was near death during COVID. I question the calling--and perhaps the salvation--of a "pastor" who is too egotistical and callous to return a desperate call, or even delegate a staff member or deacon to help. Even the deacon who led my Sunday Morning Bible Study never called me after I left my wife (after she refused marriage counseling). This is not a church committed to helping its members live through life's trials with unconditional support. The Leadership: A One-Man Show and Misconduct * Autocratic Rule: When a godly friend of mine asked Ken about the church structure (elders, deacons, congregation, etc.), Ken openly stated, "it was a Ken Wells run church..." He wasn't joking. * A "Pastor" Who Doesn't Practice: Ken can preach acceptably, but he simply does not live out what he preaches. I believe he is a fraud when it comes to serving others. I wonder why no other church has ever called him to be their pastor. * Nepotism and Deception: There is so much going on behind the scenes that the congregation never knows about. For instance, the pastor used a church-owned house (meant for future ministry/classrooms) to let his daughter and son-in-law live in rent-free for over a year--with no vote or explanation. During that time, he also hired his daughter to "work" for the church. Decisions like this, including annual pastoral raises and more vacation time, are made without congregational awareness. * Worship Leader Fiasco: I know for a fact that the pastor pressured a former worship leader to resign so he could hire a staff member's son-in-law who needed a job. No Real Ministry Aside from a basic food/clothing pantry (run by a decent man), there is very little actual ministry. In the nearly decade I was here, we had ONE "Marriage Conference," and it was just a videotape. There is no ministry for newlyweds. When I offered my skills as a part-time paid former Youth Minister to help in the interim for both the Youth Ministry and later, the Children's Ministry, I was told they only hire "seminary trained" people. Yet, they later hired a "burnt out retired teacher" for the Children's Minister role who has no seminary training, while I was passed over for the interim Youth position for a privileged long time member. Conclusion This place is controlled by a few long-standing families and a self-serving pastor who needed to retire years ago. It looks great on the surface, but when you need prayer, assistance, or a listening ear--when you truly need the Body of Christ--it's not there. UPDATE: The former Executive Pastor (who was a long-time friend of Ken's and handled the payroll) and his son-in-law (the music minister) have both recently left. I believe they finally realized what a deceiver and a fraud Ken Wells is. I warned you. Please stay away!

Everyone just about know everyone and that to me is a beautiful example of how the people at Northview truly make everyone feel welcome and part of a family.
